Chapter 107: Chapter 107

Yool let out a sigh when he saw Graham running towards him.

[I managed to escape Song Moonho-ssi since Meguro Shun threw a tantrum last night saying how he was tired and shit. Fortunately, Ahjussi still dropped me off at the hotel.]

And, thankfully, Song Moonho didn’t appear this morning to bother him.

"Yool-ah, I’ve missed you," Graham said, wrapping an arm around Yool’s shoulders. "You’re here to see Chu Wonhee, right? Let’s go together."

Graham was here for Wonhee.

How else would they accidentally meet in front of his dear friend’s apartment complex?

"Why are you visiting Wony so early in the morning?"

"I was invited to Semi Noona’s house, and she asked me to pick up Chu Wonhee since Chu Wonhee is moving into Noona’s house today."

[Wony told me about it, so she asked me to come with her.]

"But why are you alone?" Yool asked curiously. "Is it alright for the Summer Guild’s Guildmaster to wander alone?"

Graham grinned. "I’m practicing the skill that I gained recently."

"What skill... never mind. I shouldn’t be asking since I’m just a Civilian."

"I gained the teleportation skill that Soobin Hyung and Hwang Yejun have," Graham said cheerfully. "I think Semi Noona and Song Moonho got the same skill when we signed the contract to protect Chu Wonhee."

"Doesn’t Song Moonho already have the teleportation skill? He appears and disappears whenever he wants."

"No, it’s not a teleportation skill. Song Moonho just opens portals and uses them to get to one place to another."

"There are two downsides, though. First, only he can use the portals. Second, the distance limit is narrow," Graham explained. "Assuming that the teleportation skill that the System granted to us is the same, then I’d say our teleportation skill is better than Song Moonho’s ability to open portals. We can teleport up to six people with us, and the distance limit is generous. But using our teleportation skill consumes our Mana, so that’s kinda meh."

"If using your teleportation skill consumes Mana, then don’t use it for useless stuff," Yool scolded Graham. "Don’t waste your Mana– you’ll never know when a Crack will burst open."

Graham just laughed at Yool’s worries, and then he suddenly stopped and looked up at the sky with a scary look on his face.

Yool also looked up...

... and was shocked when the top floor suddenly exploded, causing the ground to shake.

[That’s Wony’s penthouse!]

"Yool-ah, call the Special Forces and ask them to evacuate the residents here," Graham said hurriedly, his body already turning translucent. "Stay here– I’ll go and save Chu Wonhee."

"Got it," Yool said while pulling out his phone from the pocket of his trousers. "Don’t lose, Graham-ssi."

Wonhee felt like she’d have a heart attack while watching Ahyeon fight while she was safe and sound inside the dome-like barrier that he created to protect her.

Well, she was safe for now.

She didn’t know if the barrier would collapse since a square-headed stranger– dressed in a white hoodie, black joggers, and black sneakers– kept on hitting the barrier with a huge axe.

Yeah, the stranger wore a square-shaped mascot head similar to an old television.

It was a bit creepy since the "screen" of the "television" was flashing a smiley face.

[They look like a psychopath killer in a thriller movie...]

The attackers literally fell from the sky and broke into the penthouse through the broken glass wall.

Fortunately, Ahyeon was quick and put a barrier around Wonhee right away.

The enemies were pretty quick, too.

But Wonhee wasn’t really worried about the lunatic trying to break the barrier that was protecting her.

[I trust Ahyeonnie and his skill, so I know the barrier won’t collapse.]

But in case she turned out to be underestimating the enemy, she had a back-up plan.

[I’m going to borrow Yejun’s power.]

Hence, Wonhee focused her attention on watching Ahyeon’s fight.

Poor Ahyeon was fighting a square-headed stranger who was petite compared to the square-headed lunatic trying to break the barrier that was protecting Wonhee.

But even though Ahyeon’s opponent was smaller than Ahyeon, the enemy was agile.

Worse, the square-headed enemy was using a dagger that they were using to stab and slash Ahyeon who was already bleeding from head to toe.

Ahyeon was also using a dagger to fight his opponent.

The problem was the unseen sniper who was aiding the knife-wielding lunatic.

Every now and then, when Ahyeon was about to get a clear hit on his opponent, a bullet would appear out of nowhere.

Fortunately, Ahyeon was quick enough to block the bullets with his barrier.

But while Ahyeon was blocking the bullet, the opponent would take that opportunity to hit Ahyeon with his knife.

[Ahyeonnie could block the broken glass windows to stop the sniper’s attacks, but he probably didn’t want the barrier he used to protect me to grow weak if he created another one. He told me once that it’s his biggest weakness– he can only create one sturdy barrier at a time because it consumes too much Mana. The barriers that he makes after creating a sturdy one become frailer and frailer.]

That was why some of the bullets still grazed Ahyeon despite him using a shield to protect himself.

Wonhee felt bad that Ahyeon was sacrificing himself for her safety.

[Potions... I’ll heal Ahyeonnie’s wounds with the potions I got from Semi Noona...]

Wonhee was very surprised when she heard the sound of a glass breaking.

When she turned to her side, she got nervous when she saw the long cracks that appeared all over the barrier.

It was the villain’s laugh.

And the lunatic was laughing because his axe finally managed to create a small hole in the barrier.

As if to scare Wonhee, the square-headed villain put his index finger in the hole.

"I’m sorry," Wonhee said, raising her hand– her palm facing the enemy. "I’m going to hurt you."

[Tannie, please lend me Yejun’s power!]

Fortunately, the System followed her will. Googlᴇ search novel[f]ire.net

A sharp and long needle of ice came out of Wonhee’s palm and hit the finger poked into the small hole.

The square-headed villain was too slow to pull his finger out.

[Or maybe I just sent the needle ice flying faster?]

Anyway, as a result, the villain’s finger was cut off before he could completely pull it out from the hole.

The square-headed villain yelled in pain after he got his finger cut off, backing away from the barrier while holding his hand with a severed finger.

[I’m sorry, but you deserve that...]

Wonhee frowned after seeing the blood splatter, but she braced herself and swallowed her cries.

After all, she wasn’t done yet.

She ignored the severed finger on the floor as she quickly walked towards the part of the barrier with a hole.

And then she pressed her palm against it.

[Tannie, please help me use Yejun’s ice to create a new layer of barrier!]

Once again, the System helped her.

She felt a cold sensation form in the center of her palm, and then that coldness spread on the surface as she touched.

When the cold sensation started to hurt, she quickly removed her hand from the barrier.

And then she watched the thin layer of ice not only cover the hole but also serve as a second layer of shield.

Wonhee was about to be relieved, but then she saw the square-headed villain’s axe turn into a gun.

For some reason, she felt like the new weapon was more powerful than the previous one.

She found herself shutting her eyes tight when the villain pulled the trigger.

[Please let the barriers be sturdy enough to protect me!]

And then she felt it.

A blinding light hit her already closed eyes, and then the air suddenly felt hot.

Wonhee opened her eyes and saw the square-headed villain yelling in pain while being burned alive by a huge red flame.

The gun that gave her the fright was melting on the floor after the villain dropped it.

Wonhee turned to her side and was relieved to see that reinforcement had arrived. "Graham-ssi..."

She immediately noticed the wall of fire.

Now Ahyeon was fighting the square-headed enemy without worrying about the sniper.

[I have something else to do...]

Wonhee looked at the melting gun, and only half of it was left. "Tannie, help me retrieve that gun."

Graham was upset with himself because he almost got to Chu Wonhee late.

He teleported to the penthouse as fast as he could, but an annoying sniper distracted him for a moment.

The damned sniper tried to shoot the Civilians living below the penthouse.

Hence, he was forced to create a huge wall of fire to block the sniper from shooting innocent people.

Setting up a huge wall of fire took longer than he’d like.

When he finally reached the penthouse, he saw a square-headed assailant about to shoot Chu Wonhee with a gun that gave him the creeps.

Something compelled him to destroy the weapon.

So, instead of simply disarming the villain, he found himself burning him to ashes along with the creepy gun.

[APA will scold me again for killing a person, but whatever.]

The robotic voice of the villain Do Ahyeon was fighting snapped Graham out of his trance.

He wanted to catch the enemy for questioning, but a slime-like substance "swallowed the villain and disappeared in just the blink of an eye.

Graham thought it was a shame that he killed one of the attackers and let the other get away, but Chu Wonhee’s safety was his priority.

Do Ahyeon immediately ran to Chu Wonhee.

Graham noticed that Chu Wonhee was looking at something on the floor intently, and so he followed her gaze.

Half of the gun that gave Graham the creeps earlier was covered in ice, away from the burning half of it.

[Did Chu Wonhee want the gun?]

Graham wondered if Chu Wonhee also thought the gun was weird and creepy despite looking normal.

WONHEE felt all the strength leave her body when Ahyeon lifted the barrier.

She didn’t like the smell of burning flesh that greeted her.

In fact, she couldn’t even look at the ashes left by the square-headed villain who tried to kill her.

The only good thing she saw was she managed to save half of the gun that almost melted.

[I need Soobin Oppa to check on that gun.]

"Wony Noona, are you hurt anywhere?" Ahyeon asked worriedly, standing in front of her as if covering the sight of the burning red flame behind. "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine, Ahyeonnie," Wonhee said weakly, her heart breaking while looking at the cuts on Ahyeon’s face, neck, and torso. She noticed that her body was trembling a bit, but she ignored it since Ahyeon had gone through something worse than her. "Let’s heal your wounds first."

"Let’s get out of here first, Chu Wonhee."

Wonhee and Ahyeon both turned to Graham.

"This place is not safe for you anymore," Graham said, looking at the ashes of the man he burned without an ounce of guilt. "We should move."

Wonhee’s morning started horribly.

And things started to go south when she received that weird call from Park Ruda.

[Oppa tried to convince me to leave my penthouse as if he knew something would happen. Was it just a coincidence that today was the last day of the audition he wanted me to try so he asked me to "play" with him? Or did he really try to save me?]

But why would Park Ruda save Wonhee?

"Wony Noona?" Ahyeon called her name softly, and then he became teary-eyed while looking at her face. "Noona, you look so pale. You must have been shocked."

"I’m going to get changed first," Wonhee declared, clenching her hands. "I have an audition to take."
