Chapter 109: Chapter 109

EARLY MORNING

Edwin looked at his wall clock where it was already time for his flight after two hours. He got up from his bed and looked out the window where sun rays were already coming inside his room. But his heart is still moving through the darkness with stings of feelings.

He wanted to check on Rebecca after their conversation last night. But he had no energy to do that anymore. He hopelessly gets up from the bed while his face doesn't get any expression at all.

He looked at his phone and called the driver.

"Good morning, Sir." The driver immediately greeted him on the phone while he didn't talk back, just illustrating the task.

"Hello, Go and tell Rebecca Mam, she needs to be ready to go to the airport, the flight is in two hours. We need to go out an hour before to be on the flight at the right time."

"Alright, sir!" The driver instantly responded.

Edwin disconnects the call and puts it back on the bed.

After last night, he doesn't know how they will interact in the future.

The driver immediately rushed to do his task.

He came and stood in front of Rebecca's door and knocked on it twice.

He waited patiently to hear from her and soon he saw the door opening.

Rebecca is still in her black gown, while her hair and get up are messy with red puffing eyes. Anyone can see that she had cried and not slept at all.

The driver was a little taken back to see her like this but soon greeted her with a small smile.

"Good Morning, Miss Rebecca."

Rebecca just nodded while her eyes still felt heavy to notice the driver's confused stares at her.

The driver felt something was wrong with her and asked with a concerned full voice," Madam, are you okay? Is there anything wrong? If you want, I will ask Sir to come."

Hearing Edwin's name, she broke her silence immediately, "No, I'm fine. I just got a cold. You don't need to tell anything about this to your Sir."

The driver nodded.

"So, why do you come here?" She finally asked.

The driver remembered his task and shortly responded," Madam, Sir, ask me to tell you. The fight is in two hours. We need to go to the airport in one hour."

Rebecca suddenly realized, there is a flight for her to go back home.

She looked at the driver and respond," Alright, I'll be there."

The driver gave a polite smile at the end of the conversation and finally left her.

Rebecca closed the door and looked through the wall. After their last conversation, she hoped Edwin was not going to persuade her anymore.

On one side this thought made her relieved but on the other side, she felt hurt to realize everything is not going to be the same anymore.

If things do not work well anymore, she needs to find another job. Yes, it's not easy but seeing him regularly hurting because of her, going to make her feel worse than that.

"Sir, I informed the madam about the flight, and she told me, she will come in time." The driver called him to inform him.

"Alright." He replied and cut the call.

He went to the window and looked at the big sky with empty eyes.

'I don't love you, Mr.Edwin.'

'Please don't cross boundaries.'

Thinking of all these words, he closed his eyes and inhaled a long breath.

After changing his suit, he came out of the room and turned to stare at Rebecca's room door.

He wanted to check on her. If she's alright or not. And if she is ready?

But if she wanted to see him? He felt hurt to think all that.

However, still, he couldn't help his heart not to go there, and soon he made up his mind to walk. He slowly takes a step towards her door.

His eyes looked at her door in front of his eyes, like this is the only place where he could find his happiness.

Soon he raised his hand to knock on the door with his knuckles but before his hand could touch the door, he stopped his hand midway and just changed his mind to pull his hand down, and turned without knocking on her door, leaving in silence.

The heart is something that never can get enough. Even if it's pain, you will be ready to bear it for your love. In their case nothing different.

Edwin silently waited for her to come in the car. While the driver suddenly notified him that she was coming.

Edwin turned his head to look at Rebecca who was without expression coming in his car's direction.

He felt relief, at least she came out, or else he started to think she just told the driver to lie to make him go.

Rebecca raised her head and soon her eyes met with Edwin but she immediately retreated her gaze. Because whenever she looked into his eyes, she remembered their last night's conversation. His love confession, her love rejection. Every time she thought about this she started to feel guilty.

Edwin noticed her ignorance and felt a little lost but soon he moved his stare from her, not to make her feel awkward. If she doesn't like his stares, he will not be going to see her for long anymore.

All he wants is for her to relax and not be hyper.

Rebecca silently takes a seat beside him. Because he is the boss, she can't disrespect him by sitting with the driver beside her.

"Driver, start the car." Edwin instantly instructed as soon as Rebecca get inside.

All the way they were silent. Where Rebecca stares outside the view with empty eyes.

Edwin rests in the car closing his eyes. This is the only way he can think of to make her feel comfortable.

Rebecca noticed his closing eyes and couldn't help but look in his direction for a long minute while her eyes turned red and she felt so lost in this moment.

'I'm sorry.' She whispered inside her heart while her eyes never left his face.
