Chapter 163: Chapter 163
"Dear, here is your salary." The old man put the envelope with the money in front of her.
"Uncle, I can't take this. I just worked a few days." Rebecca tried to deny him from taking that.
However, the old man shook his head to make her not refuse.
"No, you need to accept that. After you joined, we got some new customers and the old customers liked your work spirit so much. you deserve this."
"But…" She doubted taking it.
"Please take it, my child. It's your hard-working earnings. Don't ever refuse that."
Rebecca understood his words and finally raised her hand to take the envelope and looked at the old man with a warm smile.
"Thank you, uncle."
"It's alright." The old man flashes a big smile and adds, "Dear, before going back, meet my wife also. She will miss you more than me."
"I'll uncle." Rebecca asserted.
"You should be thinking about leaving now." He looked at the wristwatch.
"Let me drop you outside."
"Okay."
Rebecca nodded and stood from her chair while the old man slowly used the chair's arms to get the strength to stand back.
After walking out to the library the old man waved his hand.
"Bye, dear!"
To which Rebecca waved back to him.
"Bye, uncle."

Coffee Shop
Rebecca entered inside and glanced at the old lady who is busy cleaning the window glass.
She walked towards her and greeted her.
"Good morning, Aunt."
Hearing her voice, the old lady turned and looked at her.
"Oh Rebecca, What a pleasant surprise. Good morning, dear" She flashed a warm smile.
"You go there and seat. I'll bring the herbal tea for you. I just heard from someone it's good for the pregnant lady." She turned to walk towards the kitchen when Rebecca held her palm lightly and stopped her from going.
"Aunt…"
The old lady turned and looked at her.
"Yes, dear."
"Aunt, actually I can't sit, I just came here big a goodbye." Rebecca looked at the wet floor which was still not dry from wiping.
"What do you mean?" The old woman asked with a stunning face.
"Actually, I just resigned today from my library job…" She awkwardly replied.
"But why so?"
"Don't you like your work?"
Her question made her feel more upset. She loved to work here more than anywhere. But the situation can't help it.
She immediately denied her.
"No aunt. It's not like that."
"Then why leave?" She raised another question.
Rebecca sighed and only responded, "Aunt, uncle will tell you. I'm not ready to speak about it."
Her voice turned lower.
The old lady sighed and feel too upset to hear this sudden news.
But still, a gave her a concerned facial expression.
"It's alright. There should be a big reason."
"Let's not talk about that."
"Thank you, Aunt." Rebecca felt both husband and wife are so generous to her.
"However, you can't leave without trying my new special tea. At least spend tea time with me."
Rebecca could not get the courage to deny her.
"Alright." She smiled.
"Great and thank you for accepting my request."
The old lady walked towards the kitchen while Rebecca take a seat around the corner from where she can watch the library building from the window.
'I'll miss this place so much.' She mumbled to herself.
After a few minutes, the old lady came with two cups of tea on the tray and there was one plate containing some cookies on it.
"Here we go…" She placed the tray on the table.
Rebecca glanced at the trays and smiled slightly.
"You don't need to bring so much, aunt."
"How could I? I know you like my cookies so much. I watch you enjoying my cookies." She teasingly responded.
To which Rebecca chuckled and added, "It's not only me…I think the baby likes it very much."
Hearing her, the lady laughed with her.
"Then I'll prepare one box for you to eat daily."
"What do you say?"
"I loved your idea, aunt." Rebecca's response made her smile wider.
"You mean, you will come to meet us?"
"Yes, I'll."
"Great." She clapped her hand while Rebecca chuckled.
"Here, drink the tea…" She slides the cup towards her.
"Thank you." She picks up the cup and blows on it to take a small sip from it.
"How is it? Did you like the taste?" The lady asked with curious eyes.
"The taste is truly incredible," Rebecca answered.
"Glad, you like it…"
"By the way, Dear, what are you starting outside when I was not here?"
Rebecca glanced at her and replied softly, "Nothing else, but the library. From this seat, I can watch the building." After explaining she gave a tiny smile to her.
The lady looked at the window and then at her.
"Rebecca, just like you, the last day a young gentleman man came here and spent the whole day drinking coffee and sitting just in your place. He is also staring at the library and when I asked him who was there. He just told me a family."
Rebecca paused and put the cup back on the table.
"The gentleman?" Like she already guesses, she is talking about Edwin.
"Yes, he is a very handsome and polite guy. With his appearance, he looked rich and never belonged to this type of area."
Rebecca only awkwardly smiled.
"So, did he tell you his name?"
"No, he just told me. He is a businessman. But I was amazed to watch him never leave his seat until the library was almost closed…"
Rebecca just nodded.
"But I swear, whoever the person is, she is so lucky…" She declared.
Rebecca felt stunned to hear 'She' from her.
"Aunt, how can you guess the person is a woman?"
The lady smiled to hear her question and soon replied, "Because…The way that guy looked at the library. Trust me, it's different… His eyes I watched sometimes bright like stares while sometimes turned upset. His expression could hide his feelings but not his eyes. I wish I could watch the lucky girl. But I was busy making cookies. And by the way, he tasted the cookies and loved it."
Rebecca felt her heart thump to hear this all. She looks back to the window and stares at the library door.
He should be happy whenever he watches her coming out of the door and feels upset when she doesn't come out for a long time.
She soon remembered the past happy moments with him…Their dance, his confession, their first kiss.
"Hey, are you here?" The lady tapped her shoulder.
She abruptly went back to reality and looked back at her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just lost for a second."
The lady nodded.
