Chapter 114: Chapter 114

Third POV.

Josiah trained them for three days non-stop as he had passed some energy to them so that they could not get tired or have fatigue.

“We haven’t slept for three days yet I still feel as if I have enough energy to not sleep even for a week,” a warrior said as he laughed, making the others join in as they agreed to his words.

“Now that I am sure that you all have understood the fighting tactics and how to use your powers, I can go rest as I am very assured that you will win in the battle,” Josiah said as he looked around.

All these while, Aiden had been hiding himself in the chamber’s inner room as he watched and followed everything that had been taught.

He knew that the councils had not yet looked for him since they were all busy with training at the elders' side.

Because he did not want to lose his position or become a laughingstock when everyone finds out that he no longer had his wolf, he opted to work extra hard and become the strongest among the lycans even without his wolf.

All his old fighting skills could be considered as trash as that was what the warriors had learnt from him. He learnt from Josiah and the others silently without having a glass of water or even food. He saw them as luxury till he succeeded in what he wanted.

After those three days, he felt this body lighten and better. Deep down, he knew that his strength had increased tremendously.

He walked out of the chamber silently and through a secret door in order to avoid been caught.

“Mmh,” a voice came behind him making him halt but he was afraid.

He took a deep breath before turning around and looked at the person who was standing looking at him coldly.

“You are such a coward,” Marcus said, full of hatred and disgust as he looked at him.

Marcus looked at Aiden from top to bottom and the more he looked at him, the more he frowned before laughing out loudly.

“Wow. You wanted to make my sister suffer but it seems you are the one suffering, huh? Tell me how has life been?” Marcus asked with a smirk on his face.

Aiden clenched his fist as he wished he could beat him up but didn’t as that would make things worse and even be added to his list of crimes when presented to the council.

“You smell awful mahn. Even the warriors in there don’t smell like you? Are you a lycan? Cause now, you seem more human than lycan,” Marcus said, making Aiden stiffen.

He didn’t dare look at Marcus in his eyes as he was afraid that Marcus would figure everything out.

Marcus rolled his eyes as he saw his head still lowered and not hearing an answer from him but he didn’t suspect that anything was wrong with Aiden. Although he knew that something was wrong, he didn’t want to look into it deeper as he felt there was nothing connecting him with the man standing in front of him.

“Aiden, sometimes it is better remaining silent than hurting the ones you love and those close to you. Now look at what you sowed? No one has the time to talk to you or even keep you company and it will only worsen as time passes by. I don’t wanna tell you that I wish you luck when you go before the council as you already proved that you aren’t one of us. Anyways, the next time we will be practising please don’t hide and watch us while trying to learn. It is so creepy feeling eyes on you yet you can’t see the person. Although my family do hate you, we will still allow you to learn with others,” Marcus said before getting ready to leave.

“Oh also, stay away from Leila for your own good. If I don't want to die,” he said as he left.

Aiden lifted his head and looked at him in confusion.

“Where are you helping me?” he shouted at Marcus after some time.

Marcus halted upon hearing his question before turning to look at him after some few minutes of silence and thinking.

“The moon goddess chose both of us to help her grandchildren in controlling the darkness. She wanted to give them the best. Leila asked to be given the most powerful werewolf or lycan and she was given you. Everything has its own challenges but how we deal with them is what matters the most. You may see it as helping you but I am helping Leila. I don't want to see her hurting again and you will always do that as long as you are near her and if she is reminded of what happened, she might try killing you making Amaya stronger and we have been preventing that,” Marcus replied before turning around.

This time round, Aiden did not stop him. He remained rooted there for sometime before dragging his dirty and tired body to the palace.

After cleaning himself, he left his bedroom and walked downstairs and saw everyone together with the councils.

When they heard footsteps, they stopped talking and lifting their heads and looked at him in disappointment.

“Aiden, we have heard what you did and we are so disappointed,” Amanda said without waiting for him to reach where they were.

“You should also know your parents are so disappointed in you. What do you think will happen if your father finds out?” Elijah asked in a serious tone.

“I think he already does. I was told he was stabbed before being kidnapped thus I am sure he is already dead,” Aiden said as tried his best to sound and look strong.

Everyone remained silent and didn’t sare talk as they knew he was correct. The chances for the old king to still be alive are less than ten percent.

“Who said he was kidnapped or that he is dead? Your father is okay.”
