Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Chris
I woke up and saw Ashley beside me. She was still sleeping. She looks so beautiful.
I got up and saw the time. It was 5 PM. Well, we will be up all night I guess, cause she is still sleeping. I freshened up and came out into the room. I saw her, she was awake now. My hairs were wet and I was drying them with a towel and she was smiling looking at my hairs and my face simultaneously.
“What’s up?” I asked her and she looked down.
“Nothing” she whispered after some time. I went to her and sat down beside her, after throwing the towel away.
“Look at me,” I said and she looked at my eyes. “You look so beautiful when you blush”
“You are looking hot with your messy hair,” she said but then looked down and got up. “I--I--”
“I am your boyfriend. There is nothing wrong with that” I told her.
“Ah, yes… but still”
I smiled at her shyness. “So, should I do messy hair from today so that I know I am hot for you?”
She looked at me and nodded in denial. “I don’t wanna die every day”
I smirked. “Really?”
“Yup”
“Okay. Don’t then” I got up and as I was going towards the dressing table, she pulled me and kissed me.
“I didn’t say I don’t wanna die today,” she whispered and I kissed her back.
“Okay, as you wish, mi amor,” I replied whilst smiling. I got away after a little while.
“So…” she looked at me. “I’m finally up. Now, what are we gonna do?”
“Well…” I smiled. “Anything”
“How are you the best boyfriend ever?”
“Nah, nothing like that,” I said. “It is your influence”
She blushed.
“Alright, let’s go out”
I nodded and combed my hair. She went to the shower.
“Uh… C-Chris!” I heard her voice from the bathroom.
“Want me with you?” I teased her.
“No joke Chris…”
I sensed a little seriousness in her voice, so I went to the door of the bathroom. “Is everything alright?” I questioned.
“Come inside,” she said.
“What? But--”
“I am wearing my clothes, just come!” she demanded and I slowly opened the door. It was unlocked already. She was in her top and looked worried.
“Ash?” I looked at her with concern.
“Chris, there was something…” she hugged me suddenly.
“What? Where?”
“I don’t know! I think that window…” she whispered.
“Tell me clearly, Ash,” I told her and she nodded.
“Firstly, let’s go to the room,”
“Alright,” I held her hand and took her to the room.
“There was something…” she started telling me. “Or someone near that window”
“I will take care of it, Ash, don’t worry,” I assured her.
“I don’t feel right, Chris…”
I hugged her. “It is alright”
She sighed. “I hope”
I checked the CCTV camera footage of the window’s side, and I couldn’t see anything or anyone. Maybe it was just her illusion.
She was on the balcony, as she needed some fresh air. I went to her.
“Mmh. To freshen up the mood, may I have the honor to go out with you?”
She smiled. “That would be awesome”
I looked at her lovingly and kept my hand around her nape.
“Aishh, let’s go…” she said.
“Wait,” I kept my other hand there too.
“You are too romantic to be the cold boss!” She exclaimed.
“Who said I am the cold boss to you? Who said I am romantic to anyone other than you?”
“Yes, you aren’t and don’t you dare, either!” She pulled me by my shirt.
“Oh, so you are threatening me?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Of course”
I laughed. “Alright, good going”
She laughed too. Finally.
“So, let’s go!” I exclaimed.
Heather
“Sure,” I complimented Sarah.
“Thanks, Heather”
“Bye Sarah,”
“Bye,” She replied and left my office.
Sarah.
I hate this girl.
But I have to be good to her.
I feel frustrated every time I talk to her.
My phone started ringing and I picked it up.
“Job done!” he exclaimed.
“Your salary doubled, Jason!” I replied back.
“Thank you, mam! I am so happy!”
I cut the call and sat back comfortably. This is one of the best days of my life.
“May I come in?” I heard a voice.
“Come in”
“Mam. According to recent data, our company is the second leading company in the world. The first one remains to be The Brown Association. In order to--”
“Cut to the chase”
“We need to get this deal to make it to the top”
“How do we do that?”
“Snatch this deal from Mr. Chris Brown”
Ashley
“Cute!” I looked at the teddy bear and Chris smirked at me.
“I bet not more than me”
“You aren’t cute,” she made a face and looked at the shopkeeper.
“How much for this?”
“This size, 27$”
“Alright, here--”
“Ash!”
I turned around and looked at him. He didn’t say anything, just kept looking in my eyes.
“Enter the values and your account, and send them to yourself. Take 3$ extra,” he said to the shopkeeper but kept looking at me.
The shopkeeper, hesitantly, as I suppose, took the phone Chris extended towards him and did the same.
“Done, sir,” I heard the shopkeeper.
“Take 10$ more, but wait for two minutes,” he said.
“What are you doing…?” I questioned him.
“Nothing,” he said and I noticed a tear in his eyes.
“Chris, why are you--”
“Done,” Chris looked at the shopkeeper and took the phone and the teddy.
“Let’s go home,” he said whilst moving towards the car.
“Did I say something wrong, Chris…?” I asked, stopping in between.
He looked at me. “No”
“Then why are you--”
“Stop it. Don’t ask any more questions, please,”
“Chris…” I frowned.
“If I see you frowning, I will leave. I can’t be the reason for your frowning ever,” he kept his hand on my cheek and caressed it.
“Alright. Same for me. Don’t be sad”
“I am not”
“Please”
“Okay,” he smiled faintly.
But behind that faint smile, you were crying. What is wrong, Chris? Why can’t you just share it with me?
