Chapter 85: Chapter 85
Chapter 85
Madian continued to run, feeling pursued by an unseen force, until she left the unfamiliar mansion. Only then did she dare to pause for a moment to catch her breath. The presence of Rollo had drawn all the guests' attention, leaving no one to notice the frantic girl.
"I thought I was going to die... Is that really Mr. Enzo? He almost killed me..." Madian clutched her head, still haunted by those horrifying scenes. She hurriedly drove back home without informing her father. She feared that if she didn't leave quickly, Enzo might come after her.
In the guest room, only Flora and Enzo remained. Enzo had been patient, expecting his wife to comply with his wishes, making him shiver with excitement. However, he tried to maintain a calm facade.
Gazing at the woman he loved lying beneath him, he knew she was not a willing participant. Yet, this was the only way Flora would allow him to touch her. Enzo removed his shirt, revealing his muscular physique, with every contour on his body appearing as if meticulously sculpted by divine hands. Although Flora was not inclined to engage with him intimately, she couldn't deny that Enzo was a man blessed with both beauty and wealth, with perfection encapsulated within.
Enzo noticed Flora's intense scrutiny of his body but refrained from showing his excitement. He took Flora's hand and placed it on his chest, feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat.
"Do you like it? You've been staring for quite a while, so you must like this body, don't you? My body belongs to you... this heart belongs to you. If you desire, I can even take it out for you to see," Enzo confessed tenderly, aiming to demonstrate his devotion to Flora. Nevertheless, he understood that her trust in him had long vanished.
Flora, instead of being moved by his confession, felt fear. She wished to retract her hand, but Enzo's grip was too strong, preventing her from evading his touch.
"That's enough. I don't want to hear this. Do whatever you want, and do it quickly," Flora breathed heavily. She was unaccustomed to such prolonged and gentle foreplay, which made her feel apprehensive and worried.
Enzo chuckled softly, "My love, these are necessary steps before making love. I want both of us to experience pleasure and comfort. Please, don't push me away." His voice was deep, husky, and carried an urgent and humble tone as he sought her consent.
Flora couldn't help but find it ironic. She sneered, "You know about these things? Who taught you? Or did you learn them from somewhere? I wish you had learned them sooner."
Enzo's hand, which was about to touch Flora's face, halted. He knew she resented and despised him. He couldn't forgive himself for his past actions, and he couldn't turn back time to correct the mistakes that had caused Flora pain.
Enzo didn't want to witness the look of disdain on her face, so he switched off the bedside lamp. The room plunged into darkness, with only the faint moonlight streaming in from the balcony, providing barely enough light to see each other.
Downstairs in the grand hall, all the guests continued to surround Rollo and Min, striving to win the hearts of the two young children. Min was accustomed to such attention, but Rollo, experiencing this level of focus for the first time, was thrilled.
It was only when the event was about to conclude that Rollo finally noticed his parents' absence. He asked Min, "Where are Mom and Dad?"
Min simply shook her head, unsure. As they were about to go search for their parents, Taylor intervened.
"Isn't this the perfect time to unwrap the gifts? If you wait until tomorrow, the surprises won't be as enjoyable," Taylor's words successfully diverted Min and Rollo from their quest to find their parents.
As Min and Rollo were led to the gift area by a servant, Taylor instructed another servant nearby, "Mr. Enzo and Mrs. Flora are occupied, so ensure no one disturbs them."
The servant obediently started to arrange and tidy up everything. By morning, Flora woke up feeling exhausted, her entire body aching, and she struggled to sit up. What struck her as unusual upon waking was that this was her familiar bedroom, this was not the room from before.
"Why am I here?" She only remembered the exhausting lovemaking that had left her completely drained and unaware that she had returned here.
As she pondered, Enzo entered the room, dressed in his sleepwear, carrying a tray of steaming food. "You're awake, are you? How are you feeling? Any sore spots?"
Flora didn't pay much attention to his question. She just wanted to know why she was here, but before she could ask, Enzo spoke, "Your health seems a bit fragile. We only had a round of intimacy, and you passed out, which deeply saddened me. The villa where Rollo's birthday party was held is also my first gift to the little one. And since it now belongs to Rollo, we should return to our own home."
Flora wanted to say something, but as she opened her mouth, her throat felt dry and sore. Enzo seemed to understand what was going through her mind, and he approached her, pouring her a glass of water. "So, before dawn, I brought you here."
"I want to see Rollo and Min. Both of them are too young to manage a villa like that. It doesn't sit well with me at all," Flora said, not feeling pleased that her children had such substantial assets. It was entirely inappropriate.
Enzo raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "You're right, but the issue isn't because they're too young; it's because they're my children. Those things aren't as significant as you think. From now on, Rollo and Min will live separately. They'll have to become independent and start learning essential things."
"What? Enzo, are you out of your mind? Rollo is only seven, and Min is fourteen. They're just children; how can you be so heartless as to have them live independently?" Flora exclaimed angrily. Enzo always made all the decisions without consulting her. But what he said next silenced Flora. "So, do you want them to see the terrible relationship between their parents? Until our relationship improves, I will allow Min and Rollo to return home. During their time living independently, I'll do my best to improve our relationship. You don't want to see our children hurt, right?"
Flora listened silently. No matter what, she couldn't keep up with Enzo's thoughts. She also couldn't prevent what he was doing with their children, even though she knew everything he did was to keep her here and prevent her from leaving him.
"The thoughts of the wealthy are indeed strange," Flora muttered softly, trying to get out of bed and head to the bathroom.
Enzo sat on the bed, burying his face in the pillow that Flora had just vacated, trying to inhale her lingering scent on the sheets. Last night had been like a beautiful dream for him, one he had longed for over the years.
Enzo chuckled softly, well aware that their relationship was beyond repair. Flora no longer had any feelings for him, no love left, and her heart no longer beat for him.
"Don't blame me, Flora. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you by my side, even if it means using our children," Enzo muttered softly. Though his methods were despicable, they were more effective than ever. Flora could be angry and resentful, but he knew she wouldn't abandon Min and Rollo.
Enzo knew exactly what his wife needed, what she wanted, what she longed for because he understood the childhood traumas and pain that had plagued Flora. He always targeted her weaknesses to keep her easily within his grasp, destroying everyone around Flora and preventing her from seeking help from anyone.
Because Min and Rollo were not here, the atmosphere between her and Enzo became gloomy. Primarily because Flora did not want to talk to him, she focused on her breakfast, ignoring whatever Enzo was saying. Enzo noticed that his wife wasn't interested in him, but he didn't get angry and instead said, "Do you know... your ex-lover is getting married soon?"
Hearing this, Flora raised an eyebrow. The term 'ex-lover' in Enzo's statement referred to Ron, and their relationship was not the typical romantic one, but she didn't want to explain it to Enzo.
"What do you mean?" Flora asked with a raised eyebrow.
She ignored what he just said, not wanting to hear it, but when it came to Ron and the fact that he was about to get married, Flora reacted, making Enzo uncomfortable. Still, he didn't show it because he had an interesting plan in mind.
"Why? Are you sad because the person you love is getting married?" Enzo sneered. "His family has invited me, and I'm considering whether to attend. Anyway, events like that aren't worth my time."
Enzo's words were filled with disdain for Ron and his family. "Enzo, let's have an honest conversation. Do you think that just because you're wealthy, you can look down on others?" Perhaps in the past, she had been treated with disrespect and condescension by this man, which made her very sensitive to his derogatory words about others.
But Enzo believed that Flora's anger was due to her love for Ron. "Are you really getting angry at me because of that wretch? Do you love him so much that you're angry with your own husband? Now I don't even know who your husband is. Is it me, or is it him?"
Flora didn't want to explain too much to someone as irrational as Enzo. What should have been a peaceful breakfast turned into an argument.
"I've said it before, Ron and I don't have the kind of relationship you think," she explained, not to avoid misunderstandings, but to prevent Enzo from causing trouble for Ron and his family. Ron and his family had already been hurt too much because of her, and she didn't want to bring more trouble to them.
"Not the kind I think? Do you think I'm stupid? You've always opposed and left me for that wretch. If it weren't for him, you wouldn't have left Min and me." Enzo questioned loudly, he could not accept his wife always thinking of other men besides him. If it weren't for Flora's sake, he would have already punished the one who had seduced his wife.
