Chapter 136: Chapter 136
"Boss is making the wrong decision. What if this decision makes Miss Rebecca dislike the boss more?" Sam mumbled out as he looked at the envelope with a deep sighing expression.
While adding at last, "I'll talk to Julia after the work time will be over."
Making up his mind, he went to his cabin.
.
.
In The Evening
"Julia, before leaving work, meet me in my cabin," Sam instructed her while she replied, "Alright."
After ten minutes later Sam heard a knock on his door.
He knew Julia was here. So, he immediately asked her to come inside.
Julia opens the door and stares at Sam who is already staring at her.
When she reached his table, he asked her to sit and Julia did that while asking a question, "Mr.Sam, why did you ask for me? "
Sam, a little hesitant, stood up from his seat and went to open the side drawer.
Julia silently watched him when he turned back to his seat back, her eyes could see his hand carrying the envelope which she sent this morning.
She was confused about why this letter was still with Sam when she noticed one more thing about the envelope. It was ripped from one corner side, which made her sure the letter was read.
Now she hopes it's done.
Sam takes a seat back and puts the envelope in front of her.
Julia arched her brows as she moved her eyes from the envelope to Sam.
"Mr.Sam, what does it mean?" She asked as she didn't understand why he was giving her that.
Seeing her confused expression Sam felt hesitant to tell her that Edwin didn't accept the letter. But as this is his duty to say it directly, he next moment adjusts his thought and speaks out in a professional tone, "Miss Julia, boss, refuses to accept this resignation letter."
Listening to this, Her body automatically stood from the chair as her hand stomped on the table with shock, "What? What do you mean he didn't accept it? Isn't he done enough to make her cry? Why didn't he let her go now?"
Julia thought Edwin will be ready to let her go after Rebecca's detection. But the way he acts. She felt anger.
Sam's lips are tightly sealed to her words as he doesn't know how to answer her.
"What? Are you not going to answer?" Her voice turned mocking.
Sam's hand clenched as he spoke up next, "Miss Julia, I can't do anything here. This is the boss's final decision." Hearing him, Julia chuckled angrily.
"Yeah, I know, you are soul brothers. How could you not side with him and his doing?" Her words turned rough while Sam could only hear her with a helpless heart.
"Alright, if this is Mr.Edwin decided. Then I'll talk to him on my own." Announcing that Julia takes the envelope and leaves his cabin with a hard bang while opening the door.
Sam watched her going and took a hard breath before he losses his tie a little from his neck.
"I need to stop her,"
Sam murmured seriously. As he doesn't want Edwin to throw his anger at Julia by any chance.
And the way Julia just dismisses them, he gets a wrong feeling deep inside him.
Edwin was looking at Rebecca's photo on his phone when Julia's sudden opening of the door without his permission disturbed his hush.
He stared at Julia who just walked inside while he didn't miss the envelope which she carried with her.
"Mr.Edwin, What the hell do you think you are?" She walked in the storm at speed and put the envelope on his table with a big thump.
Edwin stared at her with arched brows as he remembers to listen to her last time in silence but he will not be humiliated all the time.
"Miss Julia, don't forget I'm still your boss. You should know how to knock on my door." His voice was serious and the aura around him felt darker.
Julia felt a little chill to hear his words but it didn't stop her from still not speaking for her friend.
"I'm sorry to come inside without permission, Boss!" There is no politeness in her words.
"But can I ask you why you rejected Rebecca's resignation letter? Do you still have the right to stop her after what you did to her?" She blurted out with rage.
Edwin heard her silently as he finally replied with a rough tone, "Miss Julia, even you are a friend of Rebecca. You better know your place, you just can't get between us all the time. And last, don't forget our company got some conditions before staff applied for a resignation letter. The letter should be applied one month before the actual date of leaving. And second, the staff needs to come on him/her own. If they wanted to leave. So, you better clear yourself. I'll not go to accept the letter."
Listening to him, Julia greeted her teeth as he is using the office rule to bound Rebecca with him.
"I hope you got your answer. Now leave and close the door perfectly." Julia felt speechless in front of him and angrily turned to leave.
"Just take the envelope with you," Edwin ordered while Julia turned and approached the table again to take the envelope with her.
But when she takes it in her hand, Edwin added, "As I'm not going to accept the letter. Told Rebecca, I'm giving her holidays. She can join whenever she wants again." His words made Julia almost stunned. She doesn't understand why suddenly he reacts coldly. He didn't behave like this when he came to her apartment to meet Rebecca.
"Now, you can go." He orders again while Julia just turns back to leave his cabin.
When she went to the elevator with a rage expression to press the button.
The elevator door opened and Sam showed up.
She glared at him before entering the elevator. She was for him to go out but he didn't leave seeing that, she looked at his side and yelled, "What?"
"Why don't you leave the lift?"
Sam pressed the down arrow button and looked at her side, "I wanted to talk with you, Julia…"
Julia's face frowned, "But I don't want to."
"There is no choice for you. I want you to listen to me first and then be angry."
Julia could only glare at him as he didn't let her go and finally took her in his car.
They both sit there silently for a long minute.
When Julia could not take his silent treatment more and raised her voice, "What? Are you going to talk or, I just leave?"
Sam finally meets her eyes and without any thinking just leaned to her seat and moved his hand faster to her back head to pull her closer and pressed his lips on her.
Julia's eyes widened with shock as she froze in her seat for a long minute when Sam tried to open her mouth and get his tongue inside her mouth.
Julia's complete body was electrified by his heated action but she didn't let herself be drawn to it and pushed him with her whole might using both hands.
And yelled angrily, "What the hell are you doing, Sam? Are you out of your mind?"
Sam stared at her in silence while his eyes were always on her.
"I can't take your shit anymore, I'm leaving." Julia completely turned red with anger and didn't like his misbehavior.
She next later opened the car door and was ready to leave him. When he got out of the car and followed her.
"Julia!" He held her wrist and stopped her from leaving.
Julia glared at him with a sharp gaze.
"Leave my hand, Sam!" She yelled angrily.
Sam's hand grip tightened on her wrist as he declared, "No, I can't…You need to listen to my words before you leave."
Julia felt she wanted to crush this man.
"But, I don't." She used her free hand to release her wrist from him.
Sam silently lets her do whatever she wants because he is not ready to make her leave.
His grip never loosened.
Julia felt so frustrated when she couldn't even move her wrist slightly from his grip. After using both hands.
She looked at him and blurted out, "Why the fucking you are doing this?"
She gritted her teeth.
Sam, who was silent all the time on her action, finally approached her and went closer to her, leaving the gap only a few inches between them.
Julia's eyelashes flicker when she notices him suddenly too close to her.
"W-What are you doing?" Her voice turned hesitant. As she tried to avoid his massive stare on her.
Sam saw her reaction before finally loosening his grip on her and letting her hand free.
Julia saw her hand finally free and felt relief but she couldn't move inches from him, the way his eyes looked at her. She felt something making her freeze there.
And soon after, Sam opened his mouth to confess to her, "Julia, I can't let you go, because I like you…"
Her heartbeat thumped to hear him. Her lips parted slightly as her eyes tried to look at his eyes with disbelief.
"I like you a lot, Julia…and I don't want you to lose…" She shrugs to hear his words.
"I know, many things have happened in the last few days. But this makes me realize how important you are, in my life. So, please don't ignore me. You can be angry but just don't try to leave me…"
His every single word hit her hard as abrupt tears fell from her eyes.
When Sam saw her crying, he used his fingers to wipe her tears away.
However, Julia moved backward and gave him a heavy stare, before turning back without an answer.
And this time he let her go because he knew she got the same feeling as him.
Her tears are the best evidence he could ever have…
Now he only hopes that she will give him a chance.
