Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Erik's POV

Damn that black magic of his. If he is a werewolf, he should fight like one.

"It is tiring to be on guard for his magic and aura simultaneously," Liam snarled.

"I agree, but I can see that he is more dependent on his magical powers," I replied and continued avoiding every spell that Alpha Roy cast.

"Tell me, Alpha Roy, why did you betray your long-time friend and us? You even tortured and killed your cousin," I said and waved my claw at the rock he kept throwing.

"Why, you say?" Alpha Roy replied while tilting his head.

"It's because he keeps trying to get what is supposed to be mine! I am the chosen one, not him or you!" Alpha Roy shouted and started casting ice spells.

"Come on! Now, it's ice? Ice spear at that!" Liam complained in my head, and I just decided to ignore him.

We aren't going anywhere if I keep on avoiding. My powers are not compatible with magic. Tia should be the one who is here fighting that traitor. "What am I saying? I keep on complaining about stupid things." I sighed and jumped sideways to avoid another one of his attacks.

I need to get closer to him, and he seems to be confident in his powers, so that I will use his confidence to my advantage.

"Liam, focus on using Clara's authority for defense, and I'll focus on running toward that bastard for a close-range battle," I said, and Liam nodded.

As I've said to Liam, I focused on running straight to Alpha Roy while Liam used authority at every attack of Alpha Roy. I must also be focused enough to avoid the mud-like ground that the old man cast.

"Tired of being a coward now, are we?" Alpha Roy said and smirked. I rolled my eyes at his arrogance.

"I just realized why I would need to avoid a weakling," I retorted, and Alpha Roy got angry again at my taunting.

"This old man has a temper," Liam said while laughing. I smiled at Liam's words and fastened my speed to run toward Alpha Roy. When I finally got closer, I tried clawing his eyes, but he moved his head, causing him to lose his ear. I didn't let him cast another spell and continued attacking him at every corner. I will move from corner to corner and continuously attack him while using my authority against him. He couldn't keep up with my speed, so he couldn't predict where I would strike next.

Feeling at a disadvantage, Alpha Roy made a smaller version of the fireball that he cast earlier and used it as a screen bomb for him to get away from me as possible. I didn't care about our gap again since Liam was focusing on defense, so I could only focus on getting closer to him and attacking him again. He coughed blood and was wounded at different parts of his body, and I saw him grit his teeth in anger. When I was about to get close again, he suddenly shifted and tried clawing my face.

"Oh, so you're a werewolf? I thought that you were an evil warlock for a second!" I sarcastically said and kept dashing straight at him and continued attacking him. He kept throwing me small fireballs, and when the smoke got so thick that we barely saw each other, he would try and attack me. I repeatedly waved my paws to remove the smoke, and it worked.

"Grrr," Alpha Roy, who couldn't talk in his wolf form, all he could do was growl at me. We kept on growling at each other while walking in circles.

When I heard a horn being blown at the back of Alpha Roy's pack house, I knew that Alpha Rick and his warriors had arrived. I smiled inwardly. I looked back at the old man and saw his surprised look. "What? Did you think you would only fight with the king of werewolves after waging war with the royal pack? You are fighting against the whole country, Alpha Roy!" I said, and he snarled at me.

I launched at him, continuously attacked him, and used my authority. Alpha Roy was coughing blood while striking me using his aura and black magic. I was enjoying having the upper hand when I suddenly felt Clara's emotion in our mate link.

"Our mate is scared!" Liam shouted in my mind, and I didn't waste any more time and continued attacking Alpha Roy with all my might, not giving him a chance to breathe.

Alpha Roy keeps on avoiding my physical attacks and stepping backward. I looked at what was behind him and saw a whole pond of sand. "Quicksand, so stupid," I said to myself. I ignored that he was leading me into the quicksand and continued attacking him.

I slowed down for a second when he was near the quicksand. I predicted that he would avoid my attack to the left. When I saw a little gap between us, I acted like I was about to rush forward to him again, but I just repeatedly waved my claws at him. Although I predicted that he would jump sideways to the left, I attacked him multiple times to ensure that if my prediction were wrong, he would also get attacked in any direction from which he planned on escaping.

As he landed after jumping to the left, he got attacked by the blades that formed after waving my claws. My claw mark injured one eye, causing him to lose balance. He fell to the quicksand, and because he panicked, the quicksand ate him faster. When he realized he would die on the quicksand, he changed it back into its original form. Alpha Roy was struggling to get out of the ground, and when he was about to come out from the land, I rushed forward to him and severed his head from his body using my claws, which were strengthened by my aura. In one swift move, I cut off Alpha Roy's head.

In his last breath, he just stared at me until he died. I was about to touch his body to confirm if he was dead, but his body dried up until his whole body vanished. I was about to make sure that he was really dead since I didn't know if he still had something on his sleeve, and I didn't know what other things can black magic do.

I was about to sit and rest for a minute when I remembered what I felt in my mate link with Clara. I turned my back on Alpha Roy's grave and left to go to Clara. I lost my father at a young age, and since then, Alpha Roy's back has always been the one I kept following. He was a father figure to me, but I didn't feel anything when I cut off his head and saw his body vanish with my own eyes. I felt empty. I pushed everything about Alpha Roy in the back of my head and focused on running towards where my mate was.

"Clara!" I mind-linked her, but my voice couldn't be heard because I was blocked.

Third Person's POV

Klaus couldn't help but laugh at who was standing before him. It was the Alpha of the royal guards, The Silver Growler's pack, Vincent Lee. "How's my old pal doing?" Klaus asked while smirking at Vincent, but Vincent ignored him.

Vincent was not interested in his taunts in the slightest. The only thing on his mind is killing him to avenge his father and his sister's suffering. Even though Vincent wanted to kill him as soon as possible, he stayed calm. He watches and observes everything about the man that is smirking in front of him. Klaus, who saw Vincent's expressionless face, frowned.

"Boring," Klaus said, feeling disappointed, but that was soon changed into excitement. He smiled happily at Vincent, and he was excited to see what Vincent's face would look like if he lost. Klaus was imagining Vincent begging him to spare him. This made Klaus beam with happiness while hugging himself.

Vincent's stone-cold face turned into a disgusted expression. "This must be your true self," Vincent said calmly.

"Hey, the one who changed me was the pack and your very own father, you know. Even though I was part of the pack, they always checked up on me like I was about to do something evil," Klaus replied and looked at Vincent like he was joking.

"Seeing you now as a rogue, you looked happier. So I guess their intuition is true. I pity you, Klaus. We may have been good sworn brothers if not for this," Vincent said calmly and closed his eyes while shooting his head.

Klaus used magic and changed his appearance. "So what," Klaus said while using the arrival of his former leader, Vincent, and Clara's father, but Vincent ignored his taunt. He just looked at Klaus calmly.

"Tch, you're boring, huh?" Klaus said, turning his appearance back to its original look. Vincent was unfazed at the fact that Klaus could use magic. So many things have happened, and maybe because of that, Vincent predicted that werewolves could use magic.

"Enough talk, Klaus. These will be my last words. I'll kill you," Vincent said with his most severe tone and shifted into wolf form.

Klaus' eyes grew big at Vincent's words, and he laughed until a tear escaped. "Oh, that was the greatest joke I've heard," Klaus said and laughed again. After laughing out loud, his attitude changed, the happy expression was now gun, and a crazy lunatic expression was now on his face.

Vincent prepared himself when he saw his attitude change of Klaus. "He's coming," Vincent thought, and his thoughts were confirmed. Klaus growled loudly and confidently launched at Vincent. Because of Klaus' confidence, he felt he could kill Vincent in one strike, but Klaus seemed to forget that the werewolf that he is currently fighting is now an Alpha of the strongest pack and the king's right-hand man. That means that the man he is fighting right now is vital.

In a few minutes, Klaus realized that he should not underestimate Vincent. The Alpha of the strongest pack and also known as the royal guard, his strength lives up to his title. His attacks on Klaus were terrifyingly accurate and fast. It was like every move Klaus made was being read by Vincent. Thanks to Klaus' black magic, he can stop all of the bleeding from his various wounds.

"This rogue was the one who killed my father and made my sister experience hell." Vincent thought and easily dodged Klaus's attack and bit off the skin on Klaus's leg.

Klaus jumped backward, making a gap between them. He gritted his teeth in frustration while using his black magic to stop another bleeding. Vincent spits out Klaus' skin and slowly growls at Klaus. "He's weak, too weak" In this realization, Vincent, calm since the start of their fight, became furious and attacked Klaus aggressively.

"Don't make me laugh!" He shouted in his thoughts while repeatedly attacking the weak enemy in front of him.

"You!" Vincent kept talking to Klaus even though Klaus couldn't hear it. Vincent's anger exploded when he saw how weak his enemy was. Besides his magic that stops his bleeding and changing appearances, Klaus has nothing worth it.

"You who killed my father and made my sister suffer! You are an imbecile! Don't kid with me! For months I have had trouble tracking you! I didn't know that all the warriors' time, my sister's suffering, and the one who challenged my king's authority were wasted because of one worm! DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!" Vincent repeatedly shouted in his mind while attacking Klaus aggressively.

Klaus, who always thought everything was a game, felt scared for the first time—looking at Vincent's vicious expression and terrifying killing intent. He couldn't take all the beating anymore and thought it best to run away. He was about to run away, but Vincent cut his leg off. Klaus couldn't react. He didn't even see Vincent getting close to him. At the sight of his leg being cut off, he howled and whined loudly like a pup.

Seeing that Klaus couldn't do anything in his terrified state. Vincent changed into his human form and looked down on Klaus, who kept whining. "I'll take my time on killing you," Vincent said, using his terrifying voice. As he watched Vincent walk slowly towards him, Klaus gasped and was scared to death. He wanted to run away, but he couldn't move his body. He felt like Vincent's killing intent was chaining it up.

Watching Klaus while he took his time getting closer to him, Vincent smirked. When Vincent arrived in front of Klaus, he didn't waste any more time. He severed Klaus another leg and severed another until Klaus lost all four of his legs. In his continuous bleeding, Klaus' body grew so weak that his body returned to its human form.

In the situation where Vincent vents out all of his suppressed anger, you can say that Vincent is the monster and evil instead of Klaus, but Vincent doesn't care about anything else. He kept on severing the body of Klaus. Even though Klaus was long gone, he kept going and cut off his body into small parts repeatedly. Vincent's whole body was now covered in Klaus' blood. He repeatedly attacked Klaus' dead body.

Vincent felt someone's grip on his shoulder and turned his head to look at that someone. Erik, who was on his way to Clara, saw him on the way and pitied Vincent, who mercilessly killed a dead werewolf. The back of Vincent, who keeps attacking a corpse, looks so sad to Erik that he rushes towards Vincent to stop him.

Vincent didn't have time to mourn his father's death because he was an older brother, and he needed to stand firm for his little sister. He didn't have time to be sad or feel anything in countless tragedies. Now, the dead body of Klaus, who got cut off into little pieces, was the result of all the emotions of Vincent that have been suppressed.

Vincent's blank look is what greeted Erik. The king and his best friend tightened their grip on Vincent's shoulder. "It's okay now. He's dead," Erik said while smiling sadly at Vincent. Without a response, Erik nodded and tightened his grip again. "He's gone. Klaus is dead." He said, and the colors of Vincent's eyes returned.

Vincent pursed his lips sadly, trying his best not to cry, and raised his head, looking at the sky. He exhaled the air in and out until he managed to calm himself. Erik, noticing that he had calmed down, turned his back and shifted into his wolf form again.

"Let's go to the Queen," He said, and Vincent shifted into his wolf form at his king's words.
