Chapter 62: Chapter 62
Third Person’s POV
Erik and Vincent rushed to where Clara was but didn’t know that they were far away from where they were. They ran non-stop to get where Clara was, especially Erik, he kept feeling Clara’s emotions, and they got stronger. The fear he felt through their mate link made him so nervous, and he was so worried that he thought he would lose Clara again if he were late for the second time. Erik didn’t want to go through that pain again. He kept on gritting his teeth in frustration that Vincent, beside him, also felt nervous just by looking at his King’s expression.
In an hour, they saw Clara standing and growling lowly at someone. Erik was surprised to know they were at the corner of the territory. He saw Merlin holding his child in her arms at the cliff's end, and he immediately understood what Clara was feeling. Clara was frustrated. She wanted to kill Merlin so badly but couldn’t move. One wrong move and they could lose their child this time. Seeing that Erik and Vincent had arrived, Merlin smiled at them. Clara’s eyes grew big at Merlin’s smile, and she looked so happy that her worn-out face looked so bright.
“Hey, tell me,” Merlin said, looking at them sadly.
“Tell me everything you want. Please do not harm the child,” Clara said. Erik didn’t look so surprised that Clara could talk in her wolf form since Erik had achieved it earlier.
“We will do anything,” Erik said from Clara behind. Merlin smiled brightly again, which made them more nervous.
“How was my sister?” She asked. They were more surprised that the evil witch asked about her sister's well-being this time.
“She is with us. She got left behind at the battlefield,” Erik replied nervously.
“I see. She must’ve known about my health,” Merlin said and stepped back to get near the cliff's end.
“No! Please!” Clara begged Merlin, but the witch smiled brightly.
“I’m sorry,” she said, letting herself fall into the cliff while holding their child. At the sound of the child crying, Clara rushed towards Merlin, hoping to catch her child, but it was no use. All Clara could do was watch her child fall off the cliff until she couldn’t see them anymore. She was so shocked that she changed into human form and kneeled at the ridge.
On the other hand, Erik was just behind Clara and again felt helpless. He was shocked as Clara, but when she looked at Clara, he was hoping for something. He collapsed at the sight of her mate. Clara’s eyes don’t have any light on them. She was just there emotionless, looking at the cliff while kneeling. Vincent was crying at the sight of his leaders, and he looked for a robe to cover Clara.
Erik changed into his human form and helped Clara back on her feet. Clara didn’t protest or say anything since she was already dead inside. Erik turned around while carrying Clara, and he looked at Vincent expressionless. “Look for them,” he said, tightening his grip on Clara.
“Please,” Erik said to Vincent and smiled sadly. Vincent gritted his teeth at the look of Erik. He couldn’t hold back his tears any longer. He knows his King is almost broken, but he knows that Clara needs her and the country. Vincent clenched his chest in pain while looking at his sister in Erik’s arms.
His King was broken but still chose to face it for the sake of his country and mate while his Queen was dead on the inside. Clara didn’t cry or have a fit at that time. She died when she couldn’t save her child and saw the child fall. She was crushed even though she was already broken.
“Moon Goddess, why did you let them feel this? They deserve to be happy and don’t deserve this,” Vincent prayed.
When Erik walked away while holding Clara in his arms, Vincent started looking for any signs of Merlin and their child.
In the battle back at the Wild Peak’s pack house, the warriors are still fighting at the end, not giving up. Even though they are disadvantage in numbers, they still gave up and are still fighting. Their anger for the traitors and rogues kept them fighting furiously. Amid the battle, where the warriors were starting to feel tired, they all heard a horn being blown.
At the sound of the horn, the enemies started to feel nervous, and the warrior's fatigue vanished, and they looked at their enemies viciously. The enemies were frightened; they understood immediately that the werewolves in front of them were the predators. The warriors attacked, and the reinforcements followed. Alpha Rick, who saw the battlefield and how the warriors fought, made his blood boil in excitement. The warrior inside of him woke up, and he charged into the battlefield. He started killing every single of the enemies in his sight while laughing evilly. The warriors of Alpha Rick got inspired by their Alpha and charged in barbarically.
Alpha Kyle and his mate Luna Rica smiled. “We’re only a lion, hahaha! The beast has arrived on the battlefield,” Luna said, returning to her wolf form while Alpha Kyle smiled excitedly. He rushed forward to Alpha Rick's side and fought happily beside him.
Alpha Rick’s presence was felt throughout the battlefield. His presence ignited another fire in the warriors and burned the enemies' fire. At that moment, he was titled the commander. The enemies were frightened at the look of their enemies. Yes, they were strong. The enemies knew that. Still, they managed to keep them in check because of their number, but now when they look at the enemies, all they can feel is death. At the arrival of Alpha Rick and when he started fighting, every single one of them turned into crazy wolves that were hungry for blood.
The warriors killed and killed every single one of them without rest. They are indeed beasts that are hungry for blood, and they were hungry for the blood of their enemies. In the middle of the fight, Alpha Rick howled and growled loudly. All of them understood the signal of Alpha Rick. The sign of Alpha Rick was, “The King himself already said it, don’t let anyone get away,” and they all followed what their King wanted and mercilessly killed every one of the enemies.
On the other hand, Erik arrived at the pack house, but instead of walking straight to the battlefield, he entered the pack house. The she-wolves, alongside their children, were scared of their presence. “Get me a chair” one of the she-wolves rushed to get him a chair and put it in the middle of the pack house. Erik sat there while holding Clara waiting for his warriors to come to him. He was tired of everything, so he left it to his warriors to clean everything.
He sat there emotionless and quietly while the she-wolves and children hugged each other at the sides, praying they would survive everything. The battle was almost finished, and Tia walked towards the Alphas. Tia knew that Erik was inside the pack house with Clara, and when she noticed that her mate was not with them, she immediately understood what had happened. She stopped fighting, seeing that the warriors could finish the war alone, and went down from above.
She flew straight down toward where the Alphas were. “Alpha, Let’s go,” She ordered Alpha Rick, and hearing this, Alpha Kyle stopped fighting and followed Tia. Luna Tia was not your average Luna. They all knew and respected her since her position was higher than theirs. The royals were the top and the second was the leaders of the royal guards, and the third in power was now Alpha Rick, the commander of all warriors. Alpha Kyle, who realized this, didn’t feel any regrets. He understood in this war that Alpha Rick was above him and respected everyone’s position. It’s not that he is contented in his position. He will get more vital to be recognized by the King. “The country is in great hands, but I won’t lose,” he said to himself with excitement.
Erik, sitting in the middle of the pack house, saw Tia enter and open the door. Tia was surprised at the look of his King, but she stayed quiet and understood what was happening to him. She looked sadly at the couple in front of her, especially the state of Clara, looking at something but not seeing it. The light in her eyes was gone. Tia tried her very best to stop herself from crying. When the Alphas entered the pack house, Tia started walking toward the King and Queen. The Alphas, on the other hand, stopped in their tracks and looked at their King and Queen in surprise. They gulped nervously and followed Tia from behind.
Tia kneeled, and the others followed. “Your majesty, your highness, the war has ended,” Tia said. “I see. Where are the others?” They all felt nervous at the sound of the King’s voice. It was almost as if the King was threatening them.
“They are cleaning up, your majesty,” Alpha Rick said.
“Then, find my child. Search everywhere,” Erik ordered in a low voice.
The Alphas and Tia pursed their lips in frustration. They won the fight but not the war. They lost the royal highness, an heir to the throne. “I don’t care if you need to turn the country upside down. Find everywhere and everything. That is the cleanup,” Erik said in a threatening voice. The Alpha and Tia were pushed down on the floor, and they were not being pushed down by the King’s power or his killing intent. His presence alone pushed him down, and with this, they grew more frightened.
“I’ll go back with the Queen and leave the rest to you, Luna Tia.”
“Yes, your majesty,” Tia replied while bowing her head. When Erik left the pack house, they all had the leisure to breathe appropriately.
While the two Alphas were busy catching their breath, Tia was staring at the floor, not moving an inch. “He used the word Luna in front of me, questioning my worth, my title. This is not a task, and everything depends on this.” Tia thought.
Tia sighed and closed her eyes to calm herself. When she calmed herself down, she stood from the ground and looked at the two Alphas with a severe faces. The two Alpha masked their face and became tough on the matter. “We’ll split out, and I will go to my mate who is currently searching where they lost the royal highness, you two search in the other directions. Don’t miss anything,” Tia ordered, and the two Alphas nodded. They all go their separate ways while Erik walks through the battlefield where the warriors are.
The warriors were surprised at first, but they all bowed down in front of their rulers. “Clean properly” Was all the words that Erik said to them, and they walked away. Ian, on the other hand, was following them from behind. Erik knew this but got irritated that someone was following them like a rat.
“Come,” Erik ordered, and Ian immediately came in front of Erik while kneeling on one knee. “Your majesty, your highness,” He greeted.
“Hold the queen,” Erik said, and Ian, who was bewildered at first, pursed his lips and followed the King's order. He held Clara and waited for Erik to do something or order him the next move, but Erik changed into his wolf form and showed his back to Ian.
Ian realized what he meant and properly put Clara down on Erik’s back. On the other hand, Clara still has no other movements, just being quiet and looking at something even though she is not looking. Ian also changed into his wolf form and waited for Erik to move. Erik turned his head back to look at Ian.
“I’ll focus on running. I am tired. You kill everyone who stands in the way,” Erik said, and Ian nodded.
Erik runs back to their territory at full speed while ensuring that Clara won’t fall off his back. Ian, who was barely keeping up, also focused on their surroundings. Even though he is having a hard time, it is still remarkable that he keeps up until the end.
