Chapter 47: Chapter 47

“Can you assure that those maids are in safety?” I asked Shino. We are still walking and I don’t know where we are going. But I think, we were on our way to the port where we had launched earlier.

“Yes. You have my word,” he said then continued to walk. I also felt Shino let go of me and we walked together. I can still see Shino’s crew running and others are preparing weapons and even their selves. It is as if we are preparing for a massive war.

“If you just want to talk to Reign, why do you need more weapons and explosives?” Shino didn’t look back at me and kept his eyes on the front as I peeked down my path and looked at him.

“I will also end everything here. To compensate what Sharmon have done to the islanders,”

“But you are not responsible for this,”

“I promised my sister that I would protect her daughter and my niece,” Shino then looked at me and smile, “Even Sharmon is like that, it wouldn’t take the fact that she’s my family. I will do this because she still needs to see the world and there’s a room for change. I’ve lost hope in her but that doesn’t mean she has no hope of changing,” I stopped talking and looked straight ahead. At any rate, family is still family.

Sharmon was blessed to have his uncle with him. I know what will happen between Shino and Reign; just in hand weapons and explosives, I know not just conversation will happen. I looked again at Shino and his solemn face was facing in the front.

“Will your decision never change? There is a way for you to just talk and not use weapons,” I asked that made Shino looked at me. He suddenly give me a smile that made my heart pump furiously. He seems like a father watching his daughter happily.

“This is the right way. Men talk with weapons. It’s the best solution to settle everything between me and the young master,” I was silent because while Shino was saying this, it seems like his decision could not really be changed. I sigh.

“Okay. I will help you,” I said and then turn my eyes in front. I felt Shino looked at me and waiting for my next words, “Once this settlement of yours is done,” I once again take a glance on him and give such assuring smile, “Even if Sharmon is wicked to the bones that it drives me to punish her, instead, I will help her to change. I will be there to give her another hope of life and I’m not doing this for her but for you,”

“Why?”

“Because you are kind, Shino. This place doesn’t suit you but yet, you are here for your niece. I envy Sharmon to have someone like you who cared so much and even stake his life for her own good,”

“But you have yours,” I stared at him, “You have the young master so you don’t need to feel envious,” my face suddenly warmed up. Of all Shino said that mentioned Reign, this was all I understand. I looked back to the front and closed my mouth. My heart beats furiously like hell. Reign cared for me?

“Here,” I looked again on Shino. He takes something from his coat’s pocket and give me a piece of paper, “It’s a map. After I take you as my hostage, you will act to break free from my hands. Then you go to this place and you will see those maids,” I just nodded. I wanted to convince him that everyone can be settle by talking but I didn’t bother.

If Shino’s take his words as wisdom, then there’s no point on changing his mind. I picked the paper from him and immediately held it tightly because I had no pocket on my clothes. We walked quietly until a huge fire flashed before our eyes.

It was coming from the shore, “We are here,” said Shino but my eyes are ahead, watching how the fire dance to the wind and giving massive smokes in the sky. When I saw where it came from, it was from the old ship we had boarded earlier.

“There’s the young master,” Shino said so I followed his gaze. I saw Reign walking into the woods. He is accompanied by a woman, Elliott, and the twins Blaze and Blade. The woman was familiar with her brunette skin, she was Maze! The girl I saw on the night disco bar and Shino was right, they were holding weapons. It’s not a conversation that only happens but something by telling everything on their bullets.

Behind Reign followed by his men. Even though I was a little far from them, I could see the tattoos on their necks because of the excessive fire illuminating the place; a serpent with sword.

“As expected from the master. He will bring the Gara Clan,” Gara Clan? I was about to ask something when I heard gunshots from ahead. I looked at where they were Reign and they were already scattered. They were already firing with Shino’s men. I didn’t know but Reign suddenly disappeared from them.

“Where’s Reign?” I asked Shino but he didn’t respond. To my surprise he suddenly pulled me towards him and we both turned around as he placed his arms close to my neck; he aimed his gun at my head.

“Long time no see, young master,” Shino said while looking in front of us with a grin on his face. I immediately turned to the front and saw Reign. He was holding a gun while pointed in our direction. His eyes were angry but I knew he was staring at Shino.

“Don’t point your gone at her,” Reign said with modulated baritone voice. I felt Shino’s  tightened the grip on the gun.

“I know you won’t hurt me and I have your words but what if Reign shoots you?” I whispered at him.

“Young master will probably shoot at me but he can’t do it since you are in my hands,” I stared at Shino’s eyes and he was serious. I didn’t speak until I looked back to the front. Reign’s eyes met mine and when our eyes landed on each other, I couldn’t help but feel the excessive pounding in my chest. How many days did I last saw this man? His blue eyes were deep looking at me.

He then turned his eyes on Shion, “How long have you been hiding behind a woman, Shion? Let her go,” Reign said in a firm voice.

“I know you’d kill me if I let go of this woman,”

“He probably will, Shino so don’t. I don’t want you to be in danger. Reign and you can settled everything in conversation so stop this nonsense,” I whispered at him but he just smiled. I thought that I would not stop him from his decision but this isn’t right. Shino knew that he was not responsible for this and Reign too but why are they doing this?

I heard another cocking of gun from behind Shino so I immediately turned around. I saw Elliott holding a gun while pointed at Shino’s head.

“Shot him,” Reign ruthlessly said. Elliott immediately put his fingers on the trigger so in fear, I left Shino’s arms and immediately changed our position, “No don’t!” Reign shouted when Elliott’s gun was already pointing at me.

“Put your gun down, Elliott.” said Reign with authority. I don’t know why but I just saw my own covering Shino, “What the hell are you doing, Ruchee?” asked Reign then he lowered his gun.

“Shino is not your enemy, Reign,” I said while I’m trying to not stutter. Reign looked at me intensely but I ignored his stares, “You knew right? Both of you are not the enemies,” I continued.

“Come here,” he commanded but I just shrugged, “Why are you saying his name comfortably?” Seriously? This is what he will ask instead why did I say they are not the enemy to each other?

“No. You need to listen on what Shino will say,”

“Why are you taking his side?”

“Because Shino is innocent! You know that yourself right?” Reign didn’t answer. He remained silent while looking at me, “I know you’re wondering but you ---” I was stunned when I heard a loud explosion, we both looked at the source of the loud sound and the smoke that swirled in the sky. It came from our left.

“The maids,” I looked at Shino, “Go and get your friends,” I did not answer. I don’t want to leave Shino here lest what Reign do to him. But I also had to go to Luna and Brielle, “I’m fine,” he said then smiled at me.

This a difficult decision  for me but I have to leave Shino here. I looked at Reign, “Don’t you dare hurt him. I will hate you if you lay your hands on Shino,” I don’t know why I can do and tell Reign this things but I feel that it was effective. I immediately ran away from them.

“Where are you going?!” he asked in a slovenly tone but I did not answer. I even saw Shino stop him. I was afraid that Reign might shoot Shino but Reign just punched him.

I looked back to the front and ran without looking back at them. I need to find Luna and Brielle and get back right away to prevent the dispute that could happen between Reign and Shino.
