“Mommy, let’s go sleep. I am feeling sleepy. Read me the bedtime stories, okay?”, Xiao Hui's voice resounded breaking Yun Xi's line of thought.

“Mmmm, come mommy will read your stories and sing songs”, Yun Xi told him and then they walked to bed hand in hand.

Xiao Hui did not forget to look like his father while they passed by him. His look clearly stated, “Saw that? I don’t need to use your cheap tactics to get my mommy's attention.”

Mo Shan shook his head helplessly. He was not acting this time but was really helpless. He also wanted to sleep with his wife but that son of his always came in between. “Just this once", he persuaded himself and went to his own room to have a shower.

After Mo Shan left, Yun Xi began to read stories to Xiao Hui while patting his head gently. Xiao Hui also pushed himself into Yun Xi’s embrace and was happily listening to the stories while looking at her with wide eyes.

Half an hour later when Mo Shan came to check on them after a shower, both of them were already asleep. His eyes turned gentle at that scene and tip-toed towards them without making any sound. After reaching next to them, he adjusted their blankets and crouched down to give a peck on both their cheek.

“Goodnight”, he whispered and left the room after closing the door behind him silently.

The next day, Yun Xi woke up early in the morning, nearly at 5:30 am. Xiao Hui was still asleep at that time, so she decided to make breakfast herself for that day.

So, she hurriedly washed and went to the kitchen intending to prepare breakfast for everyone. When she reached downstairs at the hall, she found that Butler Li was already awake.

“Good morning, Uncle Li”, she greeted him.

Butler Li was surprised to see Yun Xi already awake. “Miss, why are you awake this early? You should sleep a bit more”, he told her as he knew that she was pregnant and needed more sleep.

Yun Xi was embarrassed by Butler Li’s words and spoke, “Uncle Li, I am fine. I usually wake up at this time, so no trouble at all. Moreover, I may fall asleep any time in the noon, so it’s better that I wake up early in the morning. Otherwise, I might really become lazy.”

Old Master smiled at her words feeling amused and said, “Then, you can sit here for a while, Young Miss. I will get the chef to prepare breakfast for you quickly.”

Yun Xi shook her head at him and said, “No need to trouble chef Lu, Uncle Li. I was actually thinking of preparing breakfast for everyone by myself today. Instead, you can guide me on what to prepare and what everyone prefers for breakfast.”

“Young Miss, I don’t think that would be nice. You just cooked for everyone yesterday. If Old Master gets to know about it, he will really be angry about it”, Butler Li answered Yun Xi in a gentle voice.

Yun Xi did not know whether to cry or laugh at her situation. Since the time Old Master Mo has come to know about her pregnancy, he has really been treating her as if she was some shards of glass that could be broken with just a bit of fall.

“Uncle Li, you don’t have to worry about it. I am not that fragile. Furthermore, it is just some light breakfast. It will be done in no time.” Saying this, Yun Xi began walking towards the kitchen with Butler Li tailing her, trying to change her mind. But Yun Xi was having none of it, so Butler Li could just shake his head and follow her.

Yun Xi decided to make some French toast, eggs, oatmeal, milk, and some fruits. After deciding, she began preparing those straight away.

While she was on it, Mo Shan and Old Master Mo woke up too. They walked down just to find Butler Li standing outside the kitchen troubled.

They got confused seeing butler Li conflicted. Mo Shan walked to the kitchen with a look of suspicion with Old Master Mo following him. There, they found Yun Xi cutting the fruits and placing them in a bowl.

“Xiao Xi, what are you doing in the kitchen this early in the morning”, asked Old Master Mo surprised.

Yun XI turned around to find Old Master Mo and Mo Shan standing together. She quickly chopped the remaining fruits and brought the bowl to the dining table outside while replying, “I was preparing some breakfast, grandpa. It’s already done. You can take a seat and have it now.”

Knowing that the breakfast was prepared by Yun Xi, Old Master Mo started berating her and Butler Li, “What? Did you prepare the breakfast? Xiao Xi, why do you need to make it when the thing you need the most is rest. And you, Old Li, why didn’t you stop Xiao Xi from making breakfast? You know her condition very well, don’t you?”

Butler Li felt like crying but no tears came out of his eyes.

Seeing that Butler was getting scolded because of her, Yun Xi hastily interrupted Old Master Mo, “Grandpa, Uncle Li did stop me from working but it was me who did not listen to him. Moreover, I am fine. This much is nothing and I also read in some magazines that light work is good for pregnancy.”

Old Master Mo thought Yun Xi was bluffing, so he asked unbelievably, “Really?”

“Of course, grandpa. See here”, she said showing her mobile screen to Old Master Mo. The screen was showing ‘To Do's and ‘Don'ts’ while one was pregnant.

She continued speaking, “See, grandpa it clearly says that pregnant women should do some light exercises daily to make delivery easier.”

When Old Master Mo found that it was true, he became a bit relieved, then spoke, “It’s fine then. But, don’t overwork yourself, especially the first 3 months. Now, let me taste your delicacies.” With that, he sat himself in the chair waiting for Yun Xi to serve him breakfast like a child.

Mo Shan also took a seat next to Old Master Mo and spoke, “Butler Li, Xiao Hui must be awake by now. Tell him breakfast is ready.”

Before Butler Li could take a step, Yun Xi’s voice sounded, “Wait, Uncle Li. Let me bring him here.” She then commenced walking without listening to his reply.

When she reached Xiao Hui’s room, she slowly opened the door and peeked inside to check if Xiao Hui was already awake. She then saw that Xiao Hui has already washed, changed his clothes, and was reading a book while lying on the bed.

She took the book from his hand and spoke, “Come on, Xiao Hui. Breakfast is ready and everyone is waiting for you.”

“Mommy”, the first thing Xiao Xi did was addressing her and hugging her tightly. Yun Xi too returned his hug and kissed him on his cheek while ruffling his hair.

Soon, they reached the dining hall but there was an additional member who was none other than Mo Sheng. He still looked sleepy but got up when he heard that the breakfast was prepared by Yun Xi. Otherwise, he was not a person to wake up so early in the morning.

When he saw Yun Xi coming, he greeted, “Good morning, sister-in-law” to which Yun Xi also replied with the same. She then took Xiao Hui to sit next to Mo Shan and served him breakfast. She also took a seat next to Xiao Hui and began to dig up.

While they were eating, Mo Shan, who had not spoken a single word, opened his mouth, “We are getting marriage certificate today. So, get ready and we will go there around 10 am.”

Yun Xi was sipping the milk when she heard Mo Shan’s words. She spits out the milk and stutters, “M…Marr… Marriage Certificate?!!”
