Chapter 86: Chapter 86
FIRST, WONHEE checked if she was presentable.
Fortunately, she chose to wear a cardigan and a pair of jeans that day. She wasn’t wearing her shoes, but at least she was wearing her fluffy home slippers. Her hair was half-braided (courtesy of Yejun), and she put on light makeup earlier. Overall, she looked okay.
This may be shallow of her, but she didn’t want to look shabby in front of her ex-boyfriend.
[Tannie suddenly sent me here– I’m glad I look alright.]
And, while looking around, she was relieved to see that there were no Civilians around.
It was definitely thanks to the Special Forces (Cracks Division) that were there.
[Captain Lee Jiho is here– no wonder the Civilians were evacuated quickly.]
Aside from Yejun and Seodam, she also recognized Song Moonho and the famous members of the Autumn Guild’s elite team.
Park Ruda was also there, and...
Wonhee smiled and shyly waved back at Keun, the youngest member of Seodam’s elite team. "It’s been a while, Keunnie."
"It’s good to see you again, Wonhee-ya," Nana said, smiling. "You’ve gotten prettier."
Wonhee blushed. "T-Thank you, Unnie."
On the other hand, Kim Hosun and Gohyun bowed politely towards Wonhee.
She greeted them back the same way.
She had a friendly relationship with Seodam’s team members, after all.
"Wonhee-ya, it’s been a while."
It was Park Ruda, smiling at Wonhee.
Although Wonhee felt awkward, she still greeted her senior. "Hello, Ruda Oppa."
"What happened, Wonhee-ya?" Seodam asked worriedly while approaching her. "Where did you come from–"
Seodam stopped talking because he almost slipped...
... all because the concrete that Seodam was walking on had suddenly turned into ice.
As a result, Seodam was forced to stop walking towards Wonhee.
Wonhee looked up at Yejun, and Yejun avoided her gaze guiltily.
"Yejun-ah, I’m not wearing proper shoes," Wonhee said gently. "Please don’t make the weather colder than it already is."
"Okay," Yejun said obediently, and then he looked at Wonhee innocently– as if he didn’t try to make a fellow Hunter slip. "Let’s go home, Wonhee-ya."
Wonhee noticed that Yejun’s eyes had turned red again.
"I’m afraid you can’t leave yet, Hunter Hwang Frost," Seodam said firmly. "The same goes for you, Hunter Song Moonho. Entering Cracks out of your guild’s jurisdiction is illegal–"
"We know," Song Moonho said, cutting off Seodam with a smile. "The Big 4 created the Special Law that concerns Awakened People and Cracks that APA implemented."
That immediately shut Seodam’s up.
As a result, the APA Hunters were displeased. Even the Special Forces (Cracks Division) led by Captain Lee Jiho didn’t look happy.
[Right– they hate the Big 4 for standing above the law.]
Wonhee used to hate that about the Big 4 as well, even though her older sister was a part of it. But after spending time with Yejun, she realized it wasn’t all black and white.
There were times when Big 4 had the right to act above the law.
[After all, APA isn’t really what I thought it was.]
"Just because you created the law doesn’t mean you have the right to break it," Seodam said firmly. "In fact, the Big 4 has the duty to follow the Special Law that you created."
Wonhee kind of expected that from Seodam.
[Oppa is the righteous type, and it’s one of the things I like about him as a person.]
Wonhee looked up at Yejun. "Yes?"
"Do you like law-abiding citizens like that fake carnivore?"
"I see," Yejun said, and then his gaze went past her. "Then I’ll cooperate with APA."
Wonhee turned to Seodam because she was pretty sure Yejun was talking to her ex-boyfriend.
As expected, Seodam looked surprised.
[And, for some reason, the others look scared by Yejun’s "obedience."]
"Maknae-ah, it’s too late for you to be a law-abiding citizen," Song Moonho teased Yejun. "You’re scaring those poor things even though you’re hiding your presence."
Oh. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on n0velfire.net
No wonder Seodam and the others didn’t cower in front of Yejun this time.
"If Wonhee likes law-abiding citizens, then I’ll be a law-abiding citizen from now on," Yejun said firmly. "Don’t stop me, old man."
"You should go home, dumb kid."
It wasn’t Song Moonho.
Wonhee and the others turned to the person who had the guts to call Yejun a ’dumb kid.’
And Soobin didn’t come alone.
[Geon Oppa is also here, and that lady who resembles Ahn Kisoo a lot...]
That must be Ahn Kaia, the Summer Guild’s Vice Guildmaster.
"Hyung, I’m not a kid."
"That’s what you’re denying and not the other thing I said about you?" Soobin asked while shaking his head. Then he turned to Wonhee with a worried look on his face. "Hee-ya, are you okay? I wasn’t informed that you’d be here."
"I’m alright, Oppa," Wonhee assured her brother. "The System just sent me here because Yejun needs my Guiding. It’s not my skill that brought me here."
"I see. Then you should go home with Hwang Frost," Soobin said. "I’ll take care of the rest. Your Semi Unnie is headed to your place."
Soobin then gently patted Wonhee’s head before he handed her his car key. "Here. Use your brother-in-law’s car."
[Soobin Oppa knows that Yejun can teleport, but he lent us a car that we don’t need. He probably wants Yejun to keep his new skill a secret.]
"Okay, Oppa," Wonhee said, and then she turned to Geon. "Brother-in-law, we’ll return your car later."
"Don’t worry about it, Hee-ya," Geon said, patting her on the head. "Get home safely."
Wonhee nodded politely, and then her gaze landed on the person who had been watching her intently. "Seodam Oppa, let’s talk later."
Because she knew that they still had things to talk about.
"Yes," Seodam said, nodding. "Let’s talk later."
Wonhee didn’t know if it was her imagination or not, but it seemed like the weather suddenly got colder...
... and everyone except for Soobin, Geon, Song Moonho, and Seodam took a step back away from them.
"WONHEE-YA, you look cool."
Wonhee couldn’t help but smile at Yejun after he praised her for looking cool while driving. "Thank you, Yejun-ah."
Yes, she knew how to drive.
In fact, she liked driving by herself until Ahyeon turned legal age and got him a driver’s license for almost every vehicle out there.
"But, Wonhee-ya, I think you’re driving a little too slow?"
"I’m driving within limits, Yejun-ah."
"But you’re driving Shin Geon’s car," Yejun said, smiling until her eyes turned into little crescent moons. "Just like the Big 4, Shin Geon’s registered cars are also exempted from traffic laws since he’s the director of the National Guide Center. I’m sure you won’t get into trouble if you drive a little faster?"
She was getting tempted.
However, as a law-abiding citizen of Korea, she had to hold back.
"I saw all your cars in the basement parking, Wonhee-ya."
"Most of them are fast cars. Some are even customized."
Wonhee smiled shyly. "Oh, I like driving fast."
"I can tell," Yejun said teasingly. "So, why don’t you show me how you drive fast?"
"Look, the road is empty because a Crack burst open in the area," he said, his face looking "innocent." "And don’t you miss driving fast?"
Now she was getting tempted.
"And, think about it, Wonhee-ya. As S-Class Awakened People, we are exempted from most laws. If that’s the case, then we’re not breaking any law. Right?"
[And I just really want to drive fast.]
"I think you made a valid point," Wonhee said, grinning. "Fasten your seatbelt, Mr. Hwang Yejun."
Yejun suddenly burst out laughing. "Aye, aye, ma’am."
And Yejun wouldn’t be laughing for so long.
After all, Wonhee forgot to say that she got her driving skills from Yool.
SOOBIN received the greetings of the APA Hunters, the members of the Autumn Guild, and the Special Forces (Cracks Division).
Most of the time, he would often forget his position in the government.
[Times help me remember that I’m the Vice President of APA.]
"There has been a miscommunication," Soobin said, getting straight to the point. "Graham, the Guildmaster of the Summer Guild, actually asked Song Moonho to take over this Crack because he needed to receive Guiding. But since it was an emergency, the members of the Autumn Guild and the members of the Summer Guild failed to communicate effectively. And that’s why I’m here. I’ve been informed that Graham handed over this Crack to Song Moonho. Since I’m aware of it, the paperworks needed for it could wait."
And since he already put it that way, the APA Hunters– led by his baby sister’s ex-boyfriend– couldn’t do anything but accept his decision.
[What can he do against the Vice President of APA anyway?]
"If that’s the case, then we’ll leave it to you, Vice President," Seodam said politely. "Thank you for informing us."
[I’ve always been curious as to why this boy doesn’t seem to care about Hee-ya when our Hee-ya was so in love with him.]
And how could Lee Seodam stay indifferent towards Wonhee all this time?
It was as if the Hunter wasn’t aware of what was going on around him.
"You’re Hunter Lee Seodam, right?"
"Yes, Vice President."
"Come with me," Soobin said, then he turned his back on Lee Seodam. "We need to talk."
