Chapter 67: Chapter 67

Before leaving work, she looked through her files and laptop to see if there is any more work left to do. She doesn't want to get distracted by other things and make any mistakes even though she knows she is already doing her best to be a good employee for her company.

After checking everything, she finally sighed in relief.

"All work done!" She murmured to herself while standing up from her chair. She looked at her wristwatch and thought about changing her dress.

Julia already provided her locker key in advance. So, all she needs to do is go and change it.

She was ready to leave her cabin when her office landline call started to ring.

She stopped on her way and turned back to her desk to take the call.

"Hello!" She answered the phone.

"Hello! Madam! It's me!" The servicemen's voice comes from another side.

Rebecca immediately recognized him and asked.

"Yes, Mr.Gill! What happened?" She asked and waited for his response.

"Madam, I have some emergency in my house. So, I can't come the full way to deliver the suit. Can you please help me to pick up the suit at the entrance of the building!" His voice is completely serious and nervous.

Rebecca could feel his nervousness. As a simple employee. She could understand the tension from his voice.

She sighed and responded.

"Mr.Gill, don't worry. You can bring a suit to the entrance. I'll come to pick it up. You just take care of your family and if you need any help let me know!"

Rebecca's words made the man's nervous voice calm down.

"Thank you, !" He thanked her.

"I'll be there in ten minutes!"

"Alright!" There was a generous smile on her face before she put back the phone.

The serviceman came anytime, so she thought to first wait for him. After collecting the suit and bringing it to Edwin's cabin. She can go for a change.

She looks through the watch and waits patiently until her phone rings again.

As she checks the phone screen, it's from the serviceman.

"Hello!" She picked it up instantly.

"Hello! Madam, I'm already on the spot!" He informed her.

"Alright, you wait there! I'm coming!" She responded and cut the call.

She walked out from her cabin and crossed through a long corridor. To get on the elevator. When her eyes looked at the cleaning woman who was wiping the marvel floor.

She became careful with her walk. She walked slowly on the wet floor and soon she reached the elevator. After entering inside it, she pressed the ground floor button.

As she reached the entrance, she saw the old servicemen standing with the big black bag in which there is Edwin's suit.

She walked towards him.

"Hello, Mr.Gil!" She smiled and greeted him.

He looked at her and smiled back.

"Hello, Madam! Thank you for accepting my request and coming to take this suit." The old man was truly grateful for her.

"Mr.Gil, don't say any more! I know it's a family matter and you need to hurry. So, I won't waste your time anymore! Please give the bag and you should return to your family. They would need you!" Her voice was soft and filled with concern for the old man.

The old man smiled gently and nodded.

"Yeah, I should leave, and thanks once again!"

He left the building while Rebecca looked at the big black bag.

As she held the bag she felt it was heavy for her. She used both hands to carry towards the elevator.

After looking through several files nonstop, finally Edwin finished his work.

He closed the laptop screen while he rested his back on the leather chair comfortably.

He glanced at his wristwatch to see the timing. It's already 4:30. Seeing that his eyes moved towards the glass to see Rebecca. If she's done with her work or not.

But as he turned his head, he found there was no one in the cabin. She's not anywhere to see.

Edwin's forehead creased. He instantly stood up from his chair and went to her cabin to check. But she's not anywhere.

On the other side, Rebecca comes out of the elevator. While her both hands were busy. She looked at the long corridor and started walking.

The cleaning woman staff is still there wiping the floor when suddenly a bucket of dirty detergent water, touching her feet, falls on the ground and flows everywhere.

Rebecca heard the bucket sound and wanted to look but before she could realize the water came over her feet and when she took the next step. Her leg instantly slipped.

"Ahhh!" She shouted and her eyes widened with terror while her hands loses the bag from her grip. She was scared to think about her baby. If she falls, her child would not survive!

Her eyes closed with fear to think that any second her head would hit the floor.

But to her surprise, it never touched the floor. At the right moment, someone held her hand and almost hugged her tightly. Like he will press her inside him.

"Rebecca!" The familiar voice instantly reaches her ears. While she finally opened her eyes with the trembling body. Just to meet Edwin's worried eyes, who are looking at her with the same nervousness.

She was so shocked by the incident that she didn't come out from the hug even after knowing the one who hugged her was Edwin.

But on the other side, she held him more tightly and the next moment tears ran down her cheeks.

If he didn't come and hold her at the right time. She would already lose her child thinking that her body started shaking. She was too scared from the incident. While without knowing her one hand wrapped around her belly.

On the other side, Edwin saw that and felt her feelings. His breath became heavy while he was trying to control his nervousness for Rebecca who is still in his arms with anxiety.

He truly thanked God that in the exact time he came out and saw her stepping on detergent water. Or else he doesn't know what he would do if something happened to Rebecca and the baby. And how hard that fall could be.

It was almost a close call for their baby.
