Chapter 23: Chapter 23

"Blaze, stop!" Ella said and jokingly glared at him. She took the pillow on the bed and smacked Blaze's face while laughing so hard. Blaze frowned and sat beside her, hugging her in the process.

"Blaze, you should go," Ella seriously said. Caleb kept going back to Ella's house to call Blaze because they have to go to a pack meeting. Ella was surprised to know that there are neighboring packs around.

"No, I'll stay here with you," Blaze stubbornly said. Ella rolled her eyes.

"Why are you so stubborn? Go now! You need to attend the meeting, Blaze," Ella said to him. Blaze hugged her tightly and heaved out a sigh.

"You don't want to be with me?" Blaze asked quietly. Ella pinched her on the side.

"It's not that I don't want to be with you, Blaze," Ella mumbled. "You're the Alpha, remember? It's your responsibility," she added. Blaze scratched the back of his head. She stared at him; a question has been bugging her mind lately but couldn't ask Blaze because it was nonsense.

She wanted to know if werewolves also have fleas.

"Fine, but Mason will stay here to guard you while I'm away," Blaze said. Ella nodded as she doesn't want to oppose and fight with him. The two went outside together and saw Caleb waiting in his car.

"It's a good thing that you forced him out, Ella," Caleb said while smiling. Ella grinned, and when she looked back, she saw Blaze frowned. He's jealous again.

"Let's go but let's take Ella to school first," Blaze said, but Ella shook her head. "No, it's okay! You can go to where the meeting is," Ella said.

"No, I will take you to school," Blaze argued. Ella sighed and didn't quarrel back. She got inside the car, and Caleb drove her to school. She waved her hands and waited for them to disappear and went inside. Ella felt new when there's no Gwyneth that greeted her. She stopped when she felt someone was following her.

"Mason, I know you're there. Come out," Ella said. Mason came out while smiling sheepishly. "Hello, Luna," Mason greeted Ella.

"No need to guard me, Mason. I'm inside the school; no one would dare and do something to me," Ella said, but Mason shook his head. His Alpha's order is absolute. He needs to protect the future Luna of the pack. Ella heaved a sigh and went to her classroom while Mason was following her.

"When this meeting will end?" Blaze said with annoyance. Caleb chuckled while shaking his head.

"Focus, Blaze," Caleb said. He heard Blaze sigh. It was the same issues and problems all over again. Rogues and hunters but this time, they are getting closer to the Blue Moon pack. Last night, a werewolf was found dead on the border of Collins' pack. It was said that the hunter killed the werewolf. Blaze and his warriors went to Collins' pack to see the dead body and plan an immediate response to what's happening.

"Alpha Blaze," Andrew Collins called, the Alpha of the Collins' pack. "Do you want to see the body now?" he asked. Blaze nodded his head and followed Andrew outside. They went to the pack's morgue and saw the body covered with a white cloth. Blaze slowly approached it and removed the fabric.

"We found three silver bullets in his body. He also has fresh scars maybe after the hunter shot him some rouges attacked him," Alpha Collins said. Blaze returned the cloth to his body and clenched his hand.

"We need to stop this. We can't let this continue, or else we'll suffer more casualties with these damn hunters lurking around," Blaze said, and everyone agreed.

"I already deployed some of my men to patrol and to investigate," Alpha Collins said. Blaze nodded his head.

"That's good. That's what I'll do too," Blaze said, and all of them went out of the morgue. "I'll tell my men to patrol the border," he added. He was about to say something else when Alpha Collins interrupted.

"How was your mate? I heard she's a human," Andrew asked. Blaze smiled. "I miss mate!" his wolf said.

"I know, bud. I miss her too," Blaze replied.

"We fought, but everything went smooth after explaining to her. She already knows about our kind," Blaze muttered.

"That's good to hear then," Andrew said. "So, let's proceed to discuss the plan, shall we?" he added. Blaze nodded his head and once again followed Andrew Collins to where the location of the meeting is.

Ella sighed for the nth time around. She felt bored without Blaze to annoy her. Everything the professor says in front feels like a lullaby to her. It's already her third subject for the day, and Ella just wanted to go home and sleep, but she couldn't. After she has been gone to school for weeks, she needs to catch up to her lessons.

"I miss, Blaze," she mumbled.

When the bell rang, Ella was the first one to stand up and leave the room. She saw Mason talking to someone. Ella turned her back and hurriedly walked away from him. She doesn't want Mason to see her. She wanted to go home and lie on her bed with her matching socks and movies.

When she was already outside the school, Ella decided to buy food in a store and walked home. While Ella was sauntering through the road, she could feel like someone following her, but she didn't mind it. Suddenly, someone grabbed her and dragged her to a dark alleyway, covering her mouth.

"Uhh!" Ella tried to scream, but the man covered her mouth and nose with a handkerchief. She tried resisting so she could get away from the man. Ella gradually weakened. Her vision started to blur, but before losing consciousness, she saw the man's face.

"M-Mikael."
