Chapter 139: Chapter 139

In The Cafe, Julia and Sam silently sit at one of the middle tables. Where Sam looked excited even though he tried to be calm, his eyes shining which can't be hidden by any chance.

Julia on the other side was just silent and looked calm.

"Thank you for meeting me here." Sam started the conversation. While Julia just gave an awkward smile with a heavy heart.

"Julia did you…" Sam's voice felt a little shy as he wanted to ask about her thoughts about his confession.

"I mean…what do you think about us?" He finished his words as his eyes stared at her with a hopeful smile.

Watching him happy, Julia felt uneasy as she didn't understand how to put her words in one go…

She was struggling to speak up when Sam noticed her struggle.

"Julia, is there something wrong?" He couldn't help but raise a question the next second to her.

Julia bit her lower lips lightly as her fingers rubbed each other. Feels hard, to tell the truth.

Sam felt serious as even after his asking she didn't speak at all and felt a little lost.

His mind soon calculated something in his mind on this situation and he asked the next moment to her in a straightforward, "Julia, is there any way you don't feel the same as I feel for you?"

Listening to his words, Julia froze in her place as she raised her head the next moment in shocked gaze.

Sam felt numb to see her reaction and visualized that she didn't like him.

Thinking that he shortly added to his words, "If it's like that, you can still tell me. I'm not going to force you, Julia." His voice turned lower as his eyes lost their shine.

Julia felt pain about his reaction and the following moment said while shaking her head in denial, "No, Sam, It's like that…you are thinking wrong."

"So, it means?" Sam hesitates this time.

However, Julia responded, "I like you, Sam, even before you do…"

Sam's eyes enlarged with her confession. While his sad lips raised with sudden happiness.

"Julia, so…Are you accepting my confession?"

"No."

Julia's response amazed Sam. He doesn't understand what she means by all the words in the last phrase. When she already confessed she liked him. Her rejection felt unreal to him.

"Julia, can I ask you a reason?" His voice turned serious and lower.

Julia moved her gaze from him and looked at her hand. She can't look into his eyes for a long moment. It makes her feel, that she's the villain.

"Sam, I like you, but for now, I can't accept your love proposal. If you look through the past few day's incidents then you will realize why I'm not accepting your proposal right now…" Sam suddenly realized what she meant and thought about it in his mind.

"We both like each other's company. But for trust…We are still far from each other. We still don't know anything about each other except our family background. We still don't cross our comfort zone to know more." Julia's every word made Sam agree with her.

"That's why Sam, I want us to be friends for now. Even though we like each other, love is hard for me to accept in one go…I don't want to get hurt and take this decision lightly. Relationships come with responsibility and I don't think we still fit for that and my doubt and our fight made it clear the last time…"

"First we need to start trusting each other without any doubt…we need to create the bonding which we can share in the future. If everything goes well…we can hope our future will be better but if things don't work we can stay just friends without hurting each other…"

Julia's words made Sam think differently about their relationship. For him, Yeah, she's telling the truth. He is a fool not to think like that and brag about his love like this. But if he doesn't do that, how will she think like this and give him a solution also?

Sam takes a long deep breath before starting to speak up.

"Julia, I understand every single word of you, and now I feel. You are truly a great woman and I'm now more encouraged to make you mine…" Julia's face flushed.

"I'll work hard to get your trust. So, next time, when I confess this feeling you all say 'Yes' to me."

Julia's eyes look at his face which is now smiling looking at her.

"So, it means. You are ready to be friends for now."

"Yes, because if you don't like me. I don't think I'll get that chance either. So, I appreciate that you give me one chance to stay in your life."

He smiled at last and Julia's lips finally curled up with gladness.

.

.

When Julia opened the main door, she found Rebecca sitting on the couch and reading a book.

"Rebecca?"

Hearing Julia's voice coming from her back, she turned and looked at her with a bright smile.

"Julia, you're back." She put the book on the table.

Julia walked towards a single couch and stared at her with confusion.

"Rebecca, I told you. I'm going too late then why are you waiting for me here?"

Rebecca smiled and responded, "Yes, I know. But I want to share the good news with you. And I can't wait till next morning."

Julia blinked her eyes and asked later, "What good news?"

"I got the job."

Julia's mouth half opened with surprise. As soon her lips curled up.

"Oh my God!"

"What? But how?"

"I mean congratulations babe." She stood and went to hug her.

Rebecca hugged her back. After that Julia went to her seat again. As she threw some questions with a surprised expression.

"But how did you get the job? I mean when did you start searching for it? And why don't I know about it?"

"It happened suddenly, Julia," Rebecca replied.

"After you went to the office. I just thought of searching for Job. So, I started scanning for companies, restaurants, and libraries where job vacancies are going on."

"Whan, I was approached by one library owner who told me today is the last day of the interview and they still didn't hire anyone. I didn't think anything and thought to go and try out. And to my surprise, I got selected by him. And he told me I can join the work after this week."

"Babes, that's incredible. You got the job in one day. But what about salary?"

"It's not high but enough for me and my baby to survive." Rebecca's words made Julia smile satisfied.

"That's my strong friend!" Julia blurted out while Rebecca laughed at her words.

"Julia, how about you? Is office work done?" Rebecca asked.

Julia bit her lower lips and speak in a lower tone, "Rebecca, I want to share something with you."

Rebecca nodded while Julia started her talk, "Rebecca, I'm not late, because there was work in the office. I lied to you about that."

Rebecca felt serious.

"Then, what is the main reason?"

"Actually, babe…"

"Sam last night confessed to me."

Rebecca's eyes widened with surprise.

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you last night because everything happens too suddenly and I was so confused about his proposal."

Rebecca listens to her and shakes her head, "Julia, it's alright. I'm not angry. But what did you respond to him? Are you both now dating?"

"No. I rejected him. I just coming after meeting him." Julia's words made Rebecca amazed.

Rebecca knew her friend like Sam then why did she reject him? This question took her mind.

"Julia, but why? Why did you not accept his proposal? You like him. Isn't it?" She inquired.

Julia sighed helplessly and speak about how she still got trust issues with him and she was not completely sure to date him for now…

"So, what did he tell you after listening to your words?" Rebecca asked.

"He told me, he will first try to make me trust him completely. Until then we are just going to be friends. If it works out, we can go further. If not we can just be friends."

Rebecca agrees with Sam's words told to Julia.

"Sam is a great guy. I hope you both can be together in the future."

Julia felt shy and thanked her for the next moment, "Thank you, babes, for understanding our relationship this much."

"Julia, I know, you not only do this for trust issues with Sam but for me also." Hearing her Julia bit her lower lips.

"How did you know?" Julia asked with little taken back to her words.

Rebecca warmly smiled and added, "I know you because we both can read each other souls. You are not only my friend but my sister and family to me. And family knew each other very well…"

Julia looks down to floor.

Rebecca sighed and held her hand.

"Julia looked at me."

Julia did that. While Rebecca continues her words.

"You promise me, no matter what happens between me and Edwin. You will not let that affect your relationship with Sam."

"Even it's friendship for now, but I know, the way you both are solving your issues. You will be a great couple in the future."

Hearing Rebecca, Julia's eyes filled with tears as she nodded to her.

"Thank you, babes." She could not help but approved her to hug again.

Rebecca welcomed her and they both stay in a warm hug for a long minute before breaking up.
