Chapter 223: Chapter 223

A few Days Later

“Officer, Can you let me meet my son, now? Today I brought my lawyer with court papers.” Mrs. Wilson and Chole looked at the officer with cold stares as they were coming to the police station for the third time with the same request to meet Nick just for once. However, they were without a court permission letter, so they needed to go back without meeting him.

The Officer looked at the arrogant women and their lawyer with a straight expression before instructing blandly, “Submit these court papers to the left counter staff. He will take you to meet Nick after checking the papers.”

Mother-Daughter’s faces brightened with hope while the Lawyer went alone first to do the task and instructed both of them to wait right there for him.

“Mom, finally, we are going to meet bro!” Chole held her Mom's hand with happiness while her mother nodded with an emotional smile, “Yes, Dear, I missed my son so much.”

“Me too, mom,”

The officer listened to their conversation and could not help but tell them the rules related to this meeting.

“Mrs. Wilson, I know you and your daughter want to see Nick eagerly, But remember the meeting time is only 15 minutes, not more than that.”

“Just 15 minutes? It’s too little.” Mrs. Wilson’s face frowned while her tone turned harsh upon hearing that.

Officer looked at her with a dull look and said, “It’s not on us. This is the rule made by our government. If you feel it’s less, then go and get new permission for a long meeting.”

“That’s absurd. You first told us to get a lawyer with us and when we got one you asked us to bring a permission letter from the court to meet him. Now you are talking new nonsense with us. Are you doing all this to someone’s word? Aren’t you?” She yelled out in anger and frustration.

On the other side, Officer face scowled to hear her framing words and responded in a warning tone, “Mrs. Wilson, mind your language! Don’t forget you are standing in the police station and talking to the respective officer.”

Chole was scared to see the officer angry and tried to stop her mom, “Mom, Don’t say anything further.”

However, Mrs. Wilson did not stop, “Why would I not speak? I did not tell any lies. Don’t you see that also?” She turned to look at her daughter.

The officer could not take her words any longer and stood from his chair and banged his hands on the desk, “That’s enough! Mrs. Wilson, do you know, you could go to jail for using disrespectful words for a cop? I think you want to join your son? Aren’t you?” Officer’s face turned serious.

“You!” Mrs. Wilson's face turned ghastly to hear him and tried to talk back; however, before she could argue, Chole stopped her, “Mom!”

She grips her arm strongly and speaks in concern, “Mom, don’t talk back to him or else he will not let us meet Nick. Think about Brother.” Chole’s words, made Mrs. Wilson go silent even when she is burning with rage, while Chole turns to the officer and apologises for her mother's behaviour.

The Officer let them go with the last warning and a few seconds later the lawyer who had just finished with submission came to them, and reported they could now meet Nick.

.

.

The cop takes all of them to the meeting room which is divided by a glass wall inside.

When they entered it was empty. The cop instructed them to take a seat just in front of the wall glass where two chairs were already placed. While the other side’s chair is empty where Nick will sit just a few moments later. The other cop was already coming with him.

Soon enough the other side’s door opening sound attracts both mother and daughter’s attention.

They both were emotionally staring at the door but when he came in front of them. Their eyes winded with shock.

Nick was all covered in injuries while his face now is not more the same after breaking his nose bone. They also noticed his one leg did not look straight while the right side arm was plastered. He could not walk properly which they noticed as soon as he started to walk towards them and get closer to the glass.

“Mom…” Nick's eyes almost got tears to see his family while both women also got emotional and hurt to see him like this. They already guessed he was in hell all this time.

“Oh, my poor son!” Mrs. Wilson almost started sobbing.

“Brother!” Chole also started crying.

“Mom, Chole, You both finally come to take me. Please get me out. I don’t want to stay here. I can’t” He sounded mentally stressed while he was crying and devastated.

“Brother, who did this to you?” Chole tried to ask but Nick turned silent, as he was warned by the mafia gangs not to open his mouth or tell any truth if he didn't want to be in that hell phase again.

“Yes, Son, Tell me, what did these cops do to you? How dare they hit my poor son and make him look this devastated” Mrs. Wilson filled with anger.

“Mom, it all happened because of that bitch. If she does not file a case, brother’s condition will never go like this.” Chole gritted her teeth thinking about Rebecca.

“Yes, You are right. That bastard made my poor son’s this condition. She is the real criminal.” Mrs. Wilson’s eyes filled with hatred thinking about Rebecca and her rude tone towards them before leaving the hospital.

However, Nick no longer wanted anything to do with her. Now, he knew she got a powerful man on her back who was crazy and could do anything for her. He knew he was the real one who made his life this hell.

Thinking about all the trauma he got in that dark room, his body shuddered and he panicked and looked at his mother and sister to stop them from talking about revenge.

“No! No, Mom, You don’t need to do anything against her. Just try to release me, I can not stay here any longer. If I stay so long, I don’t know what I would do to myself.”

Mrs. Wilson's face was terrified to hear that, “No. Son, Don’t do anything to yourself, I promise your mother is going to get you out,” While Chole added, “Yes, Brother, just trust us, we will get you out from here. We also come with our lawyer who will try everything to get you out.”

Nick glanced at a lawyer who was sitting in the corner with a professional smile.

He looked back to his family and nodded.
