Chapter 3: Chapter 3

I blinked my eyes, which has changed from emerald green to red. The hair on my body stood up slowly. I felt so annoyed that she ignored me. No one has ever looked me in the eyes!. Nor as anyone try to walk out on me. Who the heck is she to ignore me?.

I felt so much like strangling her. I don't think she knows who I am, cause if she does, she wouldn't have walked out on me!!. I closed my eyes and opened them slowly. My eyes changed back to emerald green and I sighed. I walked back to the mall. Gary was already waiting for me. He bowed when he saw me. "Welcome back, my lord"

I ignored him and walked close to the car. "Let's go home"

He opened the door for me and I entered. The driver hit the road. "You should be fast as possible". I rested my back, and close my eyes. The drive back to the vampire territory was awkward. I couldn't stop feeling so angry. Why would she ignore my question and walk out on me? I hit the door angrily!!. Gary flinched. I sigh and close my eyes.

The car stopped and I stepped out. Guards who were close by, kneeled immediately, bowing to greet me. I ignored them and went straight to my room to take a shower. Maybe that will help me calm my nerves. I stepped out of the shower dripping wet. I faced the mirror to comb my hair. I heard a knock on the door and turned. "Mother?"

The door opened and she walked in. She looked around and finally settled her gaze on me. "Don't tell me it's true"

I furrowed my brows. "What mother?"

"What have you done?"

"I did nothing mother"

She hissed. "You've killed your pet?" I rolled my eyes. "Again!!" She added

I sighed. "Can we talk about this later?"

"No, we are talking about this now!!"

"Mother!!"

"Don't you dare mother me!!. Tell me, what's your problem?"

"I don't have a problem mother. I told you, I don't feed on human blood. You just won't accept that"

She glared at me. "Is that the reason you killed her? Huh?"

"No"

"Why did you?"

"She trespassed. So..."

"So you killed her"

I rolled my eyes. "It isn't like I did a wrong it"

"You did more than a wrong thing!!"

I tilted my head to the side. "Mother, I need to get dressed. I've got some things to do"

I turned to go. "I'm getting you a new pet soon"

I stopped on my track and turned. "You will do what?"

"You heard me. I'm getting you a new pet. You'd better not kill her cause if you do. You won't like what you will see"

I groaned. "I don't want a pet, mother. I don't need one!!"

"You've got no choice, Damien. Now listen carefully, I'm talking to you, not as your mother but as your queen. I'm getting you a pet and that's finally!!"

I sigh. "Ok, mother"

I watched her walk out of the room and I turned towards the table. I pushed down all the books on the table. Why can't she understand I don't like pets!!!.

I turned to the wall and punched it. My eyes turned red. I kept punching the wall until I was satisfied. I went into my closet and got dressed in a black turtleneck shirt and blue trousers. I need to go for a walk to clear my head. I walked out of the palace, as people kept running away. I smirked. How I love this feeling. I love the way they scurried away when they see me. I left the palace and walk into the field.

The ray of light shined on my face through the window. I can't believe it's morning already. I must have slept so much. I opened my eyes slowly. Mother was standing beside the bed, staring at me. I sat up quickly. What's she doing in my room by this time of the day?. She's supposed to be in a meeting with the council. "Is everything all right?"

She smiled and sat down beside me. "Hope you slept well?"

I furrowed my brows. "What's going on, mother?"

She touched my hair, caressing it. "Nothing. I just felt the way I talked to you yesterday was harsh, so I made your favorite"

I rolled my eyes. "You've gotten me the pet?"

She smiled. "No, when I do, you will know" she stood up. "Go take your bath. I will dish the food"

I rolled my eyes. Hope it isn't human blood?. I  stared at the table which contains the tray of food. "You brought it here already?"

She smiled. "Yeah"

I sigh and stood up from the bed. I walked closer to the tray and opened it. I sniffed it and smiled. It's fresh deer meat. The heart to be precise. "Your sins are forgiven, mother"

She smiled. "Go"

I went into the bathroom and take a shower. I stepped out of the shower and went into my closet. I got dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt. I'll be visiting the Island pack, today. Mom wants me to see Into their affair. I sat down on the couch to eat.

I walked into the palace frustrated. I feel so tired and thirsty. The meeting with the werewolves' elders was a disaster. As usual, they had refused to accept me as their Alpha. I never wanted it in the first place. I have always loved my life as a vampire. Mom stood up from her throne and walked up to me. "Are you ok, son?". I sat down on the couch. "Talk to me"

"I'm ok, I just need a rest". I stood up from the couch and went to my room. After taking a shower and dressed in a short and a shirt, I dashed into the wood. I ran around for a while and sat down in frustration. Why can't I find a deer?

I closed my eyes but opened them when I heard some noise. I furrowed my brows. What's going on?. Gary ran towards me? "My lord, the Queen seeks your presence"

I stood up. "What happened?"

"We won?"

"You won?. Can you go straight to the point!!" I yelled at him

He trembled. "The war with the humans is a success"

I tilted my head. "What war?"

He bowed. "My lord, the Queen is in the best position to tell you"

I sigh. "Let's go"

I folded my hands. "How come I don't know about this?". Mom just told me about the war between vampires and humans.

She sigh. "Have you ever thought about how I got you those pets?"

"But you should at least let me know about the war!!"

"It wasn't like you cared"

"That doesn't mean I shouldn't know"

"You will when you're ready to take charge of the affairs of the land"

"I don't want to do that!!"

"I know you won't. Just get ready to meet with your pet, tomorrow"

I narrowed my eyes. "Can't you just leave that aside?"

"You know I won't. Go, I will bring her to your room tomorrow"

I smirked and left the throne room. I know she's going to be like the rest and will end up just like them!!
