Chapter 10: Chapter 10

I wondered why she took off when she saw me. I wanted to go after her and ask why?. But I said no to that. "Gary, let go". We got to where the cars were packed and I entered. Soon, we were on our way to the Island pack territory. When we got there, I was ushered into the meeting hall. Lord Raymond and the rest of the elders were already seated but stood up when they saw me.

They bowed. Lord Raymond walked up to me. "Welcome, Damien" I rolled my eyes. "Thanks for coming"

I nodded and walked past them. I sat down. "Sit" I ordered. They sat down. "Can the meeting begin please"

"Sure"

One of the elders opened a big book and began to scan through it. I tapped my fingers on the table. "What's the first thing on your meeting list?"

"The first thing on the list is the feedback from the meeting we had with the Mountain pack"

I rolled my eyes. "What's it all about?"

He gave the details about it. We also talked about other things and I kept yawning and turning. To me, the meeting was a waste of time. It wasn't only boring, it was also very tiring. When the meeting finally came to an end, I sighed. "That's the last thing for the day right?". They nodded and I stood up. "I'm leaving"

I walked out of the hall with Lord Raymond, walking behind me. "Once again, thanks for coming, Damien," he said when we got to the car. I sighed. Gary opened the door and I entered. "Bye" he waved

The car zoomed off and I relaxed my back on the chair.

When we got to the palace, I went straight to my mom, to give her feedback on the meeting. Two guards were at the door when I got there. They greeted and opened the door for me, not after announcing my presence. Mom was seated on the couch, going through some papers.

I walked up to her and sat down. "Mom?"

She raised her head. "You're back?"

I nodded and sat beside her. I picked up some papers, looking at them. "What are you doing?"

She sighed. "Your uncle, Mark, needs help on one of his companies". I rolled my eyes. Uncle?. "Do you remember him?

I relaxed on the couch. "No"

She glared at me. "You can't remember my brother?"

I groaned. "I don't know any of your brothers"

She hissed. "The one who visited us some months ago". I sighed. I can't remember anybody but I will just pretend I do, so I muttered an 'oh' and she sighed. "Damien, are you sure you remembered?"

I chuckled. "So what does he want?"

She sighed. "Your uncle needs help with his company, so I'm trying to help him ut". I sighed. "He also wants you to come to his coven to help him see to the affairs"

I rolled my eyes. "Can't he do that himself"

"He wants to travel for the vampires' yearly meeting, so you're going there"

I rolled my eyes. "And why would I want to do that?"

"Because I said you will"

I groaned. "And who will be in charge here?"

"I'll. Your uncle will represent our family"

I stood up from the couch. "I'm going nowhere"

"That isn't your choice to make. And less I forget. You're going with your pet"

My eyes widen. "I can't go with her"

"You've got no option. You leave in two days"

"What about Amaya, who will take care of her?" I said trying to make her change her mind

"I'll take care of her"

"What if she falls sick?"

"I know what to do"

"Mom"

"Go, I'm very busy"

I groaned. "This isn't fair!!"

She ignored me and I walked out

**

I was bored and decided to take a walk through the garden. I'll be leaving for my supposed uncle's coven today with my pet. Mom had chosen some vampires to go with me. And that's the reason I have to travel at night. Gary was to stay back since he's human. I still wondered why mom wants Elmira to go with me, considering she's human too. I rolled my eyes as I walked through the passage.

I got to the garden and sat down. Why do I suspect some hidden motive?. I groaned. Whatever her motive is, I'll find out. I stayed in the garden for a while before heading back to my room to get ready. Gary was outside my room waiting for me. "Welcome back my lord. I'm here to help you pack up"

I sighed and walked in. "You know what to do?"

"Yes, my lord"

"Good, get me what to wear"

"Ok, my lord"

I left him and went to the bathroom to take my bath. When I was done, I entered the closet. Gary had already kept my clothes. I quickly rubbed my body and got dressed. I walked out of the closet and stood in front of the mirror. Gary placed the last cloth into the bag, as I button up my shirt. "Is that the last cloth?"

"Yes, my lord"

"And everything is intact?"

"Yes, my lord"

I sighed, brushing my hair. "Take them to the car"

"Ok, my lord"

He turned to leave but I stopped him. "When you're done, go find my pet to see if she's ready"

He bowed and left. By the time I was out of my room, the place was already getting dark and the humans were already in their rooms. I went to my mom's room to say goodbye. I wanted to open the door but stopped when I had whisperings. It was a conversation between my mom and Elmira. "I can't go," she said

"You're going to be safe. Damien won't let anything hurt you" mom answered

I rolled my eyes. Is she for real?. "He hates me, he will hurt me"

"He won't hurt you. I know he won't"

"What about my sister?"

"I'll take care of her. Just do as I told you"

I hissed and opened the door. There was silence as they stared at each other. "I'm leaving"

Mom walked to me and hugged me. "Be good". I rolled my eyes. "And make sure you keep her safe". I groaned. Like I have a choice.

**

The car stopped and I stepped out. Elmira stepped out, looking so scared. I rolled my eyes. My supposed uncle and his family were waiting outside ready to welcome us. He walked to me. "Damien, you've grown into a man. The last time I saw you, you were a toddler"

I groaned. I thought mom said he visited some months ago?. "Nice meeting you, uncle," I said in a sarcastic tone

He chuckled. A young girl walked up to us, sniffing the air. "Is there a human here?" She asked. She moved closer to Elmira and sniffed her. "You're human?"

I hissed. "Eunice stop that" Uncle Mark said

She kept staring at her, as her fangs began to grow. I had no option but to pull Elmira away from her. "Damien, meet your niece, Eunice"

"Nice meeting you Eunice," I said in a sarcastic tone. She rolled her eyes and I smirked. I turned to my uncle. "Can you please show us to our rooms?"

"Sure"

We were ushered in. He asked his daughter to show the rest to their rooms while he offered to show me mine. As we turned to leave, I held Elmira by the hand and dragged her.

"Is she not staying with the rest?" Eunice asked

"No, she stays with me" I announced

"But your mother said you don't stay with your pet?" My uncle asked

I groaned, getting tired of their conversation. "I changed my mind". He sighed but said nothing. "Can we leave now?"

"Sure"

As we walked past lots of vampires, they kept staring at Elmira. Right there, I knew I had great work to do, to keep her safe from them.
