Chapter 106: Chapter 106
WONHEE just fell in love.
Hamin cooked four dishes from the Octocagon that they bought from him.
[Hamin-ssi sold the Octocagon for 3 billion won since it’s a rare adult Sea Monster with twelve healthy hearts. Graham-ssi paid for it and not me. He said he’ll take care of all expenses related to Ahn Kisoo-ssi’s treatment.]
After Hamin carefully extracted the Octocagon’s twelve hearts, Wonhee stored them in her Inventory.
The Octocagon’s hearts looked like diamond-cut blue crystals.
[They look fragile, but they’re actually sturdy and heavy.]
Anyways, Hamin cooked the Octocagon and made four dishes out of it.
Since the Sea Monsters was similar to an octopus, Hamin made Korean spicy octopus stir fry, octopus pasta, char-grilled octopus, and even takoyaki (upon Graham’s request). The Fall Guildmaster made all of those dishes with Chef Ryung Dae’s help, hence they didn’t wait long.
After serving the dishes to them, Hamin and Chef Ryung Fae left the dining hall to give their group privacy.
"Hee-ya, you like your octopus grilled, right? Have some more."
Wonhee knew that octopus was a good source of protein, so she allowed herself to eat more than usual for tonight. "Okay, Unnie."
Semi had finally joined them after Hamin showed Wonhee the Fall Guild’s Rooftop Dome Aquarium.
Fortunately, nothing happened with the reporters that her older sister chased away.
"Unnie, thank you for dealing with the reporters for me," Wonhee said when she was almost done with her second plate of char-grilled octopus. She was eyeing the octopus stir fry this time. "I realize that all eyes are on me at the moment after I revealed my class, so the reporters are more insistent on chasing me around for some scoop. So, I’m thinking of moving into your place in the meantime until I find a new safer place to live in."
After all, she couldn’t live with her older sibling forever.
[Maybe I should buy a house in the middle of nowhere and ask Yejun to turn it into an ice fortress or something?]
Wonhee caught herself thinking about Yejun again.
[Maybe I miss him more than I thought?]
"Good thinking, Hee-ya," Semi said, obviously pleased with her decision. "Your nephew will be happy about this. My husband has been worried about you all this time, too."
Wonhee was close to Semi’s husband because her brother-in-law was the one who taught her everything she needed to learn about managing her inheritance.
"When are you moving into my house, Hee-ya?"
"Tomorrow, Unnie," Wonhee said. "I want to pack my things on my own..."
She trailed off when her Status Window suddenly popped up in front of her.
Semi noticed it right away, so her older sister nodded in understanding.
[As promised, here is the recipe to make the potion that will get rid of Guide Ahn Kisoo’s Status Abnormality! You don’t have the skill to read the recipe, so you may share it with the God Alchemist!]
So, the System was asking Semi to make the potion.
[They should have contacted Unnie from the start...]
"Unnie, the System already sent me the recipe."
Graham and Ahn Kisoo immediately turned to Wonhee.
"I don’t have the skill to make the potion, so the System asked Semi Unnie to do it," Wonhee explained. "Unnie, can I send the recipe to you? I can’t read it because it’s written in a strange language."
"It must be the language that only S-Class Hunter-Alchemists can decipher," Semi said. "Send it to me, Hee-ya."
"Okay, Unnie," Wonhee said. "Tannie, can you send it to my unnie?"
[Tannie: Okay, Chu Wonhee!]
Semi later paused and looked blankly into the air, and then she nodded. "Graham-ah, you have to come with me to my Isolated Laboratory and make the potion with me. I need your red flame. Bring 100 gold coins, too."
"Okay, Noona," Graham said. "Do you know how long it might take? I feel nervous that the two of us will have to be absent for a while when Yejun isn’t here."
"I think we can do it in a day or two," Semi said. "Don’t you trust my skills?"
Graham gave Semi a thumbs up. "I trust you 100%, Noona– no, God Alchemist-nim."
"Good," Semi said, nodding. "I’ll prepare my Isolated Laboratory first, so come to my house tomorrow morning, Graham-ah."
"Yes?" Wonhee turned to the person who called her. "Kisoo-ssi?"
"Thank you, Wonhee-ssi," Ahn Kisoo said sincerely. "I mean it."
Aww. The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the novel·fıre·net
To be honest, Wonhee was happy to be finally of use.
The guilt that she had felt for living well all this time was starting to feel light.
"It’s nothing, Kiho-ssi," Wonhee said, smiling shyly. "It’s my duty as a Guide to help a fellow Guide."
AFTER THE dinner, Wonhee headed straight to the barbecue restaurant where her fansite masters were gathered.
Her manager, Billie, and other staff from her agency were already there.
She asked Billie and the staff to bring the gift boxes to the fans first.
"Unnie, I’ll just greet my fans first," Wonhee said to Semi who was sitting next to her in the backseat. "I’ll be quick."
Semi was supposed to stay at Wonhee’s penthouse.
But since the System asked her older sister to make the potion, Semi decided to go home and prepare her Isolated Laboratory first.
Even so, her older sister insisted on making sure Wonhee would get home safely.
[So, here we are now.]
"Alright, I’ll be waiting here," Semi said, nodding. "Have fun, Hee-ya."
Wonhee then entered the barbecue restaurant with Ahyeon.
As soon as she did, the entire place fell silent.
The fansite masters looked shocked at first, and then they finally snapped out of it.
"Oh, god. Our Nation’s Face Card doesn’t decline, indeed!"
"Chu Wonhee, we love you!"
Wonhee couldn’t help but smile shyly at her fans’ enthusiastic greetings.
She opened her mouth to thank them one by one.
But seeing the love and warmth in her fans’ eyes moved her heart.
As a result, Wonhee burst out crying.
A chorus of "aww" erupted from the audience.
"Wony-ah, don’t cry!"
"How come you’re still pretty even when you cry, Chu Wonhee?!"
That question thrown at Wonhee lightheartedly was obviously meant to cheer her up.
The others who were on the verge of crying suddenly burst out laughing.
Of course, Wonhee laughed as well while wiping the tears off of her face with the handkerchief that Ahyeon silently handed to her.
"I feel sorry for making you all worried about me, everyone. But I most feel grateful to you– to every single person who supported me unwaveringly. And I’m talking about everyone, not just the people here at the moment," Wonhee said in a cracked voice. She decided to speak to everyone because she saw some of the fansite masters taking a video, and she let them do so. "Thank you, really– especially for staying with me through thick and thin."
Yool clicked his tongue while browsing through a sketchy online shop.
He was still in his messy apartment, but Kang Jina was already gone.
Song Moonho’s people came and dragged the stalker away.
Then Song Moonho stepped out for a minute to make sure that Kang Jina "wouldn’t be able to remember" what happened there.
[It’s alright since I already got the information I need.]
According to Kang Jina, his crazy stalker, that was the website where she sold all the stuff that she stole from Yool’s apartment.
[I have to find the buyer who bought the vault.]
"Are you really Gong Yool?"
Yool raised his head and found Song Moonho standing right in front of him. "You didn’t believe that crazy stalker’s ridiculous claim, did you?"
"I’m not sure," Song Moonho said calmly. "If an Outbreak could happen, switching souls would be possible, too. Am I wrong?"
Damn this old man and his sharpness.
[I WANT TO act again.]
That was the first thought that crossed Wonhee’s mind when she woke up that morning.
And then, while she was making avocado toast for her and Ahyeon’s breakfast, she remembered what Dahyun Unnie, her oldest fansite master, said to her last night:
["We understand that your life has now changed after you awakened as an S-Class Guide, Wony-ah. Of course, we’re genuinely happy for you. But, deep in our hearts, we also want our Actress Wony to do well. Our Wony-ah shines the brightest when she’s acting because our Wony-ah loves acting the most."]
It was true that Wonhee felt fulfilled as a person when she was being useful as a Guide.
However, she still loved acting.
[I should hurry up and choose my next acting project.]
Her trains of thought were disrupted when her phone rang.
[I should have blocked his number...]
Wonhee didn’t want to answer Ruda’s call, but something compelled her to pick up her phone.
<"Wonhee-ya, you should leave your penthouse today since the weather is nice.">
"I don’t understand what you’re saying, Oppa."
<"Today is the last day of the audition. You’ll regret it if you don’t audition for that role. So, come out and play with me.">
Wonhee was confused and, honestly, she felt a chill down her spine.
Wonhee was shocked when Ahyeon suddenly stood in front of her protectively, extending his hands while creating a barrier.
She was confused, and she got even more confused when her Status Window popped up.
THE SYSTEM IS TEMPORARILY BOOSTING HUNTER DO AHYEON’S STATUS LEVEL TO PROTECT GUIDE CHU WONHEE’S LIFE!
C-CLASS HUNTER DO AHYEON --> A-CLASS HUNTER DO AHYEON!]
[Ahyeonnie leveled up?!]
Wonhee was shocked, but she didn’t have the luxury to dwell on that because she saw a flying object break the glass wall of her penthouse, and then it hit Ahyeon’s barrier– causing an explosion that shook the entire building.
Only then did it hit her.
[We’re under attack!]
Yejun touched the back of his neck, annoyed that he suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
He was in the middle of fighting five wyverns, in the harsh snowstorm.
He was bleeding from head to toe.
And he was running out of Mana.
Yejun could die if he lowered his guard for a moment, but he stopped thinking when Wonhee’s face entered his mind.
It was followed by his Status Window popping up in front of him.
GUIDE CHU WONHEE IS UNDER ATTACK!]
Yejun’s eyes, which were already light orange before he entered the dungeon, had become glowing red again. "Wonhee-ya..." He whispered to himself, and then he opened his hands– gathering the remaining Mana in his Core to create two ice swords. "Wait for me."
