Chapter 202: Chapter 202
Edwin turns and walks towards the elevator while Rebecca looks at his back until it vanishes inside the lift.
Her mind spins his tender words as she closes the door and walks towards the window to watch him go.
When she stands in front of the window and looks down from there, she saw him coming out from the building and walking towards the direction of his car.
He almost opens half the car door when he stops in mid and turns his head to look in her window direction from where she is watching him.
Suddenly, caught by his stares, she paused in her spot, her fingertips clenched on the curtain tightly, and her heartbeat almost stopped like she's quit breathing.
She can't let her eyes avoid his gas and they both stare at each other in silence without moving at all.
Until Edwin raised his hand in her direction and waved it to say bye.
Rebecca's eyelashes blinked and finally, she let go of her breath. To raise her hand in response slowly and wave it for him.
Edwin's straight lips shifted with an amazing smile while Rebecca shyly finally succeeded to retreat his stares.
He could not watch her reaction from this far but knew she was blushing there, so without making her shyer, he finally turned to open the car door and gave her a last look with a smile before stepping inside the car.
Rebecca bit her lower lips as she didn't understand why she was behaving so childish like this. Why did she feel shy and blush at every single small action?
One stare from him made her cheeks turn bright red, and today the way he flirted with her, she almost gulped her saliva with nervousness. Not the fear ones, but the mixed feeling when you like someone and could not know how to react in front of them.
She felt this same feeling before also for him, but now it's growing different where she can't get her reaction control or hide it from him. When she thought it would take her a long time to fall for him again. But now, she knew she was wrong. Deep inside her heart, the love again started growing. It will just take a few more movements to bloom out completely.
After watching his car go, she also moves from the window to walk towards her bedroom.
However, her mind played Edwin's words, while she, at last, glanced at the time on the wall clock and realized it was almost her cooking time. So, she changed her way from the bedroom to the kitchen.
"Smells good!" She inhaled the aroma with a delighted smile from the spatula before serving it on her plate and making her way to the dining table.
"Gosh, I missed Julia." She sighed watching herself alone at the dining table. And guessed if Julia would be here, she would do the happy dance for this creamy pasta meal. It's her all-time favourite just like her. When they escape a proper meal, this cheese pasta is everything for both of them as it contains only herbs and cream.
However, before she could take a bite from her meal, someone rang her main doorbell.
She put the spoon back and stand to walk towards the door.
When she opened the door, she saw the old lady who lives in her neighbour's apartment standing right in front of her door.
"Yes, Aunt."
"Is there anything you need?" She politely inquires.
The old lady awkwardly smiled while responding, "Dear, firstly, sorry to disturb you this late,"
To which, Rebecca shakes her head quickly in denial to show it's alright with her.
"No aunt, it's alright. You did not disturb me. Just tell me whatever you want." Rebecca asserted with a generous tone.
The old lady politely smiled and nodded.
"Actually, dear, I got some urgent papers from my lawyer yesterday. But I can't read that…Because of my low eyesight."
"And I also lost my last pair of glasses confidently. So, now I need your help."
"I need someone to explain to me the report tonight because tomorrow early morning I need to courier that paper to someone."
Rebecca understands her situation and shortly answered, "It's okay aunt, I'm not busy anyway. I can help you."
"Ohh, dear! Thank you so much!" The old lady's face lit up to hear her response.
"It's alright, aunt."
"You wait here. I need to bring the key to lock the door."
"What about Julia? Isn't she home?" The old lady asked a question.
To which, Rebecca responded, "No, she departed to meet her parents."
"Oh, that's good." The old lady nodded with a small smile.
While Rebecca smiled back and walked inside to take the key.
After locking the door she walks towards the old lady's apartment with her.
However, somehow suddenly she felt chilled on her back, like someone staring at her from corners. This feeling made her pause at her spot. As her body hair froze for a second without her knowing the reason.
"Why suddenly I'm feeling someone staring at me from somewhere?" She mumbled to herself before looking around in suspicion. But there is no one except her and the old lady. Seeing that she could only feel it was her illusion.
"What happened, dear? Why did you stop?" The old lady asked in curiosity. To watch her stop.
However, Rebecca shook her head in denial and flashed a fake smile, "Nothing. We should move."
The old lady didn't doubt and both walked inside her apartment.
After a short minute, when everything around looked calm, the hiding individual came out from the stairs.
His dull eyes stared at the old lady's door with rage. There is a deep anger inside the person's sights. Like he would destroy everything.
However, the next moment, his expression suddenly changes to fill up with a creepy smile which looks scary and darker.
He wore a jacket and hid his face with his cap.
"Darling, finally I meet you…" He murmurs that looking at the old lady's door, and chuckled evilly next later. However, he never walks towards the door but on the other side turns to walk down the stairs.
Like he just came to look after her for now. He is not planning to make a move.
