un Xi was now feeling so ashamed about the fact that she actually kissed him back. But when she thought about it, she didn’t dislike it. To be more precise, she even enjoyed the feeling. But she was afraid that Mo Shan would think of her like some wild, unruly girl.

At first, she was so confused and didn’t know what to do when he deepened their kiss. She even forgot to breathe and was panting hard. But when he kissed her a second time, she didn’t know what came into her, and she naturally reciprocated.

Now she was afraid of what he would think of her. But the response she got warmed her heart. He hugged her tightly and let her be in his arms. She was not exaggerating, his tight hug really washed away all her insecurities. She stayed still in his arms enjoying his warmth.

Mo Shan was happy that Yun Xi was finally starting to take a step forward in their relationship. He hugged the girl in his arms tightly feeling contended.

Even he was surprised by his feelings for her. At first, it was just a feeling of gratitude towards her for saving his life, but now the way he felt towards her was changing. But it wasn’t the feeling he detested. He quite liked it and was even contended.

After a while, they reached Mo's family mansion. Assistant Zhang finally shut off the partition and opened the door of Mo Shan.

Mo Shan got out of the car acting as if nothing happened inside the car, but Yun Xi’s shade of face betrayed them. Her cheeks were red, and she could not even raise her head to face Assistant Zhang. Mo Shan took her hand indifferently and led her inside.

Assistant Zhang snickered behind them when he saw their expression and gave his boss a thumbs-up in his heart. His boss can act calm and cool in every situation. While driving earlier, he was actually feeling scared that his boss would tell him to stop the car in some remote area and get down to his personal business. But thankfully it didn’t happen. Otherwise, his little heart would not have been able to take it.

Just when they were a step away from the hall, Mo Shan paused. Yun Xi looked at him, confused. She didn’t know why Mo Shan stopped walking. As she was looking at him, Mo Shan also turned to her stiffly. It looked as if he was guilty and embarrassed about something. Yun Xi was about to ask him what was wrong but before she could do that, she heard a sweet voice calling her.

“Mommy”, Xiao Hui called his mother as soon as he saw her. He ran to her and childishly hugged her legs.

Yun Xi forgot about Mo Shan as soon as she saw the little guy hugging her. She quickly crouched down to hug him tight in her arms. Mo Shan looked at them and opened his mouth to say something, but Xiao Hui beat him to it.

“Mommy, do you know who is here?” Xiao Hui asked excitedly.

Yun Xi looked at Mo Shan questioningly but found him avoiding her eyes. She frowned and opened her mouth to say something. But, before a word came out of her mouth, Xiao Hui’s words came crashing down on her.

“Mommy, Grandma, and Grandpa are here. Come, I will bring you to meet her”, Xiao Hui said in his cute voice.

Yun Xi was stunned when she heard him. She glanced at Mo Shan hurriedly with shock in her eyes. What she got in return was an awkward smile. She wanted to kill him right then. How could he not tell her about it? She glared at him with a murderous look as if saying, “You are dead now.”

Mo Shan was surprised when he saw that expression on her face at first. But later, he smiled realizing that she has started being her true self in front of him, and not just acting. “Maybe I should make her angry a few more times”, he thought.

Yun Xi blushed when she saw that he was smiling instead of when she glared at him. How could he just smile like that? Shouldn’t he be apologizing?

Actually, Mo Shan didn’t know that Mother Mo and Father Mo had returned. Just when he was going to get off from work, he saw a message from Mo Sheng. It was only then that he got to know about it. He wanted to inform Yun Xi but forgot about it after seeing her action in the car. He remembered it just now and was going to tell her about it, but his son beat him to it again.

When Yun Xi returned to her senses, she was already being pulled inside by Xiao Hui. She was now panicking inside. She has heard from Mo Shan and Grandpa Mo that Mother Mo was a bit strict. So, she didn’t have enough courage to face her as of now.

Just as she was thinking of running away from there, Mo Shan walked forward and grabbed her other hand in assurance. He whispered, “Relax. My mother is not a monster. I am sure she will like you. Moreover, I am here. I will protect you.”

It was sweet that he was encouraging her, but Yun Xi felt like cursing at him. Protect, my a**. If only he had reminded her about this earlier, she would have at least prepared herself. But now, she had no choice other than to face Mother Mo.

When they stepped into the hall, they saw a figure sitting on the couch, sipping her tea. Xiao Hui ran to that figure calling, “Grandma.”

Yun Xi was shocked when she heard Xiao Hui calling that lady grandma. Because the lady looked so young. She didn’t look like the age of grandmother at all.

Yun Xi had imagined Mother Mo to look intimidating and scary from what she has heard. But, reality proved to be very vast from her imagination. Who would call such a graceful and elegant woman scary? Yun Xi could feel warmth oozing out from Mother Mo when she talked to Xiao Hui. Half of her fear diminished just from the sight of Mother Mo.

Yun Xi felt more confident. She breathed in and out to relax.

Yun Xi heard Xiao Hui introducing her to Mother Mo. “Grandma, look who is here. This is my mommy. Isn’t she beautiful?”

Mother Mo’s expression turned a bit awful when she heard her precious grandson praising another woman, aside from herself, as beautiful. Xiao Hui noticed his grandma’s expression and continued, “Of course, she is less beautiful than you, grandma.”

Mother Mo’s eyes brightened at his words. She knew that he was just doing that to make her feel good, but she was still pleased. “Then, won’t you introduce me to your mother?” she asked.

Yun Xi also heard how Xiao Hui had changed his words to make his grandma happy. She chuckled at his words. He was just too cute. Sometimes, she had an urge to run away with him. She was just so proud of her son.

When she heard Mother Mo’s words, she went forward and greeted her, “Aunty.”

Just then, Old Master Mo arrived there too and chided Yun Xi, “Xiao Xi, why are being so distant. Just call her mom. Why are you calling her aunty?”

Mo Shan also nodded his head at that part. Yun Xi then greeted again, “Mom”

Mother Mo nodded subtly at her. She thought that this girl was not bad as she thought. If the girl was greedy, she would have acted to be familiar with her and get on her good side. But, Yun Xi did nothing of that sort. She was even polite and humble. She could feel from the way she dressed and her expressions that she was not the greedy type.

Mother Mo then spoke, “I heard you cook very well? It has been many days since I haven’t got a chance to eat home food. Maybe I can today.” She was clearly indicating for Yun Xi to cook.

Old Master Mo wanted to say something but stopped himself when he got a look from Yun Xi.

Yun Xi shook her head to Old Master Mo signaling him to stay quiet. It was only cooking, no big deal. Moreover, she liked cooking and everyone enjoyed her food. So, she nodded cheerfully at Mother Mo, “Yes, mom. I will cook for you. Can you let me know what you specifically want to eat so that I can make it for you?”

“I am not picky”, was the reply she got.

Just then, a voice sounded, “Mommy, I want sweet and sour pork.” It was none other than Xiao Hui. Mo Sheng reached there and he also began listing off the names of dishes. He only stopped when he got a glare from Mo Shan and Old Master Mo.

Yun Xi chuckled at that but didn't reject him. She then turned to Butler Li and spoke, "Uncle Li, I will be cooking around 6:30 pm. Can you have someone to prepare the ingredients?"

Butler Li bowed his head and replied, "Young Miss, I will do that. You can rest assured."

After getting approval from Butler Li, she talked with Xiao Hui, "Darling, have you done your homework? Come, let mommy check it."

With that, she left with Xiao Hui, Mo Shan following behind.
