Chapter 26: Chapter 26
Two days passed since the talk happened between Ella and Mikael. She tried persuading him to help her, but Mikael ignored all her cries. Ella was getting desperate as time goes by. Lemuel was busy organizing the plan to attack Blaze's pack at dawn. She tried escaping a hundred times, but none of it was successful. She wept while hugging her knees on the soft mattress of her bed.
"You still don't want to eat?" Mikael asked as he opened the door. Ella sniffled a sobbed while looking at him. Swollen eyes, pale face, and dark spots were visible under her eyes.
"You still don't want to help me? What about your mate?" Ella asked. "Lemuel will kill her too," she added.
"I can't do anything, Ella," Mikael said. Ella could see how painful this was for him, but she's determined to get away from the place she called prison.
"You can't change my mind in escaping this hellish place," Ella said and pulled a pillow, then she hugged. Mikael grabbed the untouched tray of food and left Ella's room; he slowly felt like he was being torn apart. He doesn't know what to do anymore.
"You should follow the girl," his wolf said.
"If I follow her. I will be betraying the hunters," Mikael said.
"They weren't treating us like a human being in the first place but as a tool. Wake up,
Mikael!" his wolf said. "You are a werewolf," he added. Mikael ruffled his hair and went to his room after he takes the tray back to the kitchen.
Blaze felt like he was going crazy. There's no news about his mate yet. Candice looked at his son, who kept pacing back and forth in the living room. She could see her son aged twice his age because of worrying. The blaze hasn't shaved his grown beard, and his eyes were dead.
"Blaze, they'll be here in a moment. It would be best if you took a seat," her mother added. Suddenly, Candice's phone rang, and when she saw who the caller was, she couldn't help but smile.
"Mom!" her daughter said on the other line.
"Cassandra! How are you? Why didn't you call me! Your Dad and I were so worried about you!" Candice said; she was glad Cassandra called her. She missed her daughter so much.
"Mom! Calm down. I'm okay. I'm doing fine here at the Academia. Don't worry too much, okay? How's Blaze, by the way?" Cassandra asked her. Candice couldn't answer and watched Blaze, who seemed dazed while sitting on the couch. He was clenching his hands into a fist.
"Mom, what happened?" Cassandra asked her again.
"He's devastated, my child. Ella is missing. His mate is missing," Candice said and sniffled.
"What?!" Cassandra said shockingly. "Do you want me to go back and help?" she asked Candice.
"No. Stay there, Cassy," Candice said. She wanted her daughter to stay in Academia to be safe from any harm because hunters were lurking around the North, hunting werewolves down.
"Please, let me talk to my twin, Mom," Cassandra pleaded. Candice was surprised when her son threw the vase in the wall that created a loud sound. She moved the phone away from her ear and talked to him.
"Son! What are you doing?" Candice asked. Blaze looked at her, emotionless. She heaved a sigh and handed him the phone. "Your sister wants to talk to you," she said. The blaze was hesitant at first, but he took the phone in her mother's hand.
"Blaze, you idiot," Cassandra softly said. Blaze did not reply. "Hey! Didn't you miss me?" Cassandra asked him.
"I missed you, stubborn Cassy," Blaze said.
"I heard what happened. You'll find her, Blaze," Cassandra said to him.
"Yeah," was all his reply, and handed the phone back. Candice talked to her daughter for a minute before ending the call. The door burst opened and Caleb rushed inside. He was panting. It looks like he ran to the packhouse.
"Blaze, we found something," he said. Blaze stood up in his seat and walked towards his beta with haste.
"What is it!?" Blaze asked. "Did you already find her?" he added. Caleb bowed his head and heard Blaze mutter a string of curses.
"We found out who took her," Caleb said.
"Who's the bastard!? Blaze angrily asked while huffing.
"It was Mikael. He was a transferred student." Caleb said and put the pictures down. Blaze took it and examined it. He knew Mikael because they once fought because of him. Blaze sensed something wrong with him, but he couldn't believe he would do this.
"He also disappeared when Ella was missing. So, we managed to find out the truth," Caleb said.
"Prepare the team again. We will go back and find Ella," Blaze ordered. "This time, we'll go further the search," he added. Caleb bowed his head politely and left to talk to the team they were bringing with them. Blaze headed to where his room is but his mother stopped him.
"You haven't been sleeping and eating these days properly, son. You need strength to find her, so please, rest a little while you are waiting for Caleb," Candice pleaded with tears in her eyes. Blaze gave her a small smile and nodded his head. Candice let him go and watched him go to the room.
Blaze sat on the bed and stared at the wall in front of him. He wanted to thrash around again, but he's getting tired. He lay on the bed, and images of Ella, while she was having fun, flashed through his mind.
"I miss you, so much," Blaze mumbled and closed his eyes.
