Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Winter's POV

"Are you sure you're going to do this?"

"Ian, what do you want me to do? Stay here? That is where I live and that mansion was given by grandpa."

Ian stayed standing beside me while I was grooming myself in front of his mirror. He decided to bring me to his house after I got really drunk. I just saw Matthew and Belle kissing last night. He didn't even tell me he already has someone he loves.

"How about that jerk? He fooled you, and yet you still want to see him?"

"I want to see Elisse and I live in that mansion. That's the only reason why I need to go back home."

"You know what? Better yet kick that fool out of your house or if you can't, then bring Elisse with you and just stay here."

I heaved a sigh and faced him. "Ian, I know you're just worried about me. But I'm not the kind of woman who will be miserable after finding out that the man that I love loves someone else. I'm the most beautiful woman in this country, it isn't my loss."

"Fine, you can do whatever you want. But I will make sure that asshole won't be able to lay a hand on you anymore."

We just decided to have breakfast together first, then we proceeded to the mansion. I actually don't want to see Matthew yet, but I have no choice. Ian and I got surprised when we arrived because we saw Belle laughing with Matthew and Elisse as they stepped out of the mansion as if they were about to go to school already.

"Wow. What a happy family, huh?" I sarcastically said while looking at them.

"Miss Winter!"

Elisse came rushing over to me as soon as she saw me and Ian. I stooped down and hugged her tightly.

"Oh, I missed you so much Elisse..."

"I missed you so much too, Miss Winter... Where have you been?"

I moved away from her and smiled. "I just had to do something important, that is why I wasn't able to go home last night."

"Winter, let's talk." Matthew suddenly spoke.

I stood up straight and glared at him. "Talk about what?"

"A-About... L-Let's just talk. I'll just drive Elisse to her school and—

"No need, Mr. Matthew. I will be the one to drive her there. Besides, I will go there too."

I could feel my blood boiling just by hearing that woman's voice. They are both so good at acting.

"Thank you so much for letting me stay the night, Mr. Matthew and Miss Winter. Elisse and I are going now."

"Bye, Miss Winter! Bye, Brother!"

I forced a smile on my face and waved goodbye to Elisse before they finally left.

"Follow me," Matthew commanded me.

"No, I won't. If you want to say something, then why don't you just say it here?"

He obviously got surprised by how I acted, but then he just cleared his throat and glanced at Ian before looking at me again. "Dr. Belle just stayed here because she was drunk last night. I didn't have any choice since I don't know where she lives."

Liar.

"So? That's the only thing you want to tell me?"

"You should have called me last night. You should have told me where you were going so we wouldn't be worrying about you. Elisse was so worried about you."

I raised an eyebrow at him. "You should be telling that to yourself, Matthew. Oh, well. Why am I even obligated to tell you where I am going when we're just pretending to be a couple?"

"Your grandfather entrusted you to me, that's why--

"Can you just stop saying nonsense things?! Also, stop pretending as if you care about me when you don't even give a fuck about me!"

"Winter... Why are you acting like this?"

I laughed sarcastically. "Why am I acting like this? Do you want to know why I'm acting like this? Fine, I'll tell you! But before that, can you tell me where were you last night?!"

"I-I just went to a special gathering."

"Oh, right? A gathering with that school doctor, right?"

"Winter---

"I'll tell you. I was at a cruise ship dinner with Ian last night. I actually don't want to go on events like that, but I wanted to unwind since my fake husband didn't even bother telling me where the hell he went to."

Matthew obviously got surprised when I mentioned the cruise ship.

Before he could speak again, I already cut him off. "Yes! I was on the same cruise ship as you and that doctor! And yes, I saw that! That night when she kissed you!"

"Winter, I can explain that. It's not what you're thinking."

"Come on, Matthew! Stop making excuses now! I am not a fool to believe you. The two of you have a relationship, right? Well, that's not an issue, anyway, since we don't really have any official relationship. But you should have told me about that, Matthew. You should have at least told me you already love someone else so I wouldn't expect anything from you anymore!"

"Winter, listen to me first, please."

He was about to hold my arm, but Ian immediately stood between us and faced him. "Try to touch Winter and I'll definitely hurt you."

I wiped the tears that were filling my eyes and looked at Matthew again. "Anyway, you can continue your relationship. I don't care about whatever you do anymore. Because starting from now on, I'll be living as if you never existed in my life."

"Winter..."

I walked away and w went straight to my room after that.

I already convinced myself last night that I won't cry in front of him and that I didn't get hurt at all, but why did I cry in front of him?!

"Go on, cry all you want. You need that." I suddenly heard Ian's voice beside me.

"I hate him so much.. I hate Matthew so much.."
