Chapter 129: Chapter 129
At Night
"Rebecca, you should drink warm milk at least. I saw you eating so little these last few days." Julia stood with glass on the tray in front of her bed. Rebecca agreed with her and thanked her before taking the warm milk glass from the tray.
"After drinking, just go to sleep and don't think about anything else." Julia's voice filled with softness.
"Don't worry. I'll only think about my baby from now on. This life got me nothing. But at least I still got something to cheer about." Rebecca touched her abdomen. While Julia nodded and agreed with her.
"Now, you should also rest, Julia. You go to the office tomorrow." Rebecca asserted while Julia lightly Humm. Before bidding goodnight to her.
Rebecca stared at the ceiling with empty eyes as she thought about Edwin and her conversation. The way his eyes looked at her at that time, it almost felt like she was breaking his heart. But in reality, she's the one who gets hurt most.
The man she falls for, the same man for her misery. It can't be accepted by any woman. She felt hurt and emptying deep inside her. The only thing which still holds her strength, the only thing which made her survive still and let her no cry more, is her baby.
Thinking about all this her eyes both corners let the tears roll down and wet her pillow.
The love she wanted dearly, the love which destroyed everything. Now she doesn't dare to fall again for this word.

"Sir…Can you hear me, Sir?" The waiter tried to wake up Edwin, who slept on his seat drinking nonstop.
"Sir, you should go home and rest now." The waiter tried his best to make him open his red bloodshot eyes at last as he completely reeked of alcohol.
Edwin lazily raised his head to look at the waiter. While his head was almost in pain from so much alcohol. His vision is still blurred, so he barely sees the waiter's face.
"Thank God, sir, you finally awake. You already drink so much. You should go home now. If you want, I can contact your family member to take you from here." The waiter politely said.
But Edwin shook his head lightly and denied him the next moment.
"No. You don't need to do that…" He mumbled out.
However, Waiter can't let him stay more as he already drinks so much the whole day that it can be dangerous for his health to drink more.
"Sir, if you don't want any family to take you. Can I book a cab for you? We got a cab for urgent time." The waiter was a little hesitant because he didn't want to make him angry anyway. In this club, all the rich people come. So, he needs to be assured with his words.
Edwin thought for a second and asked, "What is the time right now?"
The waiter shortly responds.
"It's already night, Sir."
Edwin pressed his fingers on his forehead with head pain and said, " Alright then, ask the cab to come."
The waiter is finally glad that he is ready to go.
"Okay sir, you just rest here. I'll book the cab."
Edwin nodded and let his head again rest on the table while he whispered Rebecca's name between his heavy breaths.
.
.
"Sir, we are already at your destination." The cab driver informs Edwin after stopping the car, While Edwin looks outside the window and views the tall building where Rebecca lives.
"Yeah, it is my destiny." He blurted out in a half-drunk manner.
He paid the big money note to the driver and thanked him, before moving off the car.
The driver drives away. While Edwin takes unsteady steps to go toward the building entrance.
However, before he could enter, an old lady in her 60s stopped him.
"Hey, man!"
"Where are you going?" She inquired coldly, stopping him.
Edwin turned and watched the old lady with a questioning gaze.
The old lady walked toward him and instantly frowned at smelling alcohol from him. She felt he is a gully and alcoholic man and was immediately filled with anger.
"Hey man, whoever you are? You can't come here to stink in alcohol. Please go now." She coldly declared.
Edwin frowned to hear her words and mumbled in an alcoholic tone, "No, I'll not leave. Until I meet Rebecca. I came here to see her."
The old lady instantly realizes he is related to her neighbor, a young lady. So, she immediately called Julia's number.
A few moments later, Julia comes to the entrance only to see Edwin with a messy appearance. When she got a call from the lady, she didn't guess who the drunk man was, asking for her friend late at night. But seeing Edwin in front of her completely in a drunken manner. She got her answer and soon her voice came out to call his name in shock.
"Mr.Edwin?"
She shockingly watched him. While the old lady's face turned grumpy to realize the alcoholic man is known by Julia.
"You know this alcoholic man, Julia?" The old lady asked.
Julia felt awkward and made up the story that he is her relative and had just broken up with his girlfriend a few days ago.
The old lady sighed to hear that and turned gentle, "What a poor guy! But tell him not to drink like that for a girl. She doesn't serve him. He could get a good girl in the future. "
Edwin, who is half drunk, couldn't understand half of the old lady's words and silently watched Julia and her.
After that, the lady went to the building.
While Julia crossed her arms and started at Edwin.
"Mr.Edwin, what are you doing here?"
Edwin stared at Julia and mumbled, "I want to see Rebecca…" His voice halted.
Julia's brows arched and she directly said, "Mr.Edwin, but my friend doesn't want to meet you or see you. Please leave as soon as possible, if you don't want to hurt her."
Edwin's hand clenched as he couldn't speak more.
Julia thought he finally understood her words and left him alone to go back to the apartment.
Edwin stood in the same place as the statue.
