“Ma... Marriage certificate?”, Yun Xi stuttered.

Mo Shan narrowed his eyes at her and asked, “En, marriage certificate. But why are you acting so surprised? Didn't I already tell you about it?”

Yun Xi did not know how to reply to the question. Can she directly say that she is not ready? Will he even agree if I say that? Then why is he asking me? Hmph, as if he cares. Of course, these were just Yun Xi's thinking. She would not be able to say these words to Mo Shan even if god himself provided her with guts.

So she just smiled and spoke sweetly, “That... I was just surprised by sudden words. You don’t have to take it to heart. And, of course, we are getting it today or else when will we be getting it, right?”

She then started digging up the food as if trying to bury herself under it. She was so ashamed of herself for acting like that.

Since Yun Xi was lost in her own thoughts, she did not notice Xiao Hui’s eyes lit up when he heard his father mentioning marriage certificates.

He then faced Yun Xi full of smile and asked, “ Is it true, mommy? You are getting married today? Does that mean you are going to be my real mommy?”

When Yun Xi heard the word ‘real mommy’, she was stunned at first. But then, she was the happy smile on Xiao Hui's face and she felt as if everything was worth it. She can do everything for that warm smile.

So, she nodded cheerfully at Xiao Hui and said, “En, that means Xiao Hui is going to be mommy's real son. Is Xiao Hui happy?”

“En, Xiao Hui is very happy", exclaimed Xiao Hui and clapped his hands excitedly.

Yun Xi also got affected by his cheerfulness and she began laughing too patting aside all her insecurities.

Since they were going to get the marriage certificate, Yun Xi wore a white dress. Although the dress was plain, it still looked very good on her. She decided to let her hair fall free instead of tying it and opted out of any type of jewelry.

Yun Xi decided to wait for Mo Shan downstairs. But, when she arrived there, she saw that Mo Shan was already there. Moreover, he was waiting for her without any impatience.

She ran to him and apologized for being late.

When Mo Shan saw Yun Xi running towards him, he was stunned at first. She looked so beautiful that if someone asked him to describe her beauty, he would not have a word to say. That moment felt just surreal to him.

He didn't even realize when Yun Xi reached to him, and she was looking at him with those big eyes now. He wanted to tell her to change into something plainer but, he realized that she was already wearing a plain dress. He really didn't want anyone to look at his beautiful wife, but there was nothing he could do.

Yun Xi found Mo Shan staring at her without blinking, so she got a little shy.

"Umm, let's go?" asked Yun Xi shyly.

Mo Shan nodded and took her hand into his without speaking. At first, Yun Xi wanted to free her hand for his but felt him tighten his hold when she tried it. So, she just left it like that and followed him, hand in hand.

The driver, with the surname Chen, was already waiting for them outside the mansion. When Driver Chen saw them coming, he quickly went to open the door for them.

While the driver opened the door, Mo Shan shielded Yun Xi's head from hitting the car roof by placing his hand above her head. Yun Xi felt like she was being spoiled to the core by this man.

Even driver Chen was shocked as that was the first time he saw his master caring for a girl except for his mother and grandmother.

After Yun Xi was seated comfortably, Mo Shan too entered the car. The driver also got on the car after closing the door and started the car.

About an hour after, they reached the Civil Affairs Bureau. Assistant Zhang has already talked with people there so they did not have to wait for long and everything was done in few minutes.

Since they were early in the morning, they encountered almost no one there.

While the two were asked to take a photograph for the certificate, they were just standing stiff at the beginning.

The photographer was getting a hard time clicking their photo as they were just standing still expressionless. But he did not have the guts to tell them to correct their posture, especially after seeing Mo Shan's icy look.

So, he could only turn to Yun Xi and ask for help politely, “Mrs. Mo, can you stand a little bit more closed to Mr. Mo?”

Maybe because Mo Shan heard the photographer addressing Yun Xi as Mrs. Mo, his expression turned gentle and pulled Yun Xi closer to him.

Then, he put his arms around Yun Xi's shoulder so that she could not move even if she wanted to.

He then crouched a bit to Yun Xi's level and whispered, “Smile.”

Mo Shan's whisper acted like a magic as the photographer found Yun Xi smiling shyly. Mo Shan's eyes also turned warm when he saw Yun Xi's smile. And, now they looked perfect.

"What did Mr. Mo say to Mrs. Mo that she is laughing so shyly?" thought the photographer.

Anyway, his job was to click a perfect photo of them, so he didn't dwell much on it and started clicking photos cheerfully.

After the photos were done, it was time to fill the form and sign the marriage certificate.

Yun Xi paused for a while before signing. She was actually afraid of being betrayed again, so she was not sure about the decision.

Mo Shan could guess what was going on in her mind so, he just gave her space and did not say anything.

Yun Xi could also feel that he was giving her space on purpose so that she could mull over it. When she raised her head to look at him, she saw the trust he had in her in his eyes.

"This man is putting his entire trust in me. So, how can I even think about him betraying me? Yun Xi, you should actually be feeling grateful that he has got your back", Yun Xi's inner voice told her.

Yun Xi then became decisive at that moment, "That's right. I should believe in him and myself."

After that, she signed the certificate without any hesitation and passed it to Mo Shan for him to sign.

Yun Xi noticed that Mo Shan did not even hesitate for a second before signing it incisively.
