Chapter 22: Chapter 22
The man took his phone out and accepted the call, "Master," he greeted and looked around. It's a good thing that no one is around.
"How is she?" his master asked.
"It's been a week, but there was no sign of her," he said. He heard glasses breaking in the other line.
"What you have been doing!? Why didn't you find her!?" his master shouted. The man couldn't help but pinched the bridge of his nose.
"She was always with the Alpha and warriors. I couldn't get close to her," he explained while clenching his hand into a fist.
"Then, do something! You filthy mutt!" his master shouted. The man gasped at what his master said. Yes, he is one of the filthy mutts his master refers to. He was still young when his parents died in the rouge attack. He was five back then. His family and friends died, but he was able to live because his mother hid him. The man he calls master found him and killed the rogue wolf. He followed him and became the master's favorite. He became the master's son when his son left him and the organization. He made to become a spy, infiltrating other packs and killing them in the process. He clenched his hand and growled; he shouldn't be angry at his master. The master became his father and raised him as his own.
"I'm sorry, my child, but I need her. I need to take her away from that filthy place," his master said and ended the call.
He sighed and walked towards the library. He sat in the farthest corner of the room when suddenly, an intoxicating smell hit his nose. The scent of strawberries, creamy and sweet; she's here, his mate is here. She smiled and sat in front of him. Who would thought that he would find his fated mate in this horrible place?
"What do you want?" He coldly asked while his beast whimpered. The girl flinched at his tone. "Mate! Don't talk to mate like that!" his wolf begged, but he ignored him.
"I want to talk about us," she softly said. The man scoffed.
"There's no need to talk about 'us' because there's no 'us' Gwyneth," he venomously said. Gwyneth whimpered and silently cried. The man could feel his heart ached at the sight of his fated mate's sad face, but he chose to ignore the pain.
"Mate, my mate!" his beast said. He wanted to go out, to transform, but the man won't let him interfere, not when he's on a critical mission. Gwyneth wiped her tears and forced a smile.
"Then, please let me do this," Gwyneth said and breathed deeply. The man waited for her to speak while clenching his hand. "I, Gwyneth Forrester, reject you--" the man cut her off and suddenly kissed her on the lips. He couldn't help but cup her face and kiss her with urgency. Gwyneth tastes strawberries. It made him dizzy; he wanted to claim her right here and then.
"I won't let you reject me, Gwyneth, goodbye," he said and walked away. His heartbeat was beating erratically. He went out of the library and leaned on the closest tree to relax.
"You! You wanted our mate to reject us!? How dare you!" his beast angrily said while walking back in forth inside of him. The man ignored him once again because he needs to fulfill his role. He needs to bring his master's granddaughter to the organization.
After the talk they had, Ella and Blaze lay on the bed and just stared at the ceiling. The comfortable silence between them made Ella smile. Blaze kept brushing her hair while she was trying to control not to sleep.
"Let's go down, Blaze. I don't want to sleep," Ella mumbled while Blaze chuckled. "I'm going to cook something for you," she added, to which Blaze agreed quickly. The thought of Ella cooking his food made his mouth water. They got up and went down, hand in hand.
"Can I use your kitchen, Tita? I want to cook something for Blaze," Ella politely asked Blaze's mother, seeing her currently sitting on the couch. Blaze's mother smiled and hugged her.
"Of course, Ella! You can use it," Candice excitedly said. "And please, call me Mom," she added. Blaze looked at her mother; he couldn't believe she easily let Ella use her kitchen. Even his father couldn't believe it.
"What?" Blaze asked. "You agreed," Blake said.
"Yes, so what?" Candice said and crossed her arms.
"Mom, you didn't allow people to use your kitchen," Blaze said. Ella looked at Candice and saw her forehead creased, but what surprised her was Candice's laugh.
"Is that so?" Candice said. "Well, Ella is your mate and my future daughter. She's allowed in my kitchen," she added while grinning.
"Babe, I'm also your mate, but you didn't even allow me to use the kitchen," Blake said and sulked.
"Oh shush, you big baby!" Candice said and smacked her husband's shoulder. Blaze knowing his parents quickly dragged Ella away.
"No making out in the kitchen, kids!" Candice shouted. Ella felt her cheeks blush because of what she heard. She looked at Blaze and saw him already looking at her. Ella avoided his gaze and fanned herself.
"So, what are you going to cook?" Blaze asked. Ella glanced around and saw ingredients for spaghetti Bolognese. She smiled and began preparing the foods she was going to make. Blaze sat on the chair and watched his beautiful mate.
"Are you done, love? I'm starving," Blaze said after waiting for about thirty minutes. He walked and back hugged Ella.
"I'm about to finish, love," Ella said and chuckled. She ordered Blaze to prepare the plates. She put the spaghetti bolognese, and Blaze hurriedly ate it. Ella sat in front of him and watched him eat. Blaze looked at her and smile.
"You are a messy eater, sweetie," Ella sweetly said and chuckled. She grabbed the tissue and wiped the sauce smudge in his mouth. Blaze grinned and kissed her cheeks; he went back to eat. After taking only a small portion of food for weeks, he felt the hunger taking over him now.
"Damn, this is the best spaghetti bolognese ever!" Blaze said after finishing his food; he rubbed his stomach as he felt full. Ella chuckled. She was glad that Blaze liked what she cooked.
"I have something to show you, sweetie," Blaze said. They went out of the packhouse's backdoor. Blaze steps back and transformed into his wolf form. Ella gasped; she couldn't get used to seeing Blaze change.
"Hop on," Blaze said through the link. Ella looked at him, dumbfounded. She couldn't believe Blaze was talking to her.
"I'm sorry, I should have explained it to you," Blaze said and bowed his head. "Our link wasn't established, so I can only talk like this. Once you have my mark, I can freely converse you in your mind when I am in wolf form," he added.
"It's okay," Ella said and rubbed her fur.
"I will tell you about it later, sweetie. Hop on my back first," Blaze said, and Ella did what he wanted. She hopped on his back.
"Hold on tight, sweetie," Blaze said. Ella holds onto his neck tightly then Blaze began to run. She screamed suddenly, but it vanished. The wind that brushes on her skin feels good. She closed her eyes and felt it.
"We're here," Blaze stated. Ella opened her eyes and saw a treehouse. She carefully got down in Blaze's back and stared with awe.
"Wow," Ella mumbled under her breath. Blaze stood beside her, fully clothed. "Who builds this, sweetie?" Ella asked.
"Me, my sister, and Caleb. We used to hang out here when we were kids," Blaze said. He took the ladder and let Ella climb up first. When she was finally inside, she saw pillows, clothes, and other things neatly arrange on the side.
"Sometimes, I went here alone to relax," Blaze stated. Ella glanced and saw a frame with a picture of three children on it.
"So—"Ella couldn't finish her sentence when Blaze suddenly kissed her.
"I missed you, Ella. So fucking much," he whispered in her ear. Blaze looked at her and kissed her intensely and passionately. Ella also misses Blaze a lot; she couldn't eat or sleep properly because of him. Ella kissed him back and leaned closer to him. She wrapped her hands around his neck. Blaze hoisted her up, and she immediately wrapped her legs around his waist. Ella heard him growled as he pressed himself in her and started to grind slowly. He started kissing her neck and sucking it. Ella couldn't help but moan at the burning sensation she's feeling. She opened her eyes and saw him staring at her.
"I love you, Ella."
"I love you more, Blaze."
