Chapter 166: Chapter 166

A female reporter from a major broadcasting station braced herself.

[Eomma, Appa, Unnie, Oppa, this may be your youngest’s last day alive. Please don’t be sad when I’m gone. I’ll miss you all.]

In fact, before she was sent there by her (annoying and cowardly) sunbae-nim, she had already written her last will.

It was because of the person she was supposed to cover today.

[Hunter Hwang Frost.]

The female reporter was afraid since she was there the day Hwang Frost went on a rampage a year ago.

What she saw back then wasn’t the legendary Hunter that everyone in Korea loved.

[It was a monster wearing human skin.]

She couldn’t forget that image.

[I bet more than half of Korea would ever forget that day and the horrifying image Hwang Frost left that day.]

She was aware that Hwang Frost finally found his Guide in Actress Chu Wonhee.

In fact, the female reporter was also at the A-list actress’ press conference where she pleaded to the public to give Hwang Frost a chance.

Despite Chu Wonhee’s plead, many people— especially the Civilians— were still skeptical of accepting Hwang Frost again. Hunters were naturally scary for ordinary people, even more so Hunters who had the tendency to snap and get drunk with power.

That was why most people were still afraid of Hwang Frost.

[Hunter Hwang Frost is so cool!]

The female reporter was impressed while watching Hwang Frost deal with Patrick Whitter and Aaron Davis— two World Ranker in the Top 40s— on his own.

And she realized that the Big 4’s strongest hadn’t gotten anywhere.

Moreover, unlike a year ago, Hwang Frost fought with elegance— he was quiet, calm, and quick. His attacks were effective and no unnecessary movements were made.

In short, it wasn’t an overkill this time.

[That just goes to show that Hunter Hwang Frost is really sober now.]

In just the blink of an eye, the one-sided fight was over.

The female reporter held her breath when Hwang Frost gracefully landed on the railing.

APA briefed the invited reporters earlier.

Hence, the female reporter and her colleagues were already waiting in the area where they were allowed to interview Hwang Frost.

[If we dare, that is.]

The female reporters and all her colleagues there were all Civilians.

Hence, no one could speak or move at the moment.

Hwang Frost was calm, but the pressure coming out of him was still enough to crush ordinary people.

But the female reporter could tell that the other Big 4 members were protecting them.

Jang Semi, Song Moonho, and Graham were there.

In fact, even the ’honorary member’ of the Big 4 was also there— Yeon Soobin, the Vice President of APA.

But Yeon Soobin and his husband Shin Geon already joined President Kwon Jiwoong and the other APA Hunters to deal with the apprehended World Ranklers. Hence, only the Big 4 were there to greet the reporters.

[No one is brave enough to speak up, though.]

The female reporter took a deep breath.

[My parents didn’t raise a coward!]

"Hunter Hwang Frost-nim!" the female reporter yelled to get Hwang Frost’s attention. "You apprehended the intruders without going on a rampage! Is it safe to assume that Hunter Hwang Frost-nim has fully recovered now?!"

Her high-pitched voice was due to nervousness.

"Are we live?" Hwang Frost asked, pointing at the camera behind the brave female reporter. "Real time coverage?"

The female reporter made an embarrassing sound when Hwang Frost suddenly appeared right in front of her.

She wasn’t the only one.

Most of her colleagues even fell on the ground— trembling.

The female reporter was also shaking in fear since it was a natural reaction of a Civilian towards a Hunter.

Especially if the said Hunter was THE Hwang Frost.

However, the female reporter felt safe.

And while standing that close to Hwang Frost, she noticed a few things.

First, Hwang Frost was unbelievably handsome.

[I mean, I already know that. He’s scary most of the time, so it’s hard to appreciate his good looks. But when he’s this calm, then his face... it can rival Hunter Song Moonho’s immaculate visual!]

Second, Hwang Frost was really tall and lean.

[He’s not that bulky, but he’s also not thin— he’s just perfectly toned.]

Third, Hwang Frost had a low and husky voice.

[It’s rare to hear him speak, but his voice is dreamy.]

The female reporter may or may not have fallen in love with Hwang Frost.

"To answer your question, Reporter-nim— no, I haven’t fully recovered yet," Hwang Frost said, addressing the female reporter POLITELY. His voice sounded blunt, but he wasn’t hostile. Moreover, he was looking at her while talking. "However, I can assure everyone that I won’t snap again."

The female reporter snapped back to reality. And then she gathered the courage to put her microphone near Hwang Frost’s face. She was still shaking, but she didn’t panic this time. "Can you give the public the assurance that you won’t go on a rampage again, Hunter Hwang Frost-nim?"

"I’m currently fueled by the power of love— and that’s the only assurance you’ll need," Hwang Frost said, laughing softly. It wasn’t a sneer or a mocking grin— it was a genuine laugh that softened up his face and lit up his pretty golden eyes. Then he looked at the camera with that rare gentle expression on his face. He even waved cutely! "Wonhee-ya, are you watching? I’m on the news. I miss you, so I’m coming home now~"

[Actress Chu is Hunter Hwang Frost’s exclusive Guide!]

[Are Hunter Hwang Frost and Actress Chu dating?!]

The female reporter had a secret.

She was actually a fan of ’love teams’ aka ’ships’. It wasn’t a thing before, until Hunters x Guides ’ships’ became popular in the country.

The three most famous ships in South Korea were Graham x Ahn Kisoo, Yeon Soobin x Shin Geon, and finally— Lee Seodam x Park Ruda.

She was a fan of Graham x Ahn Kisoo ship, but she was just a casual fan who would consume the ship’s contents from time to time.

However, this time, the female reporter had a feeling that she wouldn’t just be a casual fan.

[Should I start a fan page for the Hwang Yejun x Chu Wonhee ship?]

WONHEE was worried, but not for her safety.

Grandpa Suk-yong already got out of the car to deal with the square-headed villains who ambushed them in the middle of the (thankfully) empty road. Semi lived in a private land, so she didn’t have neighbors.

[But everything around here belongs to Unnie.]

The attackers knew that, so they probably chose to ambush Wonhee and her group on their way to Semi’s private land.

[But I know Grandpa Suk-yong is more than enough to deal with them.]

Moreover, Ahyeon was there.

He already covered the entire car with his barrier.

"Ahyeonnie, your barrier used to be transparent," Yool, who was sitting in the passenger seat, wondered out loud. "How come we can’t see anything outside now?"

Wonhee nodded in agreement. "Did your skill level up, Ahyeonnie?"

Ahyeon’s face beamed as he nodded. "My old barrier is weak on the inside. But, with the upgraded version, my barrier is now strong on the inside as well."

[He sounds so proud, and rightfully so.]

"It’s over," Ahyeon said excitedly. "Grandpa-nim has already gotten rid of the attackers!"

"You can see through your barrier?"

Yool just smiled and patted Ahyeon’s head.

"I’ll put down the barrier now to let Grandpa-nim in."

And, as soon as the barrier collapsed—

"Yool-ah!" Wonhee yelled when she saw a hand punching the window next to Yool— and then it grabbed Yool by the throat. "No!"

She was about to remove her seatbelt and protect her best friend.

But she realized that she was trapped inside the barrier that Ahyeon put around her to keep her safe.

Fortunately, Ahyeon didn’t forget to protect Yool as well.

Aheyon threw two daggers made of glass at the assailant. The weapons were pretty, but they were obviously dangerous. Come to think of it, the ’glass’ may not be ’glass’ at all. The daggers looked like they were made of Ahyeon’s transparent barrier.

[And Ahyeonnie aimed well...]

Wonhee saw it when the pretty glass dagger hit the assailant’s hand— causing him to let go of Yool (thankfully).

And then the second glass dagger hit the assailant’s eye.

That was when she saw his face.

Wonhee covered her mouth with her hands when she gasped.

She didn’t get to verify if what she saw was correct.

After all, Grandpa Suk-yong suddenly appeared behind the assailant.

But when her grandpa punched the back of the man’s head, the assailant melted like a candle wax.

And then ’it’ completely disappeared.

"Noona!" Ahyeon called her urgently. "Hyung is...!"

Wonhee immediately turned to Yool, and then she let out another gasp.

Yool’s neck was bleeding heavily— he was also pale and breathing heavily.

In fact, her best friend was barely conscious.

[Did the assailant try to slit Yool’s throat?]

"Your friend was poisoned," Grandpa Suk-yong said while pressing his hand against Yool’s bleeding neck. "Hee-ya, do you have a Special Grade potion with you?"

Wonhee immediately nodded. "I’ll get it from my Inventory, Grandpa!"

YEJUN got permission to leave after his short interview with the press.

His fellow Big 4 members and Kwon Jiwoong assured him that they would take care of the rest.

And that was fine with him.

[I’ve always been just the tank anyway. I hate bothersome things like writing a report or talking to people.]

Yejun immediately turned to Song Moonho after he heard the old man mention Wonhee’s name while talking on the phone.

Since he was still inside the tent that the Special Forces (Cracks Division) built to hide the Big 4 from the press, he heard the old man clearly. And he wasn’t the only one who turned to Song Moonho with curiosity.

Semi and Graham also turned to the old man. The rightful source is N()velFire.net

Yejun immediately checked his phone.

However, he didn’t get any messages or missed calls from Wonhee.

[But why did she call Song Moonho instead of me?]

Song Moonho’s face suddenly darkened. "Alright. I’ll be there right away."

That was a phrase worth worrying about.

Hence, Yejun and Semi asked the same question at the same time as soon as the call was over. "What happened?"

"Chu Wonhee and her group were ambushed," Song Moonho said, clenching his jaw. "But the target wasn’t Chu Wonhee."

"NOONA, don’t worry too much— the doctor said Yool Hyung is stable now."

Wonhee let out a sigh of relief after hearing what Ahyeon said.

Fortunately, they arrived at Semi’s mansion safely after the ambush.

Thanks to the Special Grade potion that she gave Yool, her best friend made it to the mansion without losing too much blood. But potions weren’t that effective on Civilians, so Yool still needed to be treated by a physician.

When they arrived at the mansion, she immediately called for her sister’s family doctor.

[Fortunately, since Eunseok and my brother-in-law are both Civilians, Semi Unnie made sure that they have a stay-in doctor here since their house is pretty far from the city.]

Of course, that also meant that the ’clinic’ there was like a small hospital.

"Hee-ya, you should rest for now," Grandpa Suk-yong said while patting her back. "The doctor will keep an eye on your friend."

Wonhee was about to say something.

But, suddenly, the two people she was expecting finally arrived. Obviously, the men used their teleportation skills to get there.

[Unnie probably lifted the barrier around her house for them.]

Yejun walked towards her with a worried look on his face. "Wonhee-ya—"

"Moonho-ssi," Wonhee called Song Moonho’s name sternly, walking past Yejun to get to the old man in a hurry. "I saw it— your brother attacked Yool."
