Chapter 30: Chapter 30

...........TESSY..........

I was astound to see the rude guy I had bumped into the day I was leaving the hospital with Andrew.

Well, right now. He wasn't with his bodyguards. It's just him in a lab coat.

God! I loved the way he looked though..

"Kyrian" Steve called and I realized they knew each other.

"Steve...it's been ages!" The guy shrugged and they shook hands.

"Yeah, it has. How's your career going? I'm kinda surprised you later sorted things out with your parents. I can't believe they'd let you work in a hospital like this" Steve stated and he scoffed.

"They didn't. I'm here to conduct three surgeries and I'll head back to England" He replied and just then, his eyes darted towards me.

"Hey...lady. You aren't in a haste today?" He asked wearing a smirk.

I rolled my eyes spitefully.

"You've met before?...Anyways, meet my wife - Tessy. Babe, meet Kyrian. A family friend" Steve chimed and I just glared at the jerk.

"Whoa! Wife??? She's quite feisty. Hold on...isn't she Tessy? The one your friends bullied a lot?" He asked looking perplexed.

"That's in the past now" Steve interpolated still holding me like I would run away...

"Alright. Nice to meet you, Tessy. I'm sorry about the other day. I was in a bad mood" Kyrian apologized and it made me feel better.

"It's okay. Nice to meet you too" I mumbled.

"Well, till another time. Good luck bro" Steve concluded and Kyrian nodded.

"Sure, bro".

He started walking away while staring at his wrist watch.

"Why were you holding me so close?" I chuckled and he sighed...

"Kyrian is a playboy. He does a lot of magic tricks on women and they open up for him so I don't want you to fall victim" He replied as we left the hospital.

"Oh please! He can't do anything to me. Besides, you've got the best qualities a woman could ever ask for" I complimented and he placed a short kiss on my lips.

"We better hurry up before Andrew gets cranky. I need to breastfeed him before he sleeps off for the day" I muttered checking my phone.

"Sure thing. But you can't let him have everything..." Steve remarked grumpily.

"I won't, babe" I replied giggling.

"I admire doctors. They just do what matters all the time. Doing a work that makes them feel important" I reminisced recalling what I had gone through while giving birth to Andrew.

"Yeah, I guess but their jobs are just as good as other works out there" Steve figured softly.

"No...I think lifesaving is a very important work than some people who just sit at the office doing paperwork" I argued folding my arms.

"Oh really??...so, you're against my work, now?? You should have went ahead to marry a doctor" He sneered and I guessed he was getting angry.

"I'm not against your work, Steve. I didn't mean it that way..." I whispered, perturbed.

"It's alright" He said dismissing the subject.

After a while, he brought up another topic;

"Rachel is really hardworking. More than I expected. We are almost done with the work piles - thanks to her".

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Good for her" I remarked looking out the window.

Rain drops were starting to descend on the glasses and side mirror.

It's gonna be a cold night!

"It's good to be well educated with outstanding grades. You should see her CV - curriculum vitae. One of the best in the world. I love women like that..." He commended making me feel uncomfortable.

My heart sank.

It's hurt to hear your husband compliment another woman in your presence.

I just wish I had the opportunity to finish school. To complete everything and be independent.

"You love women like that?" I asked feeling a hole in my heart.
