Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Ella woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. She slowly opened her and glanced outside. The sun has already risen in the sky with its blinding lights that showered the town of Blue Moon.

Ella sat up and smiled. Today is Saturday, and it means she has no classes and no quizzes to think of. Ella brushed her teeth and went down. When she entered the kitchen, she was surprised to see Blaze.

"Hi," Blaze said and smiled. Ella rubbed her eyes and looked at the figure in front of her to see if she still sees things, but she's not. Blaze is really in her house, sitting comfortably in a chair while sipping his coffee.

"Ella, what are you doing? Get change!" Elisa yelled. Ella's eyes widened and realized she was still in her nightgown. She also has messy hair. Ella covered her face and ran away, back to her room to get change while hearing Blaze laugh in the kitchen.

After she washed and changed into a new set of clean clothes, she went down. Ella saw Blaze on the couch watching a show on the television.

"Where's my Mom?" Ella asked and sat beside him. Blaze stared at her and smiled widely. Ella could feel her cheeks reddened when she remembered what happened earlier. She grabbed the pillow on the couch and hit Blaze hardly.

"Ouch! What did I do this time, sweetie?" Blaze asked while rubbing the part where Ella hit him.

"Why are you here early in the morning?" Ella asked, a little irritation laced in her voice. Blaze put her arms on her shoulders and pulled her close.

"You didn't miss me, sweetie?" Blaze asked. Ella frowned and removed Blaze's arms around her.

"We were together yesterday, Blaze," Ella said nonchalantly. "Where's my Mom?" she added. Ella saw Blaze pouted his lips.

"And here I am missing you," Blaze said and sighed. He changed the television channel. "She went out saying she needs to go back to the clinic. She also said to me that I should keep an eye on you," he added. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at Blaze. Ella couldn't understand her mother right now, the way she was treating her like a child when she isn't one.

They were silent while watching the show when Ella's stomach grumbled. She had forgotten to eat her breakfast because of Blaze. Blaze, on the other hand, chuckled beside her. He stood up and went to the kitchen. Ella decided to follow her and sat on an empty chair, facing the table.

"What are you going to do?" Ella asked, putting her hands on her chin.

"Cooking. I'm going to cook something for you," Blaze sweetly said. What he has said brought a blush to her cheeks. Ella watched Blaze while he was cooking. She was mesmerized at how broad Blaze's back and his shoulders were. Ella could tell how gorgeous Blaze was just by staring at his back.

"Here's your food, sweetie," Blaze said while smiling. He was holding a plate with bacon, egg, and bread on it. Ella could feel her mouth water at the sight of the food. She quickly grabbed a spoon and a fork and began eating.

"What do you want? Coffee, juice, or soda?" Blaze asked. Ella gulped the food in her mouth and smiled at him.

"Juice, please. Thank you for making this food for me, Blaze," Ella sincerely said. Blaze chuckled and put the glass filled with juice in front of her. Ella suddenly stood up and went to kiss Blaze in the cheeks. The shock was written all over his face. Ella went back to eating while blushing like a tomato.

"You eat messily, sweetie." Blaze said while laughing and walked towards her. Ella stiffened when she how Blaze looked at her. She was lost in his eyes. Blaze cupped her face with his large hands and glanced at her lips. Ella automatically closed her eyes. Blaze lowered his lips to her and kissed her slowly, more passionately. He lifted her and sat her on his lap. Ella quickly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled Blaze close to him to deepen the kiss.

Blaze but her lips caused her to open her mouth, and then he explored it with his tongue. Ella couldn't help but moan. A successive knock on the front door snapped Ella back to her being. She quickly stood up.

"I'll open the door!" the two said and the same time. Ella avoided his gaze; her face was red.

"No, I insist. I'll open the door. Just stay here!" Ella said and hurriedly went out. Her heart was beating faster like it was about to burst from her chest. She slumped on the floor; her knees weakly gave out. Ella touched her lips; she couldn't believe she kissed Blaze. A knock erupted once again.

"Wait!" Ella yelled. She stood up and breathed. Ella went to the front door to open it, and she was shocked to see the person standing in front of her right now. It was her ex-boyfriend, Ashton.

"Babe," Ashton called.

"What the hell are you doing here, Ashton!?" Ella angrily shouted. Ashton looked tired. His hair was disheveled and dark circles were clear beneath his eyes. He tried reaching Ella, but she took a step backward.

"Babe, please. Come back to me. I can't live without you," Ashton begged.

"Ashton, please leave. I don't want to see your face again," Ella said. She couldn't believe what Ashton was saying. After all this time, he decided to come to see her again. Ella doesn't love him now, but she couldn't forget what Ashton did to her.

"Do you have someone else!?" Ashton yelled. Ella was about to answer her, but Ashton suddenly fell on the ground, touching his jaw. Baze was already beside Ella, glaring at Ashton. Ashton got back on his feet and spat the blood on his mouth. Blaze growled at him.

"Who the fuck are you!? Don't meddle in our business!" Ashton yelled and pushed Blaze. Blaze pushed him back and threw a punch once again. Ella couldn't take it anymore and pulled Blaze's arm.

"Blaze, stop it! Ashton will leave now. Go back inside," Ella seriously. Blaze glared at her and angrily stormed off back inside the house. Ella glared at Ashton and dragged him away from the house.

"Please leave, Ashton. Don't come back here again," Ella calmly said as possible. She pointed to Ashton's car. Ashton sadly smiles.

"Is there no chance for us to be together again, Ella?" Ashton quietly asked. She shook her head in response. Ella doesn't know if it's possible to quickly forget the man she used to love for a long time, but she did. She has already moved on.

"So I guess this is the end," Ashton said. "I'm sorry, Ella. It's not my intention to hurt you. I loved you, I do, but I fell for Jasmine. I'm sorry for being a jerk. I hope you forgive me for causing you so much pain," he added, tears streaming down his face.

"Goodbye, Ella," Ashton said and walked back to where his car was parked. Ella waited for Ashton to go. She heaved a sigh and went back inside the house. She quickly saw Blaze sitting on the couch while his hands were clenched into a fist.

"Do you still love him? Did you two get back together?" Blaze asked one after another. Ella was quiet for a moment. She doesn't love him anymore, and she knew Blaze was one of the factors that help her move on. Blaze bitterly laughed.

"Fuck this! It's painful to know that the girl you treasure still loves her jerk of an ex," Blaze angrily said. "I thought I already erased him from your heart and mind, but I was wrong," he added and went out of the house. Ella sat on the couch; she could feel her heart sink. She hates herself for not answering Blaze's question.

"I need to make this right."
