Chapter 82: Chapter 82
“I’m sorry.’ glancing up at the person I knew who the person was.
I was dumbfounded.
In my whole life, never did I expect I was going to meet him again.
“Gerard.’ I whispered and his eyes widened, staring deeply at me.
“Is that really you?’
He questioned. “Who are you?!’
I grabbed his collar with rage, filling up and rushing through my veins. “Who am I? After all these years, you finally show up here? Tell me, why the fuck are you here?’ my eyes instantly filled with tears so much I was broken.
The sound of my voice, my gritted teeth could be heard, tears flowed down my cheeks.
All these years of enduring sufferings and going through hell broke me.
But he didn’t look bothered at all by my tears and stood still as if nothing was touching him.
Why was he so calm?
Gerard was alive? How come no one told me about him?
No, it can’t be.
I saw his dead body before they buried him.
What the heck was going on? I'm getting tired of all these bullshit.
I was fucking tired of seeing all this.
This was stressing me out. When will this ever end?
Jessie’s Pov.
I came out of my car, holding my car keys, and shut the door behind me.
I needed to go pick up my daughter from school and maybe Nolana as well, if she was still around the school.
I got inside the classroom, and Chloe ran into my arms.
“Mom, you came to pick me up.’
I laughed and kissed her forehead. “Of course, my daughter. If I don’t pick you up, who will?’
“Either Dad or Mom.’
“Mom?!’
Who is she talking about?
“She’s talking about my mom.’ Nolana came to me with a bright smile. “You look beautiful, Aunt Jessie.’
“Thank you Oceana…sorry I mean Nolana. Forgive me, you have a striking resemblance to your mother. I usually complicate your names. I’m sorry.’ I gave a sad smile.
“Na,’ Chloe shook her head in disagreement.
“What is it?’ I was curious as she kept looking at Nolana.
“Mom, she doesn’t look like Aunt Oceana or her dad either. But she looks a little like her mom, which means she must have carried this beauty from her ancestors because she doesn’t look like her dad at all.’
My heart skipped for a second there. These kids wouldn’t kill me. I thought they found out the truth. Maybe, I’m just overthinking and stressed out.
“Really?’ Nolana touched her face with a sigh. “You can’t be serious, Chloe.’
“Of course I am serious.’
“No, you are not.’
“I am. You look like the daughter of a powerful alpha.’
“But my dad is a powerful alpha. I must definitely look like him.’
“Okay! Okay, kids. Can we go now? Let me sign up in the register book. I picked both of you and saw your teachers as well, okay?’
They both nodded.
I went to their classroom and introduced myself.
Informed them about me taking Nolana and they both agreed since they all knew me as Oceana’s best friend.
I got to my car and opened the door for the both of them to go in.
I also went in, shut the car door and began driving at a great speed.
“Mom, can we get some ice cream along the way? I want chocolate ice cream this time,’ Chloe announced with excitement while jumping around the car seat.
“Chloe sat down. You don’t want to fall down, don’t you?!’
She reminds me of when I was her age.
Quite cute.
“Mom, I won’t fall, okay, I’m not a kid.’
“Yes, you are my child. I’m driving and I don’t want to put you and Nolana in danger.’
“I want a strawberry ice cream too, Aunt Jessie.’
“Okay, you both will get some ice cream. Let’s go to the shop to get some.’ I smiled.
“Mom, I wanna go to that restaurant. Ever Garden.’
“Huh! She’s my mom, not yours, Nolana.’
“Hey! You call my mom, your mom too, not a big deal,’ Nolana uttered with a wink and a bright smile.
“Well, it’s confusing and I don’t want you to steal my mom.’
Nolana began laughing.
“Aunt Jessie, Chloe thinks I’m gonna steal you away from her.”
I laughed.
“Chloe, don’t think such things, okay?’
“No mom, I’m serious. Everyone loves Nolana. All the children’s moms took a liking to Nolana and always brought her gifts. Including me too.’ her flushed cheeks brightened.
“She’s blushing because it’s a boy who gave her those red roses a week ago,’ Nolana revealed with a smirk.
“What!’ I was stunned, and a smile appeared on my lips.
These kids.
“Hey, Nolana, don’t expose my secrets like that.”
I laughed out loud.
We all had fun.
I stopped at the luxurious restaurant called Ever Garden since Nolana and my daughter love their ice cream.
We all entered as the two kids ran to their table to take their order.
I sat down opposite the fancy table as both of them looked at their menu on what type of ice cream they would love to eat.
I admire these children and wish I was still a kid.
You know, as a kid; you don’t have responsibilities or rather do you think about anything?
You just wake up in the morning, take a bath, eat, have snacks, play all day and go back to sleep.
No thinking about the future or how you are going to live.
It is nothing but a fantasy, though, but I wish I had the luxury of being a child again.
“Uncle Adolph.’ Both kids yelled as they both ran to hug him.
“You guys are growing up so fast. When was the last time I saw the both of you? Weren’t you just tiny little wolves?”
“Well, we grow up faster than you think.’ Chloe giggled.
“That’s because you don’t see us all the time, Uncle Adolph. That’s why you think we’ve grown,’ Nolana added.
Adolph laughed and sat down beside them while laughing.
“What’s up Jessie?’ he greeted me.
“I’m good and you?’
I smiled as the server came to deliver the ice cream they wanted.
And soon Nolana and Chloe shifted their attention to their iPads, leaving us, the adults, to have our boring discussion.
“What are you doing here?’
“I could ask you the same.’ I said.
“Well, it is a coincidence. I came here with Lucy.’
“Oh.’ I nodded.
He also nodded and looked at Nolana.
“How is she doing?’ he asked.
I knew who he was referring to.
