Chapter 124: Chapter 124
WONHEE thought Yejun was going to hand her over to her older siblings, so she was surprised when he approached Ahyeon instead.
Her heart broke when she saw Ahyeon’s poor state.
Ahyeon had his trembling arms raised while single-handedly controlling the barrier that he cast to protect the Blue House and every single person under it.
She also felt bad for the Yool and the others who were suddenly forced to kneel.
[It’s definitely because of Yejun’s crushing aura.]
"Yejun-ah, can you suppress it?" Wonhee whispered. "Yool and the others can’t stand..."
"I’ll try," Yejun said nonchalantly. "But everyone here should know that I’m not considerate. It wasn’t my fault that those herbivores dared to be in the same space as I am when they can’t handle my aura." He clicked his tongue, obviously looking down on the Hunters who fell to their knees. "I’m only doing this because you asked, Wonhee-ya."
She just sighed while shaking her head.
Fortunately, Yejun really granted her request.
For some reason, she couldn’t feel the terrifying aura oozing out of Yejun.
But she could tell that he suppressed it when Yool and the others could finally breathe normally again.
After that, those who fell to their knees stood up as quickly as they could.
But Yool, a Civilian, found it hard to get up.
Wonhee was about to ask Yejun to put her down so she could help Yool, but she changed her mind when she saw both Graham and Song Moonho grabbing Yool by each of his arms.
[Is that friend of mine making his own harem or something...?]
"Hwang Yejun, how long are you going to hold my baby sister?" Semi confronted Yejun. "Is our Hee-ya injured? I’ll kill you if she got as much as a scratch."
"Nah, Wonhee is safe and sound, Noona. Not even a scratch or a mosquito bite," Yejun assured Semi. "I just like holding Wonhee in my arms."
Of course, that cheeky remark earned Yejun a smack at the back of his head from Soobin.
"I told you to stop hitting on our Hee-ya," Soobin scolded Yejun. "Put her down so Geon can check on her condition. We can’t trust your words alone."
Yejun frowned, but he carefully put Wonhee down.
"Thank you," Wonhee said, and then she turned to Geon. "Oppa..."
She suddenly became emotional because she remembered what Yejun said about how Geon fought hard to make this country safe for Guides.
That made her respect her brother-in-law even more.
[I wish there was a term that exists to describe an older brother’s husband.] 1
Unfortunately, that term didn’t exist in the Korean Language.
[That’s why I only call Geon ’Oppa,’ though I’d call him ’Brother-in-law’ in English sometimes.]
"What’s wrong, Hee-ya?" Geon asked worriedly. "Did Yejun do something bad to you?"
Semi and Soobin immediately glared at Yejun.
Then, out of nowhere, Wonhee’s grandfather appeared behind Yejun and grabbed Yejun by the nape.
"Did you make my granddaughter cry, you little rascal?"
Yejun smiled awkwardly. "I didn’t know you were back, Master."
Wonhee was surprised to hear Yejun speak politely to her grandfather.
[I didn’t know that Yejun is close to my grandpa...]
And did Yejun call her grandfather ’Master?’
"Hwang Yejun, what is the ’plan’ doing now?" Song Moonho asked when he approached them with Graham and Yool following behind him. "Do you have time to chatter?"
"I still have three minutes before the breaks," Yejun said, and then he turned to Ahyeon. "Baby herbivore, can your barrier withstand 10k tons?"
That was roughly 22 million pounds!
No wonder Ahyeon suddenly went pale. "I-I think my barrier c-can withstand it."
Everyone looked pretty surprised by Ahyeon’s answer.
Wonhee was particularly touched by that moment.
[Our Ahyeonnie is finally gaining more confidence.]
"Just 22 million pounds?" Song Moonho asked, slightly dubious. "That’s just roughly the same weight as the Eiffel Tower. I mean, it’s still heavy. But I expected a mountain to weigh more, especially since it’s covered in snow."
"I also thought it was a mountain at first. But after lifting it with my , I realized that the snow only covered the tortoise’s shell," Yejun explained. "Yeah, the shape of the shell is weird. But all dungeon monsters are strange like that."
"That makes sense," Song Moonho said, nodding. "But are you going to drop the final boss on top of Do Ahyeon’s barrier?"
"Is that a new form of bullying?" Graham asked. "Hwang Frost, there’s a whole mountain behind the Blue Palace. Why don’t you just throw and fight the monster there?"
"Because I do what I want," Yejun said nonchalantly, looking at Ahyeon with sparkling eyes. "Baby herbivore, I’m your father from now on."
Ahyeon looked shocked but couldn’t talk back to a member of the Big 4. Latest content published on novel~fire~net
"I’ll raise you well, my son."
This time, Ahyeon went pale and looked like he was about to cry.
"Yah," Wonhee complained, lightly hitting Yejun in the arm. "Don’t bully Ahyeonnie."
"I’m not bullying our son, Wonhee-ya."
"I’m Ahyeon’s father, so of course you’re the mother," Yejun said, gently pinching Wonhee’s cheek. "We’ll raise our baby herbivore’s level, Wonhee-ya–"
"Enough," Wonhee scolded Yejun while covering his mouth with her hand. After all, she could see her family members ready to beat him to a pulp already. "Yejun-ah, go and finish the monster ASAP. Then let’s go home."
[Before my family kills you.]
Yejun closed his eyes and kissed the palm of Wonhee’s hands.
That gesture may or may not have made her blush.
[This brat, really...]
"Fifteen minutes," Yejun said when he opened his now glowing golden eyes. "I’ll finish it in fifteen minutes, Wonhee-ya."
"Okay," Wonhee said while withdrawing her hand. "Fighting, Yejun-ah."
That was pretty embarrassing.
[During my prime, I could take down a dungeon boss of this level in just five minutes. Ten, if I have to kill it carefully for its useful body parts.]
But, at least, he regained half of his original skills.
[Wonhee’s Guiding is so effective. All the Hunters in the world would want her as a Guide as soon as they realized how valuable she is as a Guide.]
Of course, he couldn’t let that happen.
"I have to show the world that they’ll have to get through me first before they can even dream of approaching my Wonhee," Yejun said, his golden eyes glowing while watching the giant white tortoise break free from the while the two of them were both suspended mid-air. "But first, I have to announce my comeback as the Big 4’s strongest."
Because he could only fend off the enemies if they feared him.
Yejun’s reputation hit rock bottom when he fell from grace and was demoted to being an X-Class Hunter.
The entire Awakened World was probably looking down on him now.
But that would end today.
The giant white tortoise let out a deafening unintelligible cry as soon as it broke the
And then the monster fell on the barrier that Do Ahyeon made.
It made a loud crashing sound, and the barrier vibrated strongly as a result.
However, the barrier remained standing– unscratched.
Yes, not even a crack even though the giant white tortoise weighed at least 10k tons. That was roughly twenty-two million pounds.
Yejun laughed because he was thrilled – because it was the first time he met a Hunter who could create a barrier as strong as his .
[Do Ahyeon, you are worthy to be mine and Wonhee’s first "son."]
Yejun cracked his knuckles and grinned at the giant white tortoise whose long neck was stretching trying to reach him.
[It looks like a snake.]
And it could be, since the giant white tortoise actually had a forked tongue.
So, he checked the giant’s stats.
Of course, he could do that because he was Hwang Yejun.
[Monster Type: Giant White Tortoise
Unique Characteristics: Cone-shaped shell that is as hard as steel. Venomous snakehead. Will stomp anything and everything in its way.
Just S-Grade? From a Special-Grade dungeon?
Yejun was expecting a Special Grade Monster from a Special-Grade dungeon, but it seemed like the final boss wasn’t the reason why the dungeon was graded like that.
The first thing that entered his mind was Wonhee’s broccoli friend.
[So, the Crack was graded that way because Wonhee’s "legendary" friend was there and not because the final boss was a Special-Grade monster.]
Then it was easier than he thought.
Yejun grinned, and then he skillfully avoided the giant white tortoise’s big snakehead before he landed on the top of its head.
And then he stomped on the monster’s head, quickly covering its long neck in ice.
He skidded on the ice as if the giant white tortoise’s ice-covered neck was a slide.
Of course, everything happened in just the blink of an eye.
Soon, Yejun reached the monster’s shell which was shaped like a mountain.
And then he punched it.
If he were in his prime, he would only need to punch it ten times at max to break down the monster’s shell that was as hard as steel.
However, most of his skills were still restricted.
So, he had to throw at least fifty punches before he could crack the mountain-like shell.
And at least two hundred more punches for the cracks to spread all over the "snowy mountain" on top of the frozen giant white tortoise.
[I’ve really gotten weak.]
Yejun was frustrated at his "weakness."
But, unbeknownst to him, the people below him watched in awe as he one-sidedly attacked the S-Grade monster...
... because only Hwang Frost could single-handedly destroy a monster with punches.
Yejun just wasn’t aware that his standards for being strong were way different from normal people’s standards– so, he didn’t know that his "weakened" state was still too strong even for S-Class Hunters.
WONHEE may be an Awakened Person now, but she was still a Guide who wasn’t built for combat.
Her vision improved to the point that she could see Yejun clearly above the monster when he was still. However, she couldn’t follow his movements when he started attacking the giant white tortoise.
And now it seemed like Yejun was throwing punches at the monster’s cone-shaped shell.
[I didn’t know throwing punches that fast was possible until this moment.]
Yejun– no, Hwang Frost was really amazing.
[He’s the Big 4’s strongest for a very good reason.]
"The Ice Demon is out," Graham said nervously while watching Yejun. "He’s going to use that stupidly god-tier skill, isn’t he? He only throws punches when he’s preparing for that skill."
"That seems to be the case," Song Moonho said, and then he turned to Ahyeon worriedly. "Do Ahyeon, can your barrier handle at least sixty million pounds?"
Wonhee gasped loudly. "What, why? Is the monster going to get heavier?"
"Yes, the monster," Song Moonho said, smiling. "But not the giant white tortoise."
So, the "monster" in this case was Yejun?
Wonhee turned to Ahyeon worriedly. "Ahyeonnie..."
She trailed off because she realized that Ahyeon was staring blankly into air as if he was looking at his Status Window.
"H-Hwang Frost-nim told me to brace myself. Apparently, my barrier must withstand at least 65 million pounds this time," Ahyeon said nervously, and then he turned to her with teary eyes. "N-Noona, he’s crazy..."
Ahyeon rarely said bad words, and he rarely used them to describe people.
But the fact that Ahyeon did both must only mean that he was really upset with Yejun.
Wonhee was about to tell Ahyeon that he didn’t have to push himself too hard because the other members of Big 4 were there, but she stopped when her Status Window popped up.
And it showed someone else’s stats.
[Hey, what happened to privacy...]
Her thoughts trailed off when she read the stats flashing before her eyes.
Current Status Level: C-Class
Possible 2nd Awakening Maximum Level: S-Class!
Guide Chu Wonhee’s Skill can help Hunter Do Ahyeon level up quickly!
Would you like to help Hunter Do Ahyeon level up?
Wonhee immediately pressed the button, ignoring the fact that she had just unlocked a new skill that she wasn’t even aware of. Ahyeon was her priority, after all. "You can do it, my son!"
