Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Third POV.

Confusion was written on everyone’s face as they turned their heads to look at Leila.

“Leila dear, what do you mean when you say that?” Amanda asked Leila.

“He was stabbed when we got in the room that day. I tried saving him. Although he was badly wounded, I did try saving him but my energy was depleting quickly thus it would have been me who would have died if I continued,” Leila answered as she looked at the man who was her mate in everyone’s eyes apart from her.

“You should have saved him no matter what!” Aiden shouted, making Leila laugh coldly.

They all felt shivers run down their spine as they heard her laugh. It was a laugh that was wicked, mocking and at the same time carried hatred in it.

“Yes? He has been good to me and my family and my mate’s father, of course I had to save him! Because of this, Amaya proposed something and I did it cause it was the only way to make sure he was eventually healed and continued to be alive. I had planned to tell you everything when we saved everyone but what did I get?” Leila asked coldly with a mocking smile on her face.

“I continued to persevere through all the cruelty, hatred you showed me. I remained silent for I wasn’t weak or stupid rather I wanted to wait till your old man was healed so that you could realise the mistake you made,” Leila added.

Aiden’s mind was messed up. He didn’t know what to do or say. At the same time, he heard all the voices that told him he should treat Leila well. All the voices that said his father would be disappointed in him. He could even hear his wolf laughing at him for the bog idiot he is.

He shook his head and convinced himself otherwise. Although he had regretted everything he did to Leila and was trying to get into her good books, he couldn’t just believe that his father was alive because he said so.

“How can we know you are speaking the truth and not playing with our minds?” Aiden asked coldly, making the people present shake their heads as they wondered whether he was really crazy.

Leila glanced at him lazily as she let out a cold chuckle.

“You think I want to sit here and waste my time lying to you about such a thing? Mh? I hate you and to me, you aren’t my mate, so why do you think I can go to the extent of lying to you just to get your attention?” she asked in a serious tone.

Aiden was hurt when he heard her claiming that he wasn’t his mate despite that he was. He opened his mouth to refute but no sound came out cause his mind was already blank.

“After what happened three days ago, I have decided that I will no longer play a good mate and queen anymore. Actually, I could have released him that day although he hasn’t recovered fully yet. I continued treating him cause of Aurora and the others. To repay them for what they did, They aren’t my friends or family. They are yours. From today, I have repaid all the kindness. If someone wants to be on this guy’s side, he or she can longer be on mine!” Leila said as she stood up, making people confused.

“Leila, where are you going? Also, where is dad?” Aurora panicked when she saw Leila leaving.

“In his room. You can go see him. He hasn’t recovered fully yet but I will no longer treat him thus no one should come to me begging me to treat him. You will all have to turn to your god but I don’t think your answers will be answered after all I have gone through here,” Leila said with a smirk.

They all rushed to the king’s floor as they wanted to see him. Even Marcus and Elana joined as they couldn’t believe it as to them, Leila should have told them as they were a family! Looking at them as they ran on the stairs, Leila shook her head and stood still.

After they all vanished in front of her, she smiled and opted to sit in the living room to wait for them as she was so sure that they would look for her later on.

Aiden was at the front of everyone thus he opened the door when they arrived outside the room.

“Leila?” the old man asked, making them halt before walking in as they were now sure that Leila did not lie to them.

“Dad,” Aurora called out as tears escaped her eyes.

Never had she ever thought that she would get to see her father so soon but all in all, she was so happy and grateful to Leila and also sighed in relief inwardly that her relationship with Leila was so good that she opted to continue her father’s treatment because of her.

“Baby,” the old king said as he opened his eyes and struggled to sit down.

“Dad, what are you doing? You are injured thus you should lay down,” Aiden said worriedly but the old man ignored him and with the help of Aurora, he sat down with a pillow behind him supporting his back.

Seeing his father ignoring him, Aiden remained silent and stood at a corner as he admitted that his worst fear had come true.

“Dad, how are you feeling?” Aurora asked as she wiped away her tears.

“I am fine. I wanted to tell you so as you cannot be worried or blame Leila but I couldn’t. I don’t know what she did. Aiden always came in here and I could see him and hear him but every time I spoke, it was like he didn’t hear me at all,” the old king said, shocking Aiden.

Now, he understood why his father was treating him the way he was. At first, he had been blaming Leila as he convinced himself that Leila was the one who spoke ill of him in front of his father but now it seemed that wasn’t the case.

“Today, she told me that she had made an invisible barrier around me thus I could see and hear everything that’s around me but the people there couldn’t. She also said that she won’t be treating me anymore. What’s happening?” he asked with a confused look on his face.

For three days, he had not seen Aiden and if he recollected, it was in those three days that Leila’s attitude towards him had changed completely.

Everyone avoided his gaze as they didn’t know what to say. They were worried that he would get worse and there wasn’t someone who could treat him if his situation got worse.

“Aiden, if I am not wrong. It’s all your fault. What have you done this time?”
