Chapter 25: Chapter 25
Ella couldn't react to what the older man has said. She wanted to scream at them so loud. Ella wanted to run away after the older man introduced himself to her, but she couldn't because Mikael was firmly holding her hand.
His name was Lemuel. He silently glared at Mikael; disgust was written all over his face. Mikael bowed his head and pulled his hand back to his side. Lemuel smiled and dragged Ella away in a room with five other men sitting comfortably in their seats.
"I want to go home, please. Let me go," Ella begged Lemuel. Lemuel's expression changed instantly. His smile vanished and is now replaced by anger.
"You're not going back to that wretched place!" Lemuel yelled. "It was full of monsters!" he added and slammed his hands on the table while glaring fiercely at Ella. She took a step backward, afraid of the man in front of her. Lemuel breathed deeply and sat on the chair.
"Ella will be helping us in our plan against them," Lemuel said. The men around agreed, but it left Ella confused about what's happening. She doesn't know any of Lemuel's plans. She was about to say something, but the door burst open, revealing Mikael panting heavily.
"Master, we have a problem," Mikael said. He slightly glanced at Ella and gulped. Lemuel stood up, and he was followed by the men inside.
"Bring her back to her room," Lemuel ordered. "Don't worry, my granddaughter, those monsters will soon perish," he added with a smile that brought fear to Ella.
A helper and a bulky man escorted Ella back to her room and locked the door again, preventing her from escaping. She harshly wiped her tears after the awful truth was beginning to dawn on her.
She is the granddaughter of a hunter, and Blaze is a wolf and his pack's Alpha. They were fated to be together, but their bloodlines refused them to be. From the start, they were enemies destined to fight each other.
Ella wants to go back because she knew her mother would be worried about death after she went missing. She badly misses everyone back home. She went to the window and looked for away, but she didn't gain anything. The windows were installed with thick grills. Ella went to expect the bathroom, but the results were the same. It was like she was in a prison cell.
Ella walked to the door and tried opening it; she smiled when she saw it wasn't locked. Although she was sure earlier that the bulky man closed the door from the outside. She slowly went out, tip-toeing, when she heard voices speaking in the room. Ella peeked inside and saw the men that were with her earlier, talking. Even her grandfather and Mikael were present.
"They broke one of our monitors installed, sir," a man said. "Those fucking monsters!" Lemuel angrily shouted.
"We need to take action, Lemuel. We need to kill them all," another man said and crossed his arms.
"We are gonna kill them all, we will commence the plan in two days, and we will use Ella as bait," Lemuel muttered. "I know he can't hurt Ella, so this time for sure. I will kill that damn filthy Alpha, myself," he added. He even went and used his granddaughter for his plan, but it's for the good of all. It is the start of a future without beasts. Ella gasped and quickly covered her mouth. She hid behind when she saw Mikael glanced at where she was standing. Ella hurriedly ran back to her room.
"I need to get out of here. I need to warn Blaze," Ella muttered hysterically under her breath. She can't let them use her as they want. Not when they want to kill Blaze.
"Think of how you can get out of here, Ella," she mumbled while pacing back in forth to her room and biting her fingernail. Ella was startled when the door opened, and Mikael.
"If you are thinking of escaping, don't do it, Ella. You will fail," Mikael said while leaning against the wall. Ella glared at him.
"Shut the fuck up, Mikael," she said, annoyed. Mikael let out a sigh. He couldn't foresee what Ella did, and the next thing that happened shocked him. Ella held his hand and begged.
"Michael please, you need to help me. Please, I need to get out of here. Blaze needs me," Ella said dejectedly. If she wants to escape, she needs to convince Mikael to help her. This is her last chance.
"I can't."
"Mikael, you can! Please, Blaze is a good person. He isn't perfect, but I know in my heart he is a good, kindhearted person," Ella said and wept. She couldn't take it if something were to happen to her lover. "Please, I can't lose him, Mikael, I just can't. I love him too much," she added while crying hard and clutching Mikael's hand. She can't risk Blaze's safety. Ella needed him to be safe at all costs. She loved him even before knowing what he is.
"I can't, Ella. I can't help you," Mikael quietly said. Ella knelt while sobbing her heart out.
"You are the worst, Michael! You don't have a heart. You and Blaze are the same kind, but you chose to be with the hunters," Ella spat. She discovered earlier that Mikael is also a werewolf. It baffles her why Mikael chose the hunters instead of living together with the wolves, but Ella couldn't care less. "I hate you, I do," she added. Mikael looked at her with sadness visible in his eyes.
"You don't know anything about me, Ella," Mikael said and clenched his hand. Ella stood up and glared at him.
"I hope you won't experience what I've been through," Ella mumbled. "I hope you wouldn't see her so you can't hurt her," she added.
"I've been through worse, Ella. Much worse than you could ever imagine," Mikael said and sat on the chair.
"It's already too late now. I've been hurting her, and I know I might hurt her again, but I couldn't do anything," Mikael said and covered his face. He feels frustrated. "The neck has chained me, and Lemuel held that. I will be forever bound to him," he added.
"I already accepted my fate as a mere tool," Mikael said, which made Ella surprised. The sadness was visible not only in his eyes but also in his voice. He was suffering. No matter what he does, Lemuel and the organization won't accept him.
"What do you mean?" Ella asked, but he didn't answer. "Mikael, what do you mean!?" Ella shouted.
"It's Gwyneth; she's my mate."
