Chapter 100: Chapter 100
Winter's POV
"Woah, I think it's been a while since we had coffee together. I thought you have already forgotten me." I teased Ian while we were having coffee inside our favorite coffee shop.
He glared at me. "It's because I don't want to bother you and your cowardice boyfriend."
"Hey, don't call him like that!"
"Fine, fine. Defend him all you want."
"You should be happy for me. You know, we can't stay single forever. We're not getting any younger. We need to find someone we want to settle down with. It's nice being single, but having romance feels different, too. You better find a girlfriend already. Don't worry, I'll arrange a blind date for you."
"Ah, stop meddling with my romantic life after rejecting me for the second time. You'll see, I'll have a girlfriend in no time. And when that happens, I will never show my face to you again."
I laughed. "Come on, you're being too loyal. I know you can never find someone like me, but for sure you'll find someone who will love you, too."
"I don't even know if that's a compliment or what."
"Then just take it as one."
Before I could even take a sip of my coffee, Ian stood up which made me look up at him. I got surprised when he moved closer to me and gave me a headlock. "You, witch. You really don't think I can find a woman who will love me, huh?"
"W..What the hell do you think you're doing?! I will surely kill you, Ian! Let go of me now or I'll pray for you to become impotent!"
"W-What?! You!"
He immediately let go of me and sat down in his chair again. "Take that back!"
"And why would I? After humiliating me in front of these people? I won't take that back, you hopeless romantic man."
"What did you say?! You're looking down on me like that just because you already have a boyfriend, huh? You witch!"
"Stop calling me witch, you old hag!"
We glared at each other for a few seconds before Ian finally gave up and leaned on his chair. "By the way, a talk-show host asked me if she could interview you next week."
"A talk-show host?"
"Uh-huh. She usually interviews successful entrepreneurs or even starters in the business world. That would be a good opportunity for you to promote your business."
I stared at him for a while before standing up and hugging him tightly while he was still sitting in his chair. "You really are the best, Ian. I love you so much!"
He pats my shoulders. "Don't say things like that. I might fall for you again."
That's when I moved away from him and smiled. "I'll go there. Thank you so much, Ian. Thank you for everything."
"Fine. You're welcome. Stop thanking me as if we'll never see each other again."
"Alright, I guess I'm taking back what I said a while ago. You're not going to be impotent now."
"Stop saying that already. That might even come true if you keep on saying that."
"Fine, fine, I'm not going to mention it anymore," I said while teasingly smiling at him.
After having a coffee with Ian, I headed back to my boutique and continue working again. Matthew started going to work again, so we only get to see each other at night at home. We don't usually talk for too long since we're both tired.
Speaking of the devil I love. My phone started to ring. I put my pen down and answered his call immediately.
"Hey."
"What are you doing?"
"I'm already working. I just had a coffee with Ian."
"I see."
"How about you? Have you had lunch already?"
"I don't have enough time for that. I have so many things to do." he ended his sentence with a sigh.
"You should never skip your meal. You know what? Instead of talking to me right now, just eat your lunch."
He didn't reply immediately. I could even hear him typing on his laptop, so he was probably working while having a conversation with me.
"I really can't. I'm actually doing some work right now."
"You really are so workaholic. You should think about your health all the time. Ah, if only I can go there and bring you some lunch right now. Your company's too far from mine."
"It's alright. Hearing your voice is already enough for me to be full."
I couldn't help but smile. "Oh, the cheesy man that you are. By the way, I'll be going on a talk show next week. That would be a great opportunity for me to promote my company. Just like what Ian told me."
"Really? That's great then. I just don't know if I could go there with you."
"It's fine with me. Ian will go there with me, anyway. Also, I know you have a lot of things to do."
I heard him heave a sigh from the other side. "I'll make sure I get all of this done this week so I could go there with you."
"Don't rush yourself, I don't want you to pressure yourself even more, you know. Seeing you at home is already enough for me to be happy. Alright, we should go back to work now."
"Uhm. Okay. Let's just st see each other later."
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye."
As I ended the call, I put my phone down on my desk and leaned on my chair. Sometimes I'm asking myself if I'm being a good girlfriend to Matthew or not. We're both always busy with our work, and I couldn't even bring him lunch.
Ah, just a minute and I'm already missing him.
So, this is really how it feels when you have a boyfriend. You keep on thinking about him every single minute of the day and you feel like dying whenever you miss him.
I would hug him so tight when I go home later.
