Chapter 65: Chapter 65
Mo Shan was already tired because of that girl. He did not want to go to the company anymore because if he did, then employees will only suffer because of his bad mood. So, he told the driver to drive to the apartment rented by the company instead. He also called the company to inform them that he was not coming and to postpone all the meetings to the next day.
After getting into the apartment, the first thing he did was enter the bathroom for a shower. After getting his brain eaten by that girl, he desperately needed a shower.
After having the shower, he opened the gallery of his mobile phone and looked at the picture of Ray. He knew that only looking at his niece's photo will brighten his day. He was already missing her. Until Xiao Hui was born, he himself was the youngest in the Mo Family. So, he was spoilt by his parents and brothers. After Xiao Hui was born, he finally got a chance to spoil someone too.
He still remembers how the whole family was excited by the arrival of Xiao Hui into their lives. But after the death of his eldest brother and sister-in-law, their happiness had withered away. And only then did he realize the true meaning of life.
Now he hoped that with the arrival of Ray, the family's happiness would bloom again.
...
At the airport, the girl from earlier walked for a few meters when the two bulky men from earlier blocked her way. The girl sighed, looking at them. "You guys never feel tired, do you?"
"Miss, please come with us. Sir is waiting for you." One of the men said in a deadpan voice. No emotions could be felt in that voice.
"Fine, fine, fine. You guys won't let me get away anyway." She continued talking with them while walking, "By the way, I was meaning to ask you guys if you would like to work for me. Don't worry about the pay. I will give double of the amount that your sir is paying you." She tried to swindle them with the use of greed. But the men did not even react to her words.
Her lips twitched, looking at the two bulky figures surrounding her. "Fine, fine. I give in to you guys. I knew you people are loyal to your sir only." The girl herself rolled her eyes, thinking how she was trying to communicate with them. But it was like talking to air.
She was the only one chattering non-stop. "I think I should name myself chatter-box," she thought in her head and started laughing at her own joke. The men around her exchanged glances and thought if their miss was a crazy person from inside. But of course, they would not dare to voice their thoughts.
The girl then sat on the car that the men had brought. After around 45 minutes of driving, the car entered a community surrounded by greenery. The surroundings themselves screamed money and prestige, but the girl did not blink her eyes looking at them. After about five more minutes of driving, the car came to halt in front of a massive mansion.
A man in his mid-fifties was standing on the porch of the mansion. When he saw the car heading in, he heaved a sigh of relief.
The girl saw him standing there, and her eyes turned blurry. But she controlled her tears from escaping her eyes as she did not want to seem sad. She hurriedly blinked her eyes not to cry. After the car stopped, she alighted down from it and went straight to the man’s arms.
"Greetings, old man." She said as she jumped into his arms.
The man did not feel offended at all. "Look at you, you have become so thin. You only know how to worry your old dad. And I heard that you were trying to run away from the airport again?" Though his voice sounded stern, the girl in his arms only felt the warmth seeping in.
"You know I feel irritated looking at your men. But you still sent them to pick me up." The girl complained while pouting.
"It's because I worry about you. Moreover, I just arranged two people for it." Her dad countered back.
"Fine, fine. I am hungry," she complained.
"Your mother is cooking for you. Let's head in. She has been waiting for you eagerly."
They then headed inside. "Mom," she shouted, walking in.
A woman in her late-forties working in the kitchen heard her daughter's voice and quickly went out to see her. She asked a maid to cook the remaining dishes.
"Kiara- my daughter," the woman exclaimed, as she welcomed her daughter in her warm embrace. Only she knew how much she missed her during this period.
"Thank you, Mom. For everything," said Kiara, as she hugged her mother.
Kiara's father Wen Hongxin's, and Kiara's mother Kezie's eyes turned teared up as they heard their daughter's words. They knew what she was talking about. At this moment Wen Hongxin felt very thankful towards his wife. If not for his wife, he would not have been courageous enough to let Kiara go away from them after that incident. And if she had not left that time, maybe his daughter still would have been that sad, depressed girl. But now his heart settled down as he saw his daughter fighting her sadness strongly.
"What are you talking about?" Kenzie broke the serious atmosphere going on there and said, "I have been preparing your favorite dishes. Let's go. You must be hungry, right?"
"Mmmm." Kiara nodded her head and followed her mother to the dining area. The dining table was full of delicacies, and Kiara's mouth turned watery at their sight. "Omg, I loved this." She exclaimed in between her eating.
"By the way, where is brother?" Kiara asked.
"You know how your brother is. He is in the company. He always arrives late at night, but since you were coming today, he might arrive soon." Wen Hongxin explained as he added food to his daughter's plate. Just then, they heard the sound of solid footsteps stepping closer.
"Oh it must be brother," Kiara exclaimed as she walked out.
As soon as she saw her brother, she pounced on him.
Her brother Kyle had already her footsteps, so he knew what was going to come next. And as he expected, his sister pounced on him right away. "Welcome back," he said, ruffling her hair.
"I knew that you would come early, but not this early," came Hong Xin's voice from behind.
"How could I not when my sister returned after such a long time." He replied, looking at Kiara. "I missed you."
"Missed you too. But that was needed, bro."
Sensing that the atmosphere was going to turn solemn again, Kenzie spoke up, "Let's not talk about it anymore. The food is turning cold. Let's eat."
So, everyone got back to eating after that. In between their lunch, the dining area was noisy every second. They had so much to talk to each other about.
"Have you thought of doing something after returning, Kiara?" Kyle asked his sister about her plans. He knew that his sister would not return without any plans.
"I have decided to run a charity organization. But for a few days, I am just thinking of resting." Kiara replied.
"Very good," stated her father from the side. "You must be tired, so just rest for a few days. Your brother and I will help you after that. Just inform us in case you need anything." He would support his daughter at everything she decided on doing.
"Thank you, dad. But I want to do everything on my own. If I ever feel tired or feel like I can't do it, I will ask for your help."
They then discussed their present affairs on how everything was going on. After having lunch, Kiara went to sleep.
"I am very glad that she has decided to move on. My daughter is so strong." Wen Hongxin claimed proudly.
Kenzie and Kyle rolled their eyes, looking at him trying to get all credits for himself.
