The next morning

“Dad, What are you doing here this early morning?” Rebecca was stunned to see her dad at her door. They met just last night, so she doesn't understand what made him come this early morning again.

“My child, I come to take you home.” He responded with a bright smile while Rebecca walked inside and told him to get inside also.

“Dad, I already told you last night, I can not go back to that house.” It's not like she doesn't want to live with her Dad. But whenever she thinks about home, she remembers her stepmother and step-siblings.

Hearing his daughter's words, Mr Wilson walked to her and touched her head, “My child, I know why you are saying that. But I also came to inform you that I made those bullies leave that house and decided to take a divorce.”

Rebecca’s eyes winded, “What?”

“Yes, dear, I can not stay with those people who behave like monsters in people's skin.”

Rebecca could not believe her dad made such a big decision and felt guilty that finally what she didn't want was happening. However, she can not think, her Dad left him for her but somehow they also hurt him to hurt her.

“Dad, are you alright?” Her voice filled with concern.

Mr Wilson smiled, “I’m okay. I’m absolutely okay.”

“That’s good.” She smiled to comfort her dad but knew her dad was somehow deeply hurt.

“Dear, are you ready to go home with me now? We will start our life together again. I’ll resign from my job and find a new job here to take care of you and my grandson.”

Rebecca's eyes turned tender as she held his hands and softly responded, “Dad, I’m sorry. But I still can not go there for now.”

His eyes turned upset, “But why? Are you by any chance still angry with me?”

“No, Dad.”

“I can not be angry with you.”

“But, I’m still unable to convince myself to return to that house. But I promise, I'll come back when I feel, I can. Until then can you please come here to meet me?”

Mr Wilson's eyes filled with tears, “I can dear. I’ll do as you wish and wait for that day when you will be back home.”

“Thank you, Dad,” She hugged him happily.

“It’s alright, my child. I’ll not force you to do anything which you don’t want to.” He patted her back.

A few Days Later

Julia went to work when in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Hutson showed up at her house.

“I know, you are a little shocked to see us here suddenly without informing you in advance but when we come back from abroad and Edwin explains about everything which you faced in our absence in the city time, we both can not control ourselves but come and see you directly. If you are alright or not,” Mrs Hutson held Rebecca’s hand all the time saying that.

“That’s true, Rebecca, I hope you are not feeling uncomfortable because of us.” Mr Hutson added later with awkwardness.

Rebecca, who is sitting with them on the couch, starred both husband and wife and smiled warmly at last.

“Uncle-Aunt, I can only feel happy to see you both. It has been a long time. Please don’t say those words again.” Rebecca’s generous words made both of them nod and smile lightly.

“Dear, at first, the situation was different, we are ashamed to come in front of you after what our son did to you.” Mr Hutson helplessly sighed.

By their words, Rebecca could sense how much guts they needed to come here and talk to her.

“Rebecca, your Uncle is right, as a woman, I can never imagine how much your life will turn up and down because of our son’s negligence.” Mrs Hutson’s eyes filled with sorry.

Rebecca held Mrs Hutson’s hand and said in a gentle tone, “Aunt, I already forgot about the past and I want you to do the same. Edwin made a mistake and I punished him for that but now we both are on good terms and I forgave him for his past doing. We both now only wanted to see the future and I hope you both could smile to hear that.”

“Oh, dear!” Mrs Hutson hugged her while tears welled up in her eyes. Mr Hutson also felt emotional and could not help but wipe out tears coming from the corner.

“Our son told us, you already forgive him but we wanted to be sure. We are now glad, you are truly happy with your decision. But we still wanted to apologise on behalf of our son and not coming to you on time.”

“Aunt…” Rebecca was a little taken aback by her words.

“No Rebecca, You need to accept our apologies. This is all we want.” Mrs Hutson looked at her husband's side and then at Rebecca.

Rebecca first wanted to argue not to let them do that but seeing their serious expression, at last, she can only nod, “Alright, aunt. If you both want this, Then I accept that. But this is our last conversation about that. I hope you both never talk about those past days again or apologised. I’m your daughter's age. I never want to see you apologised again.”

“Thank you, Dear.” Mrs Hutson hugged her while Rebecca hugged her back.

“You are not like a daughter. You are our daughter, Rebecca.” Mr Hutson warmly smiled and said beside them.

Rebecca could not help but let her lips raise from one corner to another with a smile.
