Chapter 147: Chapter 147

After witnessing the alcohol things, Edwin made up his mind too strong to not let Rebecca work here. Even if he needs to go against her will for that... Even if she hates him more for being arrogant.

But he can't just stay in peace out there when she is working here. In this trashy place.

This is a dangerous area and he can't let her disobey him, in this matter. Because this is not only a matter for Rebecca but his child's safety also. He loved both of them with his life.

"Boss, are you angry?" Sam awkwardly raises a question even when he could see his unpleasant expression all the walk.

However, Edwin didn't respond to him. He just ignored his words and ordered, "Just walk faster and show me that damn library."

His voice turned rough and hectic. The impatience could be detected by his expression.

"Yes, Boss. It's just a minute away." Sam awkwardly responded. To which Edwin arched his brows and replied in an urgent tone, "It should be…"

His voice almost gave him a warning.

Sam gulped his saliva and nodded before making speed faster for a walk.

Edwin silently follows him.

Just like Sam's words, The library soon showed up. And both of them stop in a way.

Sam turned and informed Edwin, "Boss, this is the one." He raised his finger on the place.

Edwin followed his hand and looked at the old library store which is not even big from his office cabin and looked too old for the workplace.

"This is the place where Ms.Rebecca is working nowadays," Sam added.

Edwin takes a few steps closer to the library and raises his head to read the book store's name which is written in old handwriting design in bold words.

Seeing Edwin silent for a long time, Sam raised a new question.

"Boss, we are already here. As you want. But what now?"

Edwin used one hand to go inside his jacket pocket and he turned to look at Sam.

"You go and wait for me in the car. I'll meet Rebecca, by myself." Edwin's straight words made Sam a little hesitate for a minute but soon he nodded to him.

"Alright, Boss." Sam turned and walked back to the way from where they had just come inside.

After Sam left, Edwin glanced at the old store with a calm gaze and stood there pausing for a long minute before moving his gaze around. However, only a very few people showed up walking around. Even when it's still evening.

After checking on the surroundings. He made up his mind to go inside the library and shortly step towards it.

When he entered inside the first thing he sensed was the smell, the strong smell that hit his nostrils.

There was an old book smell all over the library while his eyes roamed around to be sure there is not a single customer inside there and everything was too silent. And this made his will more storing for his decision to make Rebecca stop working here. When he was staring at everything.

On the other side, because the door is old and the library is quiet, the sound of the opening door cracking could be easily heard by the owner who is in his cabin still busy reading.

He soon came out of the cabin and looked at the door only to find the young handsome man in an expensive suit standing at his door. And he noticed that he was checking on his library with deep eyes from a standing place.

Seeing a person like him coming here and checking the old library is just not normal and very exceptional in this small area. So, with a curious mind, he slowly walked toward him and tried to attract his attention.

"Excuse me, Sir. Are you looking for something?" He politely asks Edwin.

Hearing the old male voice coming from the right direction, Edwin turned to his right and saw the old man in his 60s standing in front of him with a polite smile. He glanced at him up and down to notice he was wearing a casual shirt and pants.

"Yeah, I came to find something," Edwin replied. As his eyes are still checking everywhere to get a glimpse of Rebecca by any chance. Even he won't make a mind if she's here or not. As the library is empty right now. But it's not too late to go back home. So, he could only ask the old man, his second question.

While on the other hand, learning he was a customer. The old man continued talking.

"Yes, sir, then what genres are you looking for? If you want any single genres or more?" Edwin gazes back at the owner.

"We got many books here. So, if you speak the book name or author name. I'll try to find it for you."

As soon as the old man completed his words, Edwin's brows turned twisted as he found that the owner got the wrong assumption because of his not rectifying his words for what he is saying 'Yes'.

"Sorry Sir, but you got me wrong. I'm not here for books. I'm here to look for a person." Edwin corrected his words.

The old man understood and nodded, "Ohh then, whom are you looking for here?"

Edwin finally got his main question.

"Sir, I'm looking for a young lady who works in your library. Her name is Rebecca Wilson."

The old man didn't first look at him carefully but heard Rebecca's name from his mouth. He glanced at him carefully from up to down and learned he is just a rich man and doesn't look in any way like he is a bad person.

"Yes, Sir, She is my new employee." The old man flashes a small smile and adds, "But may I know what you need from her? Are you her family or friend?"

This time Edwin paused for a moment before finally nodding to him.

"Yes, where is she now?" His eyes again moved around before landing on an old man with a questioning gaze.

The old man feels something is odd with Edwin but still, he didn't find him a bad person and with that, he honestly responded at last, "Sir, she's gone home back. As there are no more customers to handle."

"Alright, thank you for answering." Edwin thanked him while the old man flashed the same happy smile again.

Watching the owner's generous behavior, he felt a little pleased. But it's not going to change his mind.
