Chapter 54: Chapter 54
"Jack master!! Thank you!!" The old man got tears in his eyes when Mr.Hutson offered to let him live in one of the mansions and also take care of it.
"Uncle Anderson! You are our loyal man, how can I let you suffer!" Mr.Hutson responded while looking at him with a warm smile.
"Thank you! Dear! Thank you so much!" He never thought. He will get help from them like this.
"It's alright and please don't cry anymore!" Mr.Hutson rested his hand on one side of his shoulder with concern.
The old man nodded while he wiped his tears with his arms' long sleeves.
"I should leave now!" The old man said while Mr.Hutson nodded and asked Mark to help him to go to the mansion which he described a few minutes ago.
Mark went out with an old man. In the corridor, the old man saw Rebecca and stopped.
Rebecca also noticed him with Mark and smiled.
"Thank you! Miss! Because of you, I can meet my master Jack!" The old man's eyes were too tender.
Rebecca's lips curled up warmly.
"It's alright! Sir! It's my duty!" Rebecca responded professionally.
She now completely turned into a new leaf. Before she was just gentle and beautiful but now she's also confident with her words.
"I'll always be grateful to you!" The old man said before leaving her with a warm smile.
Rebecca looked at his back and felt happy to see him smiling, not upset anymore.
"Sir, did you ask for me?" Rebecca got a call from Mr.Hutson to come into his cabin.
Mr.Hutson waiting for her. So, when she entered he asked her to take a seat first.
Rebecca did as he ordered.
"Rebecca, you did a great job today!" Mr.Hutson looked at her with a big smile.
"Sir, it's my duty!" Rebecca replied while she never thought her boss was going to invite her to tell this.
"He wanted to meet you and as your secretary, I just did my job to let him come here!" She added.
"No, it's not an easy thing! I heard what just happened on the ground floor! And I know with Uncle Anderson's poor appearance others employees treat him like beggars and also refuse to hear his words. But you didn't go for an appearance."
"You treated him just like other guests who come to meet me. You heard his words and believed him without thinking about the consequences. What if he's telling lies? What if his arrival makes me unhappy and I scold you? You didn't think about yourself but you chose that old person before your hard work. This is true human beings' nature and I appreciate this type of person! Like you Rebecca!" He pointed at her with a satisfied smile.
Rebecca felt astonished when she heard her boss's words.
She never thought his boss could read her mind and action this deeply. But this is what makes him boss? She thought and smiled.
"Rebecca dear, you are truly a great woman! I hope you will have more success in your life!" Mr.Hutson blessed her.
"Thank you, Sir!" Rebecca thanked him.
Mr.Hutson nodded in reply.
"Rebecca, I want to meet our ground floor receptionist!" Mr.Hutson's smiling face turned serious.
Rebecca knew very well why Mr.Hutson was asking about the receptionist.
"I'll call her now!" Rebecca said and left the cabin with a deep sigh.
A few times later, the Receptionist comes to meet Mr.Hutson in his cabin.
Her face was completely nervous. She already got news about the old man. President knew him and Mr.Mark personally sent the man in the car.
This news already made her lose face color. And when she got a call from Rebecca, she knew she made a big mistake in her career.
"Miss Dera, you have been working in this company for more than two years. But still, you don't know, we never disrespect our guests even if they don't match your standards." Mr. Hutson's cold words made the Receptionist lose her face.
"S...Sir.."
"I don't know that he's telling the truth!" Her voice turned, shaking with fear.
"Did you call my secretary for verification?" He asked while her head was down with shame.
"No!"
"You made a mistake Miss Dera! And in our company, we don't need these types of employees at all!" Mr.Hutson declared.
The Receptionist's eyes turned red while tears started streaming down.
"I'm sorry sir! I know, I made a mistake but I truly don't think that he is truly related to you by any chance!" She tried to justify herself and her actions.
Mr.Hutson calmly heard her and then responded, "Miss Dera, you are working for a big corporation! Do you think the way you handle the situation is great? Your action made our reputation in other eyes wrong!"
She clenched her fist while her body shivered with nervousness.
"I'm sorry, sir! I can apologize to that sir for sure! But please don't fire me from this job! My mom is suffering from the last stage of cancer! I need this job!" The hot tears rolled down her cheeks.
Mr.Hutson sighed to hear her words.
"Miss Dera, you also have old parents in your home but still you disrespect some other elder like this! Why did you do that in the first place? You can handle this situation many other ways but still, you try to be arrogant!"
She felt ashamed to hear those words and felt guilty.
"As this is your first mistake in your work, I'm not going to fire you. But because you made a big mistake you will be suspended for one month! I hope you can realize your mistake and not repeat it again." Mr.Hutson announced while the receptionist felt hopeful at least she's not fired from this job.
"I'm sorry sir for hurting many peoples with my actions and I promise to you I'll never judge someone because of their appearance again!" Her face turned serious.
Mr.Hutson lightly smiled and nodded with satisfaction.
"That's good! You can go now!"
The Receptionist nodded and thanked Mr.Hutson before leaving.
Mr.Hutson called Rebecca to come into his cabin and she came the next moment.
"Your idea worked! Rebecca!"
"Making her lose her job is not the right solution to make her realize her wrong action."
"Thank you, Sir! Taking my words as a suggestion!" Rebecca thanked him.
After calling the receptionist, she asked Mr.Hutson to not fire her and give her a second chance.
At first, Mr.Hutson didn't understand her meaning but when she gave the best idea to make the receptionist punished but also make her realize the mistakes at the same time without making her lose the job.
Mr.Hutson felt impressed and did the same. And to his surprise, he not only gave a good punishment but also made that receptionist realize her mistake at the same time.
Mr.Hutson truly admired Rebecca for her smartness and kindness. The way she handled everything today truly won his heart.
