Chapter 137: Chapter 137
Hearing the doorbell, Rebecca soon walks towards it and unlocks the door. As it's Julia coming time from the office.
When she opened the door, Julia was there outside and stared at her with a fake smile.
"Hey!" She cheered and entered the house.
Rebecca was waiting for her arrival the whole day, as she wanted to ask about the letter.
However, she noticed something was off with Julia. Even though she looks alright. There is something that makes her feel like that.
When she saw Julia sitting on the couch tiredly, she walked toward there and thought to ask her directly.
"Julia is everything alright? Did something happen again in the office?"
Rebecca's words made her remember the kiss which she shared with Sam.
Seeing her lost in thought, Rebecca sits beside her and touches her shoulder to make her come back to her senses.
"Julia?"
"Huh?" Julia halted for a moment.
"What happened? Why are you acting out of space? Did you fight with Edwin…or Sam?" Rebecca could only think about this thing. As last time, Julia fought with Edwin.
Hearing her Julia bit her lower lips lightly as she thought inside her mind, should she share Sam's confession thing?
No. It's not the right time. She first needs to report the letter rejection.
"Julia, I'm still waiting. What just happened?" Rebecca's brows deepen because Julia's silence gives her a hard time thinking directly.
Julia looked at her and finally answered with a hesitant voice, "Rebecca, Mr.Edwin refuses to accept your resignation letter."
Hearing that, Rebecca froze for a second. And watching her Julia held her hand with a concerned face.
"Rebecca, don't worry. We will apply again. He can't make you stay there."
Julia's words made Rebecca look at her with a fake small smile as she answered back, "I know…and I'm not going to give up..."
Julia's lips raised with a tiny smile as she sighed in relief to see Rebecca taking this news strongly.
"So, Julia, why didn't he accept my resignation letter? Is he given any reason?" Rebecca knew correctly Edwin can't just deny her letter without any rules or facts. At least she knew that, working with him for the last few months.
Julia sighed deeply before answering her, "Yes, he gave me a damn rules list. First, you need to apply one month before the actual date, and second, before one year of completion, you can't apply for resignation. Lastly, if you need to leave, you should better come and talk to him directly… What a headache!" Julia showed a frustrated expression when she completed her words.
Listening to all that, Rebecca felt now it was getting hard on her. For one month before applying alright. But the last two choices she can't choose anymore.
And Edwin is trying to trick her with these rules. He just wanted her not to leave. However, she will not give up. If meeting with him last time, giving her full freedom, she will think to do that. But for now, she just needs to stay in the house.
After thinking about all that, she asked the last question, "Julia, as he refused my letter, do I need to go office?"
Julia soon remembers Edwin's 'Holiday' word and shakes her head in denial, "No. He gave you a holiday. You can be home. Until you want to go back and talk about leaving."
Rebecca just nodded hearing her in little relief.
It's not like she is scared to go in front of him but she is just not ready to face him for now. Her emotions right now need to be controlled because she doesn't want to cry or look miserable anyway in front of him.
She doesn't want to show that his actions and words affect her by any chance.
"Rebecca, I need to go and freshen up. I feel a little tired today." Julia's words captured her attention.
"Alright, you go. Until then I'll warm up the food."
Julia nodded and stood up from the couch to go direct her room and locked it from inside in one push before taking a long breath.
She closed her eyes and thought about the kiss thing and Sam's confession.
She was too uneasy about what just happened between her and Sam.
It's not like she doesn't want that, but she is confused about herself and their new relationship.
Yes, she liked Sam but the situation gave her doubt.
She doesn't think she would decide about herself and happiness when her friend is going through so much pain and depression. And the man she liked helped her friend's sinner.
"Why the hell did you confess right now?" She mumbled as her back leaned on the door with a helpless feeling.
On the other side, Sam looked at the tall building with a deep stare as he got nothing to see then that…
After Julia left, he felt he had done wrong and soon, made his way to her home. But like his boss, he also stood with his car outside in silence without approaching her building.
"I'm sorry, Julia…" He mumbled between heavy breaths. While he finally stared at his mobile and thought to apologize to her.
'I'm sorry, Julia, to scare you with my actions. But whatever I confessed is true and I hope you will think about it.'' After typing that he shortly pressed the send button.
He waited patiently to get a reply but there was nothing even after a long wait, nothing…
He looked at her apartment light is still on and he could only sigh and felt anger at himself for doing something silly in this hard situation.
'I'll talk to her tomorrow.' Thinking that he finally drove his car home.
.
.
After taking a shower, Julia felt greatly relieved. She went to her bed and seat on it when her phone beeped sound attracted her attention and she shortly picked up the phone from the bed to check on it.
When she read Sam's name showing on the sender list.
Her hand shuddered lightly as she bit her lower lips feeling confused and angry.
However, when she finally presses the message to read it.
Her heart softened for the next second. Her outrage vanishes in a moment.
She read it and felt it.
She can't be mad at him just because he likes her and when she also has the same feeling for him.
Thinking that she suddenly remembers Rebecca's suggestion. 'Love does not come every time.'
But what made her doubt if it was the right time?
She was confused about it.
"I need to speak to him...before I talk about this to Rebecca…" She murmured to herself with a helpless breath.
