Chapter 175: Chapter 175
"Rebecca, you are thinking wrong…"
"I'm not blaming you. There is no blaming you out there. Because it's not your fault in the first place."
"Julia…" Rebecca's lips trembled to hold herself crying more.
"Listen, Rebecca, I'm telling the truth. It's not your fault. Never blame yourself for what happened last night…"
"You stayed there to help old people because they treat you rightly. You loved their care and that's why you just hope to bring a smile to their face last time before going back home. It's not the wrong choice."
"And in the first place how could you know that someone does that in the library? You almost work there but never have issues. And about the drunk guy, you are already prepared to resign from your work. What more can you do about that?"
Rebecca felt every single word was true. What she can do more to make herself safe from those greedy monsters who live in every single place.
"Rebecca, no matter where we women go, stay and live. We got everywhere those bastards who were always ready to chew us. They never left our sides until we fought with them."
"But sometimes things get out of our hands. We can't fight alone and need someone to defend us and at least be beside us. And for you, in your life, Edwin is that man…"
Rebecca felt someone showed her way.
"That man just proved how much he cares for you and your baby. So, I hope at least you thank him. Because if he is not there I can't imagine what those bastards could do with you and your baby." Julia almost shrugged to speak the last statement.
Julia's words dig into her heart to finally blow the hater's dirt from her heart to view things clearly…
Her anger is on one side while his protection is on another side. No matter how much she showed anger toward him she can't deny the fact he was always there whenever she needed help or almost felt like she couldn't do anything anymore.
"Rebecca, are you listening to me?" Julia raised her brows in doubt while Rebecca nodded and responded, "Yes, I'm…"
Julia could feel how cautious Rebecca is after going through many things. The dad whom she called 'Dad' never cared about her heart. The stepmother, she always tried her best to make her happy, just wanted her to stay miserable or almost die in hell. The step-sister, to whom she tried to be a great big sister, always tried to hurt her and almost shame her every time. The stepbrother, who should have protected her, turned out to be a great psycho. Finally, after trying to live alone, she found herself pregnant. The man left her after using her body. The man she falls in love with hides his identity.
How could she go like this if everyone only damages her heart? How could anyone blame her for not trusting anyone so easily?
It takes so much heart to forgive someone and she is already trying her best to live without hating someone.
But now Julia hoped she got out of her old past and tried to give it another chance to Edwin. She feels he is the only person who can change Rebecca's world. Make her feel lovable. That's why she said that.
"Rebecca, you should rest now and think about my words. While I informed the doctor and Edwin about your waking up."
Rebecca's eyes widened to hear he is in the hospital.
"Is he still here?"
Julia stood up from the chair and then glanced at her, "Yes, he never left the hospital in the first place. When I come here, he is already looking after you, sitting here."
Rebecca looked down at her hand feeling unsettled by this news.
"He only left the room when I came here. While he was outside sitting the whole night. In the hope for you to wake up just like me. I can sense he wanted to stay longer with you but chose to go outside feeling you will not like him…"
Rebecca raised her eyes to see Julia while she felt her heart tighten to learn the truth.
"Now, I'm leaving. You rest."
Rebecca nodded while Julia turned to walk out of the ward.
Rebecca let her tears finally cover her eyes as her hand clenched the clothes around her chest to feel so much pain right there.
Is she truly judging Edwin wrong?
Because no one can risk their lives to save someone again and again. When she asked him to let her go. He did it. He didn't show up. And when he comes back it's all for her safety. Because he cared about her and this child.
Can she forget his lies and hold new life?
Many thoughts caught her mind.
While Julia, after coming out from the ward, looked around to catch Edwin standing beside the door. Leaning on the wall.
"Mr.Edwin," She felt a little surprised to see him standing there but it also means that he already knew Rebecca is awake now and he should hear their conversation too.
Julia felt a little awkward for a moment while Edwin glanced at her without expression.
Julia didn't waste time telling the same news to him he already knows.
"I'm going to tell the doctor about her being conscious. If you want to see her you can go inside." Edwin looked at her in silence as there were no changes in his expression. Julia didn't stay to hear anything from him as a response and turned to walk towards the doctor's ward to get him for a check-up.
Edwin watched her go and then turned to finally look at Rebecca from the door's glass which is round and small but enough to look at her from afar without disturbing her or going inside.
In the morning when he looked inside he found both friends hugging each other while Rebecca got a tiny smile with tears. He was glad to see at least she got Julia as a friend with her who can support her in struggling times. When he is helpless to go beside her as she doesn't like to see him.
