Chapter 66: Chapter 66

In the past few days, Rebecca was busy with office chores. But Edwin tried his best to not get Rebecca tired anyway. He always asked Sam to divide the work with her and make sure not to give her hard tasks or physical tasks.

Sam did his best to fulfill his boss's order. He always treats Rebecca with the same respect as he treated his boss.

He knew very well that one day she would be his madam because his boss already likes her and she is already carrying the Hutson corporation's heir. He needs to do his best to protect his boss's woman and child.

He wanted to see them together and that's why he sometimes creates some alone space for them to interact with each other in any way.

Edwin and Rebecca don't talk too much but yes they are in a good relationship as he could see.

Rebecca was now less nervous in front of Edwin while he tried to be as gentle as he could without showing his true feelings towards her. He doesn't want to scare her in any way.

"Boss, you need to attend a dinner conference with J.K. group," Sam reported.

"Alright!"

''Informed Rebecca. She will attend dinner with me!" Edwin instructed while his eyes still focused on the laptop's screen. His schedule is too busy nowadays.

"Alright boss!" Sam smiled and nodded before leaving him alone.

On the other side, Rebecca, who had just come out from another department with some files in her hand, heard Sam's voice and stopped mid-way.

"Miss Rebecca!"

As she turned saw him smiling and coming towards her.

She smiled back.

"Mr.Sam, is there anything?" She asked while looking at him.

"Yes, there is!" Sam said while his smile turned deep.

Rebecca raised her brows.

"And what is that?"

"You need to attend a dinner conference with Boss today!" Sam illustrated without hiding his broad smile.

"But why me?" Rebecca asked with little hesitation. She doesn't understand why she needs to go. Everytime Sam went everywhere with Edwin.

"Miss Rebecca, I'm busy with different tasks. So, I can't go there and in my absence, only you as a secretary could replace me. Boss can need you any time there! So, you should go with boss."

"And the boss personally told me to inform you about the dinner conference. That's why I'm here!" As Sam completed his words. Rebecca turned speechless. All she can do is a nod at him. She won't have a choice to deny anyway. It's her job.

"Alright, I'll go!" She assured him with a small smile.

"Good!"

"Then be ready at 5 p.m."

"You will go with the boss!" Sam explained everything.

"Okay, I'll remember!" She answered back.

"Great then! Now I should leave!" Sam said while she nodded.

But as soon as Sam left, Rebecca sighed.

She looked at her wristwatch where it was already 3 pm showing. She needs to attend dinner. It means she needs to change her dress and send a new fresh suit to her boss's cabin as soon as possible.

She needs to be fast.

"What happened Rebecca? Why did you ask me to come to the washroom urgently? Are you alright?" Julia's eyes turned worried while her face frowned.

Seeing her reaction, Rebecca instantly shook her head in denial and responded.

"No, it's not like that!"

"I'm fine Julia! but I need urgent help!" Rebecca looked at her with seriousness.

Hearing her, Julia's brows arched.

"What happened? Tell me!" She asked.

"Julia, I need a dress!"

"Dress?"

"Yes!"

"But why?" She asked.

"Because I need to attend the dinner conference with Mr.Edwin!" She explained.

Julia's eyes shone hearing new gossip.

"So, now you both are going on a date? Woah..!" She teasingly looked at her while chuckled hardly.

Rebecca rolled her eyes and tried to stop her.

"Julia, don't be dramatic!"

"You know it's not like that. I'm his personal Secretary and I must go with my boss!" Her words were calm while Julia found that funny.

"Alright, if you think so!" Julia's words made her forehead crease.

No matter how much she tried to explain Julia. She always turned blind to her words.

"Julia, I don't have any more time to protest with you! Can you please arrange a simple dress for me?" Rebecca's eyes looked at her friend with complete seriousness.

Julia shook her head slightly to see how boring her friend is when it comes to love or man.

"I have one dress on my locker! You can check on it!"

"It's better than our office attire to go to dinner!" Julia said while Rebecca lightly smiled.

"Thank you!" She hugged her while Julia chuckled and hugged her back.

After arranging her dress she called a serviceman who takes care of Edwin's daily attire and asked him to bring a fresh suit to Edwin's cabin for a dinner conference.

After arranging the things, she comes back to her cabin.

Her eyes moved on towards the glass wall but all she could see was herself. It was a one-sided glass wall. She can't see him but he could see her from his cabin that suddenly made her cheeks heat. But in these few weeks of work, she already understands he is a good man with a gentlemanly personality.

Without looking through glass, she could say he should be still busy with his work.

On the other side, Edwin is still focusing on his work. But he didn't forget to look after Rebecca in his free time.

As he looked at her through the glass, she was looking busy.

She was reading some papers which were scattered on her desk while her hand was holding a pen that was swinging in the meantime.

His eyes could not help but soften to see her like this. He truly admired her bravery to be a strong woman and mother for herself and their child. Even after knowing the cruel society who's going to judge her at every step. She decided to give birth. She decided to be a single mother.

The more he started to spend time with her, the more he felt, he started losing his patience to wait.

He wanted to tell her who he was and wanted to apologize to her. He wanted to share her burden with her and be with her beside her in this pregnancy time as her lover, as her companion, and as her child's father.
