Chapter 74: Chapter 74

As both sit in the car, Edwin starts putting on the seat belt of his seat. While seeing his action, Rebecca also tries to put on her seat belt. But because the belt is too tight, she is not able to pull it with her hand. She tried to put more strength on it but she couldn't understand why it was not working.

Seeing this, Edwin suddenly leans towards her to help her and extends his hand on the seat belt.

But as his hand touched her finger, she turned back to look at his side.

Suddenly finding him too close to her, her eyes widened while she looked at him with a surprised face.

As his eyes saw her cutest reaction, he couldn't help but raise his lips from the corner which couldn't be seen.

He didn't change his position and spoke in a low tone.

"Let me help you!"

Hearing his soft tone, she pressed her lips tightly while finally releasing her hand from the seat belt and sat back straight.

Edwin's eyes looked at her pretty pinkish face and felt she was too adorable.

He leaned close to her which made her heart beat faster while she stopped breathing for a moment.

He saw that and felt funny.

He looked at the seat belt direction and pulled it in one go without any strength and tucked it.

She saw that and thought he should take good care of his body. Or else how could he pull the seat belt without any effort?

He turned back forward to go back to his seat but he stopped when his face was just a few inches away from her.

While his expensive perfume hit her nostrils. She felt this perfume was familiar but how? she didn't remember.

She looked at him while he looked at her. Their eyes look at each other for a moment until the random car's honking sound disturbs them.

And they both turned composed. Edwin comes back to his seat. While Rebecca felt suffocating from stopped breathing as her face turned completely red.

Edwin looked at her side and suddenly spoke out.

"Now you can breathe, Miss Rebecca!" His words were like teasing her.

She felt too embarrassed and finally took a breath.

Edwin saw her action from the corner of his eyes and wanted to chuckle but he controlled it.

As they were both on their seat belts, Edwin finally started the engine and drove out of the restaurant.

On the other side, To hide her embarrassment, Rebecca looks out the window.

Along the way, both of them look at each other intermittently but no one starts talking. And just like that without talking the whole path gets cut off.

Edwin stopped his car in front of Julia's flat while Rebecca looked at the flat and sighed in relief. Today's dinner is truly heavy for her. Now she started to feel a little tired as she thought about taking a rest.

She turned to look at Edwin who is already looking at her which made her take back for a moment before she finally thanked him.

"Thank you, Mr.Edwin, for personally driving me home!"

Edwin, hearing her soft voice nodded in response.

But again there is a long silence between them.

Rebecca felt it turning awkward so she spoke out first and announced.

"I'm leaving then! Good night Mr.Edwin and safe drive!" She gave a small smile and turned to open the car door.

But as soon as her hand touched the car handle, Edwin's big hand wrapped around her finger and stopped her.

"Miss Rebecca!"

"Huh?" Rebecca felt confused by his sudden action and turned to look at her. But as she turned his face too close that they could hear each other's breath. She clenched her dress while her eyes looked at him.

Their closeness made her cheeks warm while he immediately composed himself before finally speaking out.

"Miss Rebecca, I just want to tell you that I'm giving you a break for a few days."

"You can join the work after the weekend!"

As he finished his words, Rebecca felt shocked and confused to hear her boss's sudden announcement.

She couldn't help but ask the next moment why he was suddenly making this decision.

"Mr.Edwin, but why??.."

"I...I mean.."

"I don't think I need a break."

She said it while looking at him with serious stares.

She needs to work or else what about her salary? She bit her lower lips while stressing out.

Edwin felt her nervousness and crushed himself to not explain to her his words briefly.

Next moment he tried to explain himself.

"Miss Rebecca."

She looked into his eyes and waited for him to speak up.

"Miss Rebecca, after seeing your health is not good. I can't let you work in poor health."

His words made her understand while he continued.

"I'm not that type of boss who takes their employees as a slave to work none stop even when their health is not good. So just accept my order and rest for a few days. I'm sure you don't want to make your own health worse."

She felt speechless.

"As soon as you get healthy. You can join the office again. And by the way, it's Thursday which means you are only missing one day. Sat is half-day and after the weekend you will be already fine to do your task!" His eyes always looked at her with seriousness while his voice was just calm and low.

Rebecca looked at him all the time with stunning eyes.

"I hope, now you agreed!" He said while his vision turned tender.

He wanted to make her rest but as he knew she was stubborn he could only order her.

Rebecca thought about her child's health and finally agreed with him. And as he is her boss she can't argue with him when he is absolutely right.

"Alright, Mr.Edwin! I'll take a break!" She nodded her head while confirming it.
