Chapter 76: Chapter 76

"Julia, I don't think so!" Rebecca felt shaky in her heart when those words came out of her mouth.

"Mr.Edwin told me that he helped me because I was one of his employees and he is not a bad boss who let his employees work in ill health."

Rebecca's words made Julia shake her head and heavily sighed.

"It's just an excuse Rebecca!"

"I could see that but still if you don't want to accept that then just let it go!" Julia felt tired. She actually wanted to explain to her friend that she was getting a perfect man for herself but she always avoids her good messages and doesn't want to negotiate with them.

"Julia, you are thinking too much! Don't forget! I'm already a pregnant woman!" Those words the first time felt heavy on her lips.

"Even he has feelings for me as you said! Do you think so? His feelings are not going to change for me after knowing my condition?" She touched her belly and looked at her friend with serious stares.

"Tell me, Julia! If he knows about my pregnancy will he still like me?" Rebecca's eyes turned moist.

Julia felt silent and pressed her lips tightly.

She knew Rebecca's words were true.

No matter how much a man loves or likes a woman but their egos are always just like a mountain's peak. It can't break easily. They will never like to accept another man's baby. Or who is already pregnant and a single mother. It creates only a lot of doubts in their heads to relate baby and mother nature. They will feel the disgrace of being with that type of woman.

Seeing her friend silent. She got her answer.

Rebecca's lips curled up with a bittersweet smile before she stood up from her place.

"Julia, I know you want me to be happy and do this all for my future. But you know my condition is different from a normal girl. I can't think about love anymore as I already have a big responsibility for myself! And that is my baby!" She looked down and touched her belly while creasing it.

"I can't be with anyone! I can only have my baby with me!" Rebecca's words carry so much heaviness that Julia's eyelashes tremble when she met her red eyes.

Rebecca held her tears which could fall anytime. She didn't say those words only for Julia but for herself too. She wanted to remind herself why she started the job. What is her real reason?

She needs to remember. She can't fall in love. She doesn't have any rights anymore. Edwin is the perfect man but she doesn't deserve him.

She's just lying to him and hiding the truth.

…..

Edwin finally returned home at midnight when his parents had already gone to their bedroom to sleep.

He took a quick shower and directly went to the study room.

He wanted to check on the pregnancy book one more time to get more information about food sickness.

He flipped through some pages when someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's me! Son!"

Hearing his mother's voice, Edwin instantly opens the door.

"Mom! Are you still awake!" He makes her sit on the couch while he sits beside her.

"I'm just talking to my old friend and saw you coming into the study room. So, just come to check on you!" Mrs.Hutson smiled and continued.

"So, what are you doing too late here! You just came from a meeting, now you should rest!"

"Don't work too hard!" Her eyes filled with concern while she touched his cheek.

Edwin smiled and put his hand on her hand.

"Mom, Can I ask you something?" Edwin's voice turned low while there is seriousness at the same time.

Mrs.Hutson looked at her son's serious expression and nodded.

"Yes, son! Ask me! What do you want to ask?"

She backward her hand from his cheek while holding his hand between her palms resting on her lap.

"How do you feel? When you come to know you are pregnant with me and how was your experience every day in that condition?"

Edwin's eyes stared at her while Mrs.Hutson felt little taken back to hear her son's question.

She does not expect him to suddenly be turned curious about pregnancy but she still responded to him with a big smile.

"When the doctor told me that I was pregnant with you I was excited and nervous! My whole brain shut for a moment because suddenly everything changes. Your news changed my and your dad's life completely."

He smiled.

"What about pregnancy symptoms?" He asked.

"Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad!" She responded.

"What do you mean?" He raised his brows.

Mrs.Hutson chuckled while responding.

"When it comes to morning sickness, mood swings, and laziness. I'm always on top. And in my heavy pregnancy, it got worse but I was glad that your dad was always there with me! Or I don't know how I would handle all these symptoms alone!"

Edwin suddenly thought about Rebecca for a second. She's handling everything alone.

"And what is good?" He asked with curiosity.

"My cravings and being pregnant!" She grinned.

"When I was in my third month. I was always craving silly combination foods which made your dad not sleep for many nights!" She laughed out loud.

Edwin also chuckled.

"What combination foods?" He looked at his mom with a smile.

"Pizza with strawberries, a chicken friend with chocolates…"

"There are lots of combinations!"

"Because of this food, your dad thinks sometimes I'm crazy to invent this disaster mix-up!" She laughed.

Hearing his mom he sighed and said," Now I'm also thinking the same as dad! Those combinations are truly horrible!" He chuckled.

"But this is what you wanted when you were in my belly!" Mom arched brows.

"Yes...Yes...I know!" He can't win this argument with his mom.

"But son. Everything is just like magic for me in those nine months! I felt every emotion. Being a mother is such a big thing that in the start I was so nervous and always started to cry late at night. But your dad is always there for me and you. He supported me not only mentally and physically but also emotionally."

Edwin felt his mom's words deeply.

"Pregnancy changed a woman's life not only physically but her thoughts of vision and the way she handles her surroundings. There will be no more 'I' in her words but always 'Us'. Because she already turned to mother as soon as their fetus!"

Edwin's eyes looked at her mom and squeezed her hand.

"Thank you for bringing me up!"

Mrs.Hutson smiled and nodded.

"Son, remember one thing. When a woman gets pregnant she gets attached to everything so emotionally. She will cry without any reason sometimes, she will ask you about her physique again and again. She will get angry sometimes even if there is no big reason. But all you need to do is support her. That phase is so important to her and all she wants is care, love, and a happy supportive partner beside her who should be ready to handle all her moods. No matter what happens !"

"So, I hope you also be a great dad just like your father!"

"And we are already there to guide you!" Mrs. Hutson's eyes turned tender.

Hearing His mom all the words, he felt a little taken back. He never thought pregnancy is this important. Yes, he read magazines and books but the way her mom explained everything. That was the best!

"Thank you for sharing your memories!"

"Silly boy! You can ask anything!" She lightly patted his back.

"Now you should sleep!" She said standing up from the couch.

"Yes, I'll after arranging the files!" He responded.

"Alright! But do it fast!" She looked at him strictly.

"Yes, Mom! Now good night!" He stood and kissed her cheek.

"Good night! Son!" She touched his one side cheek and then walked out of the room locking the door behind her.

He sat on his chair and looked at his phone screen only to see her wallpaper.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry for not being there with you the whole time until now!" He whispered and sighed.

Now hearing from his mother, he wanted to change his plan and wanted to tell her the truth as soon as possible.

He wanted to be with her and their child when she felt those symptoms as his mom mentioned. He can't see her struggling when he is capable of doing and bringing everything for her with one finger.
