Sam thought it was going to take time for Edwin to come back as he guessed many fight scenes between Rebecca and Edwin.
However, when he noticed Edwin coming just half an hour, he felt speechless and got many questions inside him. And the more important question he got. Why is Edwin alone and where is Rebecca?
Didn't they meet? Or she asked him to go after the fight, that's why his boss is here!
Edwin almost comes out of the narrow way when Sam ignores his all thoughts, gets out of the car, and opens the back door for him.
Edwin silently gets into the car and put the books beside him.
Sam noticed his boss' expression but it did not look bad. Not like when he walks with him.
Does that mean they both didn't fight? He is assuming all the possibilities.
"Sam, are you going to stand there and dream of opening your eyes?" Edwin glared at him.
Hearing his words, Sam gets back to his senses and then realizes that he is still standing gripping the car door, without closing.
"Ohh, I'm sorry, Boss!" He halts answers and closes the back door. Before moving back soon to his driver's seat and wearing the seat belt.
He started driving slowly and tried to not ask Edwin any questions. However, he couldn't control himself for a long time and finally blurted out.
"Boss, you come back faster. What about Miss Rebecca?" Sam glanced at the front mirror to watch Edwin who was looking at the view outside the window in silence.
For a long minute, when he didn't get a reply from him then Sam tried to avoid asking another question.
But Edwin next moment responded to him without moving his gaze at all.
"She's already gotten off work. As the owner informed me. But you need to confirm that she's safely arrived home." This time he finally moved his gaze to watch him from the mirror.
While Sam nodded to his instruction and said, "Yes, Boss."

"You came back early!" Julia flashed a big smile to see her friend enter the house.
Rebecca smiled back and threw the same question at her, "And are not you?" It means she's also earlier like her.
Julia moved toward her and responded, "Yeah, we did a good performance this month. So, our project leader gave all the staff a party under him. They should be partying right now."
"Then what about you?" Rebecca curiously inquired.
"I?"
"I just want to sleep. I'm not in the mood to party. So, I just use the party time to be home and enjoy my beauty sleep…" She used her palms to press together and put her head leaned on it to show her sleeping gesture.
Rebecca chuckled at her phrases and nodded saying, "Good for you."
She walks towards the small table and places the handbag on it.
Julia looked at her and crossed her arms.
"Rebecca, you still didn't tell your side story. How did you come early today?"
Rebecca turned and answered, "There are no customers. So, the owner told me to go home."
Julia nodded.
"Julia, I'm going to freshen up then let's cook together." Rebecca moved toward her room and declared.
"Alright," Julia responded to her and went back to sit on the couch comfortably.
However, before her hip could touch the fabric her phone rang loudly and she stood next second.
When she checks on her phone Sam's name pops on her screen.
"Sam"
Her lips curled up as she pressed the answer button soon to respond.
"Hello, Sam," Julia's voice didn't hide her excitement.
"Hi, Julia…"
"So, how are you?" He interrogated from another side.
"I'm good but why are you sounding so formal and your voice doesn't sound normal like always? Is everything okay?" Julia noticed his change in tone.
While on the other side, finally, Sam's changing voice reason shows.
He is on the chair while Edwin watches him straight sitting on the couch. His eyes looked serious on him while his fingers were crossed together and his chin resting on them…
Sam knows Edwin is not in a joking mood. And he wanted to know if Rebecca is there or not right now. So, when they arrived Edwin was home. He asked Sam to sit in front of him and call.
"Y-Yeah!"
"Everything is fine."
Julia relaxed.
"I-I just call to know, what are you doing right now?" He tried to sound chill.
While Julia soon responded, "Not anything. Just planning to watch tv for now."
"Ohh I see…so, are you going to watch alone?"
Sam tried to find his answer by questioning that.
However, Julia's brows arched as she first for a second, don't understand why he asking that but when she give it some thought, she pressed her mouth with a gasp not to let him hear that.
'Is he going to ask for a date?' She shouted inside her brain and could not help but get excited.
"Julia, you didn't answer?"
Sam's voice gets her back from her imaginary world and responds to him, "Ah…No…Rebecca is with me. But why did you ask that?" She started playing with her hair. And smiled crazily. As she's waiting to hear his response. Just like her imagination.
While on the other side, hearing her Sam finally smiled and breathed in relief. However, before he could answer Edwin, he needed to put down the phone.
"Nothing, I just asked casually. As I'm still in the office doing heavy stuff."
Julia's excited face fell down to hear his response.
"Julia, I'm sorry but let's talk tomorrow. I need to go now." Before even Julia could respond to him, he disconnected the call.
While Julia on the other side looked at the black screen with disappointed eyes and sighed helplessly.
However, Sam breathed in relief to cut the call and looked at Edwin with a big smile.
"Boss, Ms.Rebecca is with Julia in the house "
Hearing him, Edwin finally lost his seriousness and nodded before standing up and opening his suit jacket button.
"Now, you can go back to your home, Sam," Sam finally got his favorite order from Edwin. Stop working and go home.
"Thank you, Boss, you also have a rest. Good night to you." Speaking that, he turned to walk away from the door.
Edwin glanced at Sam and when he vanished from his room.
And he left all alone. He closed his eyes and comfortably adjusted his back to touch the comfortable soft couch fabric.
He paused and whispered Rebecca's name between his slow breathing.
