Next Day.

Doctor Cabin

“Mr. Hutson, The patient’s reports are good. Congratulations. Baby is safe and healthy,” The doctor informed Edwin while the reports were still in his hand, and he looked at him with a tiny smile.

Edwin closed his eyes for a moment to thank god and then looked at the doctor to ask if he could now meet her, “Doctor, last time you told us, if the report has come well, we can meet her.”

The doctor nodded in agreement, “Yes, you are right. Now, everything is fine, so she has no reason to stay in the observation ward. Once she opens her eyes, we will shift her normal ward.”

“Thank you, Doctor.” He stood from a chair while the doctor passed him Rebecca’s reports to take with him.

“And one more thing, Mr. Hutson,” Doctor added to watch him leave.

Edwin looked at him with calmness, “Yes, Doctor,”

The doctor fixed the glasses on his nose which slid lightly while he mentioned to him, “Mr. Hutson, reports are good but she is still weak to take any type of stress for now, so, try to do normal conversation and help her to forget the bad things.”

Edwin's expression turned firm with the realization the doctor's words were right.

“Stress is not good for her or her baby’s health and Ms. Wilson's body is going through so much stress and anxiety. I saw her reports and found her weight is so much less than a normal pregnant lady, when her friend informed me, she was following all her meals properly. It means she's been under so much stress these past days.”

Edwin's forehead lines showed up. As he never knew that.

“So, you need to be a more caring partner towards her in this pregnancy condition. You need to make her feel relaxed and enjoy her pregnancy day. Stressing can get her, risking her pregnancy.”

Hearing the doctor, he stayed silent for a moment before finally replying in a calm voice, “I’ll remember your words, Doctor. Thank you for sharing all these details.”

The doctor nodded lightly and he walked out of the cabin.

Edwin went to Rebecca’s ward where Sam and Julia were already sitting on the bench waiting for him to come with the report. All three spend the whole day in the hospital while at night Sam takes Julia after convincing home and as soon as the sun rises she takes a cab to come back to the hospital.

Hearing footsteps coming in their direction, Julia and Sam turned their heads to find Edwin. Sam stood from his bench while Julia just walked to him and asked impatiently, “Mr. Edwin, how’s the report? What doctor informed you?” Her concern for her friend did not hide in her tone.

Edwin looked at her firmly, before forwarding his hand to give her Rebecca's report and responded at last, “Report is fine. There is no danger.”

“Thank God,” Julia breathed out with relief, and so did Sam.

“But…” Edwin didn’t stop there which made Julia's brows arch in question and stayed silent to listen to his further words.

“Doctor informed me that Rebecca's health is poor and underweight. He advised w should not do any type of stressful conversations with her or in front of her and we that need to make a happy environment around her. Let her enjoy her pregnancy without stress until she delivers. So, Julia, I hope you understand what I mean.”

He glanced at her with seriousness. Because she is the only person on which he could rely for Rebecca’s health. He can see Julia is no less than a sister to Rebecca.

Another side, he knew, this is all his responsibility but he is not staying with Rebecca for the twenty-four four hours with her. In this situation, he depends on Julia mostly.

On the other side, Julia clearly understood what he meant and nodded while taking the report from his hand, “I got it. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of her double from now on.”

Edwin nodded and next moment mumbled roughly, “Thank you.”

Julia was taken aback by his sudden thanking response but still,l she managed to firmly reply, ‘Mr. Edwin, she is my bestie before your woman. So, you don’t need to thank me for this simple thing. And I can feel and see how much you love my friend and your unborn baby. So, I just wish you succeeded in winning her heart.”

Julia flashed a tiny smile at last while Edwin felt her words and nodded.

However, before the conversion moved further, the nurse came out from Rebecca's ward and all three looked in her direction.

While Edwin walked first to her and tried to inquire, “Sister, How is the patient?”

The nurse looked at him and smiled politely before informing him about Rebecca, “The patient just opened her eyes and now I'm going to get the doctor to check her.”

Edwin takes a relieved breath while Julia and Sam are also relieved to hear this great news.

“Sister, can we meet her?” Julia asked to go to her side.

The nurse nodded and said, “Yes, you can. But first, let the doctor check her.”

She nodded in understanding, “Alright.”
