Chapter 130: Chapter 130
"I hope he is already gone," Julia mumbled inside her brain as she unlocked the apartment door only to see Rebecca already awake and now standing in the living room, watching her.
"Rebecca?" Julia shrugged. As her mind is a little tense thinking about Edwin. She only hoped he was not down anymore.
Rebecca walked towards her as Julia slowly closed the door behind her and showed a fake plastered smile.
"Babe, you are still awake?" Julia awkwardly inquired.
"Yeah, I felt thirsty, so I just woke up to fetch water from the kitchen but I noticed your room's light on and then checked that you were not inside. Where did you go at this time?" She looked at her and interrogated.
Julia's lips sealed tight for a moment before she made a story.
"Ohh..a-actually…I just went for a walk as I could not sleep." She tried to sound chill but Rebecca frowned. Because Julia never does walk at night.
"Are you sure? You don't hide something?" Rebecca directly inquired.
Julia shook her head and said with a big smile, "Absolutely not. I'm telling the truth. I just feel like walking."
Rebecca sighed in relief to hear that and said, "Then it's okay. I'm just a little scared not to see you at home."
Julia tried to fake a laugh and said, " No babes, what can happen to me? I'm sorry to go like this."
Rebecca nodded. While Julia declared, "Alright, now, let's sleep. I'm feeling a little tired now." Julia faking yawned.
"Yeah, you should," Rebecca replied and Julia breathed in relief.
However, before they could move to their rooms, someone rang their apartment bell.
"Who can be here at this time?" Rebecca raised a question while Julia suddenly felt annoyed to think what if it's Edwin. Even after her warning, he dares to come and upset Rebecca.
When she was literally thinking about this, Rebecca already walked towards the door to unlock it.
Julia soon noticed that and walked fast enough to stop her.
"Rebecca!"
Rebecca turned.
"You should go and sleep. It's already late. I'll take care of the door." She hurriedly said and without hearing her response, went directly to open the door slowly, so if it was Edwin she would scold him going out.
However, it was the old lady who just met her at the entrance.
"Aunt?" Julia, confused, stared at her.
While the old lady looked at her with strict eyes and said, "I need two minutes to talk."
Julia nodded her head and got out of the apartment to talk. But she forgets to close the door behind her.
"Julia, even though he is your relative. Let him know that he can't come here in a drunken state. It's not good manners and we don't like that."
Julia awkwardly gave an apologizing smile and said, "I'm sorry, aunt. I already told him that. He will not go to do that again."
The old lady nodded and left while Julia sighed and turned to walk inside but soon her eyes caught Rebecca who was standing just opposite the door and already heard their talk.
"Rebecca…" She felt a little stunned but soon turned calm.
"Rebecca, you didn't sleep?" Julia tried to divert her attention.
However, Rebecca stared at her with serious eyes as she did not go to buy her words anymore.
"Julia, who is a drunken man? And why did he come to meet you at night?"
Julia faked a smile and walked towards her with a chilling tone, "He…he just my relative and got here."
"Then why did you lie to me before when I asked about you suddenly leaving the house?"
Julia felt hesitant but soon replied, " I just…"
"Stop " Before she could speak Rebecca stopped her mid-way. While Julia stared at her with an awkward gaze.
"Julia, why don't you just tell me the truth? If someone is giving you a hard time just tell me, and we will complain to the cops."
Julia sighed to hear her words.
Rebecca only looked serious because she thought she was in trouble.
This thing made Julia shake her head in denial and finally decided to tell her the real truth.
"Rebecca, you got things wrong…"
Rebecca's brows arched.
"Actually, The drunken man was Edwin…" Rebecca's eyes widened with surprise as she thought.
"He comes to meet you. But the neighborhood old lady stops him as he completely stinks of alcohol. She called me as he said your name to her and I managed to go and told the lady he is one of my relatives. After hearing that she left." Rebecca bit her lower lips feeling numb.
"I asked Edwin to leave right after that as I don't want him to make you feel upset again when you start to get better." Rebecca never thought he would still try to come to her apartment but what she heard made her heartache.
Julia saw her expression and her face instantly filled with concern, "Rebecca, are you okay?" To which Rebecca nodded and asked in an exchange, "So, he left or not?" She hoped he left already.
"I don't know. I told him to leave. As he is almost in a drunken state."
Rebecca thought something and asked Julia to check on him from the window.
Julia instantly agreed and went to the window. She looked down and checked on the places where she left him. And he was not there. This made her relieved.
"Rebecca he's gone." She shouted and was ready to turn when her eyes got some view.
She turned back to make sure. She is watching right.
Edwin is not gone anywhere. He is still here but the place has changed. He is standing on the opposite side of the road and staring at the building and now at her.
Julia frowned and immediately walked towards Rebecca to inform.
"Rebecca, I was wrong. He is still here and now he saw me looking at him from the window."
Rebecca's face frowned. And she stared at the window. She noticed that Julia didn't close the curtain.
