Cassandra's POV

"We've arrived." Nicholas' voice interrupted me, pulling me out of my vortex of memories. I looked around to find that his car was in front of a house.

"It's my house," he told me to get out of the car

"No one lives here but me, don't worry, you'll be safe." He said to me as he walked forward to open the door for me to follow

"Are you hungry? I'll get something," he said

“No need, thank you.” I told him to sit on the sofa

“At least tell me, how did you end up in a flock like the Red Moon’s flock?” he said to me

“My buddy is over there,” I told him, so they seemed surprised by this news

"Shouldn't this be good?" . told me

"Where's the good thing about it, come on?? It's not like a council and guards behind me just want the moment they catch me to kill me," I told him sarcastically.

“But does your friend know?”

“He must have known while I was running away from his herd.” I told him

"I hope he's not in a high position," he told me to look at him

" Why ??" I asked him

"Because they are the most obsessed with their beta gamma mate, they are very attached to their mate and of course let's not mention the alpha because the worst of them all is possessive to hell about his mate and just the idea of his mate leaving him might drive him crazy and destroy everything to find her" he told me

“Then I feel sorry for your future mate for being the alpha.” I told him, putting a side smile

"My girlfriend won't run away from me," he said to me

“You trusted yourself.” I told him to lie on the couch and push him off the top with my leg so that he fell off of her.

“You and your rudeness,” he said, rising from the ground

"I still need to practice more Nicholas because I'm sure I can beat you in seconds" I told him to look at me

“You beat a number of guards, you are more experienced than me, I can’t beat you,” he told me

“But you are an alpha, you must be stronger than the others.”

“I know, but I only held the position a year ago,” he told me

"Do you know what? I changed my mind I'm hungry" I told him to smile and go towards the kitchen I think

I lay on the sofa thinking what was the reaction of my companion when the council told him the truth about me???

What was his reaction when he found my message and my disappearance??

Does he hate me now??? Will he look for me???

I don't know how long I've been there while I'm thinking

“From the floor to Cassandra.” I heard Nicholas’ voice to see him holding two plates in his hand. I sat down to sit next to me and gave me one of the plates so we could start eating.

"But you didn't tell me how your friend is?" He told me we were eating

"He... I really don't know, so I didn't stay two days with him, but he seems like a good person and loves his flock." I told him

"He loves his flock?"

"Yes, it's an alpha." I told him, and he started coughing hard

"What??? Alpha Wilson your buddy? That's crazy Cassandra" he shouted at me to look at him

" What do you mean ??"

"I mean you ran away from him crazy" he told me

"I ran away and it's over"

"It's not over, and it won't end until Cassandra catches you, and let me tell you that you will never run from him this time, no matter how good you are at running away."

"He must be sure now that I was a dangerous Roger, since the council told him of my crime, so I don't think he would come after me."

"You are wrong in judging his position and the strength of his herd. He does not care much about the council, meaning that even if they tell him that you have committed more crimes, he will not believe them because you are his companion." He told me

"Why are you talking like you've known him for centuries?" I Saied to him

"I'm only speaking from an alpha's point of view toward his mate, especially alpha wilson. I saw him once in a council meeting, he was strong, and Cassandra warned you this time it's different."

"Why are you talking so much today???"

"I'm just warning a friend."

"Tomorrow I'm leaving here, and you won't have a girlfriend."

"stay longer"

"It can't be, staying in one place for longer means danger and threat" I told him, giving him a sigh

After we finished, he pointed to one of the rooms in which I was going to sleep and I went to her

“Thank you, Nicholas,” I told him

"No need to thank, but I won't leave you until you promise me two things."

" what are they ?"

"First, promise me you'll call me as soon as you find a new place just to let me know you're okay since I left you here," he said, looking at the empty road within his herd.

“The second is that you will call me whenever you need me.” He said to me, smiling softly

"I get it, I'm going now. I hope we don't meet again, because that means I'm in trouble." I told him to laugh together and waved to him to start walking away from him.

Nicholas I rescued him two years ago during my escape he was being attacked by a number of other herd members I thought they had enmity with some of them I rescued him and he was the son of an alpha little flock and he only took office a year ago and so we got to know He wasn't bad as a friend but I was just ignoring formation Friendship even though he knew my truth

It's okay Cassandra, it's a day like the other days of my escape

I started walking for a while I missed my car at least I could move around it more quickly but the stupid keys stayed with my buddy so I gave up my car

After hours of walking, I began to approach the human city. I entered for it to start searching. As usual, I need a hotel because I am tired of walking for long hours without rest.

This bag has been accompanying me all these years. I only carry my clothes with it, two suits so that there is no weight while running. When I see that it is no longer usable, I throw it away and buy others with it also a phone to use with a silver knife to defend myself and I have some other things that I carry in My car but it stayed there in addition to the money I had a secret account with humans not in my name, but I put it in a secret name so that I can take out the money whenever I want without being tracked by the council guards.

My eyes wandered around the edges of the rooms to fall on a map that I grabbed to open. Most of this type of hotels put maps of their city and the things next to them.

I opened it to start studying the map well Suddenly I remembered I have to call Nicholas I grabbed a phone and opened it and put the numbers I waited for several rings before the line opened

"Nicholas, I'm fine and I'm in a safe area," I said over the phone

"Really?? I don't think there's a safe area for you outside anymore, my dear friend." My companion's voice spoke, feeling my heart would stop at any moment. Why does he have Nicholas's phone?
