Chapter 2: Chapter 2
It was very late in the night and I feel so thirsty. Thirty for nothing but blood. I'm a vampire-werewolf hybrid, making my desire for blood greater than the normal vampires and have more strength and agility. I stood up from my bed and dashed into the woods. The night was silent and only the rumbling of the grass could be heard.
My eyes glow in the darkness, making it easier for me to see. I sighted a deer and ran after it. It took me less than a few seconds to get hold of it. I tore its neck and blood gushed out. I feed on it, enjoying the sensation I felt. Although I'm a vampire-werewolf hybrid and have a high thirst for blood, I feed mostly on animals.
"Damien?" Someone called. The voice sounded just like my mom's. I raised my head slowly to look at her.
"Don't tell me you're out here again, alone"
I closed my eyes and slowly opened them. My eye's color has changed from red to its normal emerald green. I stood up slowly, tilting my head to the side. She walked up to me and cleaned my lips. She sniffed the blood. "Animal blood again?"
"I feel so refreshed and contented when I drink their blood"
She furrowed her brows. "And your pet?"
I felt bored by her question and ignored it. I walked past her and dashed into the wood. I need a little bit of exercise before going back to bed. Not like I sleep though.
**
I opened my eyes slowly. It's morning already. A time when vampires stay indoors. But not for a hybrid like me. I can walk during the day and also at night. I took a quick shower and got dressed in simple black pants and a shirt. Someone knocked at my door and I growled. Who dare knocks at my door when not summoned. I opened the door with my eyes and dragged the already shivering pet in without coming close to her. She wiggled and I smirked. "How dare you knock on my door?" I thundered.
She shook vigorously, as fear gripped her. "I... I... I..."
I jabbed her neck to the side and she dropped dead to the ground. Nobody dares me!!. I'm been known for my brutality and nobody dares cross my path. Little blood splashed on my hand and I sniffed it. How much I dislike human blood. "Gary!!". My guard rushed in, face down. He dare not look me in the eyes or he will be dead like the rest. He has been the only one who seems to be lucky to remain with me, despite my brutality and despite being a human. Though his family has been serving my family for over 100 years. "Dispose her body and make sure the Queen doesn't know about this"
He bowed. "Yes my lord". He dragged her body out and I sighed. This is the fourth pet in a week. The queen just doesn't want to understand that I don't feed on human blood. And I don't want them anywhere close to me. I sat down on the chair and closed my eyes. The door opened and the queen walked in. My eyes were closed but I could still smell her.
"Damien, you didn't answer my question"
I sat up but my eyes remained closed. "What question, mother?"
"Why do you prefer animal blood to humans. And why you love to end their lives at every chance you've got?"
I sigh and opened my eyes slowly. I stood up and walked up to her. "See you later mom. I need to get something at the mall" I kissed her cheek and walked out.
"Damien!!" She yelled but I wasn't ready to turn back. I'm not going to tell her the reason I feed on animals, cause I have no reasons.
I walked through the hallway and everyone scurried away. I smirked. "Gary, get the car ready we're leaving for the town"
"Yes my lord"
**
I stepped out of the car and looked around. Everywhere was deserted, just the way I wanted it. I rested my back on the car. "Gary, get me some cigarettes"
He hurried into the mall and came back with a pack and a lighter. I lighted one and puffed some smokes. "Take this, make sure you get every item on the list. I want to take a stroll"
He nodded. "Yes my lord"
"If I'm not back when you're done, wait for me outside the car"
"Yes my lord"
I handed back the cigarette. "Take". He took it from me with a trembling hand. "Go!!". He ran off quickly and I walked down the street, enjoying the sunny weather. The joy of being a hybrid.
I walked for a while and turned back. I stopped promptly. I could smell a human. A fragile one at that. I followed the scent to see a young girl. She looks eighteen. I bent down to her level and she flinched. "What are you doing out here alone?"
She trembled. "Please don't hurt me. Please, my sister went to get me something to eat"
I scoffed. "I don't drink human blood" I murmured. She stared at me. "How long have your sister been gone?". She furrowed her brows. "I mean how long"
She chuckled. "I understand. I just wonder why you're so cute". I got so irritated. Is she trying to flirt with me?. "And kind too" she added. I scoffed. It seems she doesn't know me. I'm not in any way kind and I ain't the type that's patient enough to hear people out. I kill at the slightest chance I get.
"Maya?" someone called from behind. I turned slowly to see a lady. Her face was covered in a black veil. She stared at me and turned in the little girl's direction. "What do I tell you about talking to strangers?"
The girl I presume to be Maya chuckled. "I'm so sorry Mira. He seems kind and cute too. I couldn't resist talking to him"
I scoffed. This little girl is flirting with me. "Don't you ever talk to strangers, ok? Especially the cute ones as you called him. They can be so cunning"
My eyes switched. Did she just call me cunning?. I raised my eyebrows. Who the heck is this girl!!. "Let go, Maya"
"But Elmira, I'm so hungry?"
"I've got you something to eat. We need to leave now. The sun is going down. The vampires will be out soon. We need to get back home"
I smirked and stood up. "Seems someone is afraid of Vampires"
She glared at me and dragged her sister away, leaving me dumbfounded. Did she just walk out on me?
