“It’s a necklace from my late grandmother. She told me that I should give it to the woman of my life,” I looked at Reign in shock while holding the jade pendant I was wearing. He was firmly looking at me.

“Then why are you giving it to me?” my legs are shaking under the round table between us, but I tried to get rid of it. I’m nervous, and my heart was beating furiously.

Reign reached for my hand on the other side and gently cupped it, “Because you are my woman,” he then brought my hand in his face and kissed the back of it without taking off his eyes. I was startled as his lips touch my skin, giving off this warm feeling.

I couldn’t answer because I felt like it stitched my mouth together. I’m having a hard time opening it or even speaking a word. I was staring at Reign, trying to see if he was joking, but it looks like he isn’t.

I turned to our side as I felt someone walking toward us. Men are wearing a black shirt, white pants, white shoes, and a tie. They were holding stainless serving ware. When they reached us, their heads bent over as they placed what they’re having on the round table.

I gently withdrew my hand from Reign. I don’t know, but his blue eyes have been staring at me since earlier. It’s making me uncomfortable. I just avoided looking at Reign.

The men wearing a waitress uniform left after they put what they are carrying at the table; everything is uncovered, and I can see the luxurious foods placed on it. Since I was a part-timer waitress, I have an idea about these dishes in front of me.

There are six glass plates in front of us, along with table napkins and serving utensils. As I was looking at the dishes that were served in front of us, I was dumbfounded. They are so expensive if you eat at a restaurant, and not just casually at a restaurant but a type of expensive one!

In front of me was a roasted oyster, creamy shrimp risotto, pasta with butter, cheese fondue, and teriyaki chicken wings. I looked at Reign when I saw the last dish.

“Don’t worry. It’s already safe. I can taste it first for you to eat that safely and without worries,” he said while smiling. Reign is right. I had hesitation about the teriyaki chicken wings.

The last time I eat this favorite dish of mine, I got poisoned. I don’t know what happened after that. That day was an important event for Reign because it was for his grandparents and his parents even attended.

I want to ask about them, but I think Reign won’t love the idea, “I’m not scared if this food had a poison,” I boldly said and smiled.

Reign chuckles, “Let’s eat,” he said. I just nodded since I felt my stomach already growling at the thought of these sumptuous dishes in front of us.

I can’t believe I’m eating now with Reign, and the food served is too expensive! I only used to serve these foods at work for my high-class customers, but now, I was facing and will be serving them for my own to fill my stomach.

I looked around us. I thought there were maids, but we were the only ones here. No one but us is in the cottage. I swallowed. This was the first time I had eaten with Reign when no one else was watching. Though trembling, I tried to move my hands to pick up the table knife and fork.

I cleared my thoughts and secretly let out a deep sigh. When I looked to the front, Reign was already eating, but he was smiling. I looked back at the dishes in front of me and picked up the plate of chicken wings. Reign was eating cheese fondue.

“Are you interested in my grandparents?” Reign asked as I was gently cutting the flesh from the chicken wings. I looked at him and caught his eyes staring at me.

I had hesitations about the correct words I want to convey to him, “It’s your choice. If you feel comfortable sharing it with me, why not?” I said and then stick the fork on the sliced chicken and draw it inside my mouth.

Reign reached for a bottle of wine in front of us and personally filled his wine glass, “They are great grandparents for me, my younger brother, and for Elliott,” he started while serving wine to his drink as I continued eating.

“They are so loving. Everyone is welcome in my grandparents’ arms. They seem to be more my mother and father than my parents,”

I didn’t speak and kept listening to Reign’s words while eating. We are talking, and this is the first time we will talk like this, and I was excited. I looked at Reign as he fell silent. I was almost taken aback when I caught him staring at me while drinking wine.

“They love this island so much. They are like the father and mother of all the islanders. Trust is always open in their hearts, and even big mistakes, they can forgive them with sweet smiles on their faces,” Reign was smiling while saying these words. I can see how much he admired his grandparents.

“But,” I turned my eyes on Reign. His eyes were looking downward as he tightened the grip on the wine glass.

“You’ll break the glass,” I said and then put the fork and table knife that I was holding. Reign seemed back to himself and shrugged his head, “You don’t need to continue. I know it’s hard to share a painful memory, especially, you are very close to them,” I said, trying to calm him down.

Like Elliott, the loss of their grandparents was devastating. I’m right; Reign was bearing the pain too. I want to ask something about who killed them because that accident was an incident. Shino told me something about it when we talked last time, but I don’t want to dive into Reign’s matters.

I want Reign to tell me everything. I want to be there for him, to tell him everything will be fine. But this is not the right time. Yes, he loves me, and I have feelings for him, yet everything is unclear about our relationship. I don’t know how to address everything that was happening between us.

All I know is that I want to be with him. I feel like I don’t want to leave this island. I love the thought of being Reign’s woman. Reign nodded and then reached for my hands, “I want to tell you everything, but I don’t want to involve you in my family’s conflict,” he then gently caressed my hands, “I’ll fix this problem on my own without you getting involve,” Reign brought my hands on his face and kissed it.

My heart was throbbing furiously, and butterflies are circling inside my stomach. I was flustered because Reign has been doing this countless times today. He smiled, “With you, being is enough for me to get through all the problems that will come,” after Reign said those words, my mind was floating because of the sweetness.

I didn’t expect that I would find a man who would give me this kind of feeling. It did not enter my mind that a man would be interested in someone like me, but this is too much to be true! Who would have thought that a billionaire would turn to me and pinned me on this island?

I removed the trivial thoughts from my mind. I have nothing else to do. If what Reign feels about me is true, I left no choice but to gamble and see if Reign was sincere about his feelings for me.
