Chapter 81: Chapter 81
I took the envelope and opened it, and what I saw moved me to tears.
I couldn’t stop looking at my young alpha.
His hair was white, he had bright blue eyes, his lips were so cute, and his bright smile with his cute teeth was stunning.
He seemed happy to be sitting down in the middle of this strange couple in the pictures.
He wore a white T-shirt, sharp blue shorts designed with a bit of rainbow colours.
I smiled and opened the camera, to see and watch the video of how he really looked in real life and there he was, standing with a bright smile and began laughing.
Damn, his laugh was the cutest I have ever seen.
Gerard and this young Alpha, my son, were the same carbon copy.
His eyes and laughter were the same and his eyes were so adorable as he stood in the video.
“How do you feel about leaving the orphanage, Nolan?’
I could hear a lady’s voice in the background asking this question and she seemed lovely, too.
I could sense that even though I don’t know her or neither have I seen her before.
Nolan. So Nolan was his name.
I’m such a terrible mother. I didn’t even know my son’s name.
He grinned. “I feel good leaving the orphanage, but I’m gonna miss my friends, Jack, everyone.’ my eyes welled up. The more I heard his voice, the more I wanted to break down in tears, yet I kept weeping.
His voice was the softest voice I have ever heard in my entire life.
“Are you excited to meet your new parents?’ the mysterious lady asked again.
“Yes, I’m excited,” he nodded. “They love me, buy me marvellous stuff I’ve never gotten in my life and that’s all I need.’
“Do you wish you could meet your biological parents someday? Maybe they will come back and decide to take you back? What are you going to do about that? I would like to listen to your opinion on that.’
His smile faded from his face and looked directly at the camera with a blank expression. My heart skipped.
“If I were to meet my biological parents again, I want to know why they abandoned me and left me here. But I don’t want to see them again and I…”
My mother snatched the camera from my hand and switched it off.
I got up and confronted her immediately in annoyance. “Why did you take it away from me? I wanted to hear what he had to say.”
“Your time is up.’ she pushed it inside her handbag, and walked away from me and stopped, facing me.
‘I’m going back to the Mackenzie CLAN to make sure Garold knows Nolana is not the only child I have.’ I threatened.
She slammed the glass door at my face, grimacing.
I opened the door and grabbed her shoulders.
“You can’t keep ruining my life like this. I have had enough.’
She faced and landed a huge slap across my face.
“Everything that’s ever happened for these past five years, you have yourself to blame.’
“Are you serious right now, mother?’ I scoffed and glared. “You ruined my life and took my son away from me, and you want me to relax and do nothing? How despicable.’
“Get into your senses and think of how to protect Nolana because she will be my next target. You cause your problems. If you hadn’t gotten pregnant with Gerard, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Be grateful I didn’t take Nolana away from you.’
She walked out on me.
I broke down and burst down in tears, took my phone and came across Carmine’s phone number in my dial log.
I needed his help so badly. I want him to save my son.
I’ve not heard from him for a couple of days. The anger I felt for him overwhelmed me when he chose his mate over me.
Before I knew it, I mistakenly dialled his number, and I wanted to stop it, but I kept staring at the caller ID dialling in front of me.
At my age, I’m still asking for his help? How pathetic of me!
He picked.
My hands were shaking as I took the phone to my ear, it was silent for a while and then I began hearing a muffling sound in the background.
“Hi,’ I uttered softly, hoping he would recognize me instantly.
“Hi, Good afternoon.” The person on the phone answered. However, why was his voice so soft and cute?
I took off the phone and looked at my phone once again, wondering if I called the wrong number.
I put the phone back in my ear and gave a long sigh. “Good afternoon. Am I speaking with Carmine?’
There was silence for a while, and then from the background, I heard whispers. “Fuck, keep your voice down.”
It’s this person aware I could hear exactly what he was saying?
All thanks to my wolf hearing?
“Hello.’ I said.
“Hi, my name is Star, and I’m sorry for ignoring you like that. I was just talking to my little brother here.’
“No problem, I’m alright.’ I smiled. His voice seemed warm.
“Umm…You said you wanted to speak to Carmine, right?’
“Yeah,’ I responded.
“Oh, I’m sorry, he’s not around at the moment. He went out for some jogging and would be back in ten minutes. Would you mind if you call back or what name should I tell him once he comes back so he can call back?”
He was so polite. Who was he?
“No, I will call back later.’ I ended the call immediately. Why was I being such a stupid Alpha because I was terrified of asking for his help?
Damn. Some couples can not adopt my son, and I won’t let it happen..
Gerard went through the same thing, and it didn’t go well with him. I don’t want someone else taking care of my child.
No, I can’t let this happen to him with or without my mother’s help.
I must find my son.
I went home and saw Garold going through some certain documents.
I walked slightly up to him and greeted him and, as usual, he didn’t reply to me. So, I turned back, walking to my room.
“Where are you coming from?” he asked coldly.
I stopped in my tracks. “I went to see my mother.’ I replied.
“The way you are meeting your mother these days is quite suspicious. Be careful, Oceana.’
“Yes, Alpha.’
He stood up and strolled shirtless to his study.
One morning, I got up as early as possible so I could morph into my wolf form, exercise my mental health, lose some weight and keep fit.
I bumped into someone, feeling lightheaded.
